We received an automated phone call trying to reach someone in charge of the estate of our Mom. They left the number 888 420 2510 to call them back. I have not and will not. I'm glad to hear from others that have had this go on. It's good to share the information with one another.

This is wrong. My mother passed away a little over 2 months ago and this is very disturbing. I plan to see if I can block this caller from my parents number and my cell.

I just received one of these letters on April 2, 2015 following up a phone message....for myself. Apparently I'm dead and I  don't know it.  Not sure where they got my name from - nothing is outstanding bill wise (my bank account can prove that) so I'm on the fence whether to call them to tell them I'm very much alive or ignore them. We'll see how many more calls we get.

Also received a call from Ascension Point 888-80-9073. Same story, estate handling. For my father who passed away 30 yrs ago on his Chevron card and balance over $2g. My mother still uses card and pays every month. Calling Chevron next. Both reps of AP were very polite and actually said they could list as uncollectable and asked if I wanted to be removed.

These scum are persistent.  They called 11x claiming my father had "outstanding debts" which of course he had none as all of us would have seen the bills. I got letters from them not actually saying anything substantial (and they would NEVER quote an amount- heaven forbid they not get a few extra pennies out of this scam!)  I had to get the BBB, FCC and State Consumer Complaint Board to tell them to back off.  If I were retired, I'd have a field day making their lives miserable on a daily basis. My request to the state: put these jokers out of business. All they do is upset the relatives of the deceased.

What a coincidence that the low life who claims Ascension Point is legit has a URL that was identified as originating from Ascension Point. I think our new attorney general will be glad to get this information.

Every legitimate business I ever conducted telephone business with always identified themselves. These clowns try to pretend they are legitimate but will not give you any information about what they do or who they represent. I questioned the who, what, where and when and the caller would not allow any questions about the company or anything else of substance to legitimize the reason for the telephone call. These creeps use multiple numbers, they called me on 1-888-806-9074. To be honest, It will be tough to get the justice system involved because they have to have hard evidence of wrong doing and many people raising concerns. These losers know the ropes and when things get hot, they vanish to start another scam.

    Buried Alive by Death's paperwork
888-420-2510 is Ascension Point, and is calling family members to try to reach the appointed personal authorized to handle the deceased's affairs. They also ask for names, contact info trying to pin point the person "authorized". Here is the big clue for the family bereaving, a legitimate company, looking for the authorized rep, would know that they can call the courthouse and get the info for the deceased persons appointed representative ( if one is assigned), if not assigned, then the court appoints one after an interim , if no one steps forward.  So if  you are  called, and not the appointed rep,  I suggest to  tell them to call the courthouse for the info ( it should be public file). ......And do not, give them  info ( phone #'s, names etc) , including any other family members as they will just call every associated family member they can. Grieving family members need to grieve

They call my stepmom every single day, two to three times a day. They don't get through because we have nomorobo as part of our Comcast service, which catches about 99% of telemarketing calls.

My father paid all his bills on time every time and owed nothing. My mother has an attorney to handle the estate. So why did I get a call? Ascension point trolled the Internet for me.

Just got a call from the same number listed above about me X- husband. With all the details being the same as all the rest. What puzzles me is how they got a phone number to the house in which I live. I Never use the number. The service is not even in  my name. None of my family members, friends or business contacts even know the number. So how the Hell did AscensionPoint Recovery Services, LLC get the number ?

I just called the number back.  They have been calling several times a day and leave no message and no one is on the phone if you do answer.  When I called I spoke to a person who said they were trying to reach someone who has authority to discuss estate of my ex-mother in law.  I told her I was sure I had no authority and they said they would remove my number.  Guess we will see.

Ascension Point was calling me 3 times a day while I was on vacation leaving no message.  I also got a letter addressed to the previous owner of the house which I returned unopened "not at this address".  I finally was home when they called and they wanted to know who was handling the estate of the previous owner's ex-wife.  The house sale is of course a matter of public record and a quick obits search showed the man's ex-wife died about 3 years ago.

They are really fishing, why would I have estate info from people I've never even met?

Anyway if I *were* settling an estate I'd ask my lawyer before dealing with these people.

My daughter passed away the end of March and Ascension Point has been calling us on our home phone since April & has been calling me on my cell phone since July 2. I have put them in a reject file as I am tired of them calling. I just wish they would stop calling.

Five calls from these robocalling geeks in the last week, all stopped by junk call blocker. Time to completely block them at phone company account level.
