Caller ID said Toll Free Caller.  If this is Charter why doesn't caller ID say Charter?  Customers might be more inclined to answer if they identified themselves.

Identity thieves, con men and bill collectors alike buy and sell your personal information. If they get nowhere with you, they will sell your information to some other thief. Don't ever give out or "confirm" ANY information over the telephone. When someone tells you that you must "confirm" your name, make them say it first. Don't let them tell you anything different. The same goes for your address. If they won't do this, they're thieves. Thieves often pretend to be a legitimate collection agency, business or organization.

Make them notify you through the mail. If they won't do this, they're thieves. How do I know all of this stuff? I worked for a legitimate collection agency one summer. Not some get-rich-quick con man. I fully expect others to post here to try to argue with me. Ignore them, they are the thieves I am warning you of. If something doesn't sound right, just hang up.

Legitimate bill collectors can be negotiated with. If you come to an agreement, demand that they first send it in writing to you through the mail, along with verification of a legitimate debt, as the law requires. Never send them anything in writing. They don't need to require this if they're legitimate. Never agree to anything which makes you pay money first. Never turn over control of your computer to anyone. Never push buttons or leave messages. Never believe anyone who threatens you with arrest. NEVER give out card numbers or check routing and account numbers. Always use money orders. Don't mail payments to PO boxes. Legitimate people aren't afraid to provide an office address.

Thieves and con men are aware of this website. They have been posting here (800notes) to create confusion. They  usually tell stories about how hard it was to get rid of them, how they were threatened, or tell of different things that they say worked. Good businesses don't do this.  Don't bother to threaten thieves, they think it's funny.

I did not receive a call but instead a charge appeared on my credit card statement. It was from Charter Comm in Alabama.  Also known as Charter Spectrum.  Filed Fraud Report.

U people are on here bad talking this charter communications but little do u people kno it's someone's job to call u all to get u the great internet phone and cable they have and its affordable to and just so u kno I'm one of those people who work in the call center and I do it so I can take care of my two kids so stop being ignorant

This is the customer service number for Charter Spectrum.  It is legitimate, although can be annoying.

Yes, it was Charter Communications. I contacted them to install internet and phone at my house.

It is Charter Communications. They called me 4 times but I didn't answer as I didn't recognize the number. They were calling about my request to install internet and phone.

This IS Charter Communication at least today 4/16/16.  I set up appointment with them earlier today for Monday, this was a reminder of appointment

juat dirt bag con artist.claim there was a billing error .then called to say it is resolved.automated computer scam.dont call .even if a so called bill collector.they buy a box of debt and double or triple it .try to con a payout.they will threaten court action.tell them file away scum.the court will not accept this in texas.

This was Charter Communications letting me know that the outage that had interrupted our service had been fixed and that if I was still experiencing problems to let them know immediately.

Voice mail wanting to speak to someone about changes we made to our service and the primary Acct holder should give them a call back at that number.
Only problem is...we haven't made any changes to our service. Odd call.

Telemarketing scam

It was an automated notification that an internet outage should now be resolved. I had called customer service earlier in the day due to a loss of service and the automated line had an option for a call back once the service was back to normal. Granted, I had service back to normal for several hours before the call back occurred, but in my case this was a legitimate call that I requested.

I just signed up for the service yesterday.  Don't say stupid [***] you don't know.

I did not pick up, left message that was just a continuous series of beeps, each a couple seconds apart. While I was reading the messages on this website, they called back again, perhaps only 5 minutes after the first call. This time I pushed the call blocking button on my phone.

It was Spectrum Internet robo message that internet outage is over. I requested this call. The outage ended about 2 hours ago or so and I was already aware. Caller ID says TOLL FREE and not Spectrum.

Please block this annoying caller
