I received a call today and was hung up on after saying "hello." I too only have a cell phone number. I set my Samsung phone to automatically reject all calls from Charter. I went to Settings > Call Settings > All Calls > Auto Reject. I turned this option ON and keyed in Charter's number. I'm hoping this works.

Just got a call from 888-438-2427, nothing but a hangup when I answered.  Annoying.

I get several calls from this number every week.  I have joined the National Do Not Call list, and it hasn't seemed to make any difference.  I find this very irritating.

I have recived multiple calls from this number this week...ANNOYED!  This is ridiculous.

It's not anybody hanging up, it's an automated calling machine with the message on the blink. Don't hang up, just leave the receiver off the hook for as long as you can so they get charged real good for the call.

It is Charter Communications.  I discontinued my cable tv last week. On Wednesday I took the box and turned it in to the office.
Thursday I got two calls from the 888-438-2427 number. I don't answer toll free calls to my cell.  Today I came here to find out who it is. As I was reading the posts, my cell rang and it was this number. I answered it to hear what they had to say.  My cable/internet bill just went from $107/mo. to $38/mo.  Sometimes it pays to answer the phone!

This # is from Charter Communications, a cable/etc. company.  I got a call from this # auto-soliciting that I call them to "buy" a pay-per-view fight - something I'm not interested in at all.  They don't bother me often enough to complain.  AND... I just called the # to check and actually got through to their automated customer service.

I want to say that I get the call at least once a day. But is says nothing about Charter! It says something like "Your factory warranty on your vehicle is out of date" and I have a '93 Honda Civic. I think everything is out of date on that...don't you?

Anyways, the automated message end, saying something like "Press 1 to speak to an operator, or Press 2 to be taken off our call list." Of course, I pressed 2 and still get the call 2-3 times a day (they backed off a little on Sundays). I finally pressed 2 once, a lady picked up and asked me what I would like to purchase, and I said "Nothing, just get me off your call list." She hung up on me, of course.  


....I still get the call...

really? then I will leave my phone off the hook.

they have called me twice since i returned from a visit to illinois, i never saw the number before that...

If there is somebody on the other end when they call again, I will cancel my service on the spot.

I received a number on my phone that i did not  or could not identify until i got on the internet. this number is from an office or person who is apparently trying to make more business for; charter communications, inc.,
12405 powerscourt drive, st. louis, mo, 63131. i don't want any more services from them and if i did i would call!!!!!! this pushing of the public to get more business is rediculous and needs to stop. they did not even leave a message or a return number other than this one that showed up on my phone. this is a really sad way of trying to get more business.

I called the number back and finally selected an arbitrary number that connected me to a live person, who was friendly and said he put me on the "do not call" list.  We'll see.... by the way, they wanted my Social Security Number... I did not give it to them.

Not only did they call me and not leave a message, but they apparently didn't care that I am on the west coast. I received their call at 6:30am on a saturday!!!!
