Yup. Googled the phone number and it is Charter Communication.  Local even.  Here's the address.2982 E Colorado Blvd Pasadena, California 91107.  Go and drop by and tell them to stop bugging you.

Here's how to stop the calls, emails and direct mails.  I was still getting 3 calls a day from this number so I said "enough is enough! and called them instead.  Got a lady from customer service.  I was polite but firm.  Told them I didnt want anymore calls or to join Charter.  She said the calls were from Sales.  She put me on hold for a couple minutes and came back with directions on how to stop EVERYTHING.
(I get tons of direct mail from them weekly too).  

Do this to stop everything:  
1) Go to www.charter.net
2) Scroll down to the very, very bottom of the website
3) Click on the link for YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
4) From that page click on the link for PRIVACY PREFERENCES.
5) Fill in all required information including your phone number.
6) Check NO for "are you a current Charter customer"
7) Check all the boxes under "To Remove yourself....."
8) Click SUBMIT.

And that will be the end of all that.

Ohhh, if you're getting emails too dont forget to go back and stop them through the
"To remove yourself from Charter's e-mail marketing list" link.

I keep getting calls from this number.  They say they are Charter, but I do not think they are.

THEY KEEPING CALLING ME TO .SAYING THEY CHATER COMMUNICATION I CALL THE NUMBER THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE GOING TO PUT MY NAME ON THE DO NTO CALL LIST. BUT THEY SILL KEEPING CALLING?

announce themselves as charter communcations, asked for the number, gave me 888 438 2427, *69 found 877 796 0279, called id blocked.  called and asked to be taken off the list, talking to a service, person, called back, told to log on to charter communications and change my preferences to be removed from the list.  interesting switch, remove my name from their list not having known mine is there at all.

Its the Charter company call the cops, it works!

I got a call from 888-438-2427.  Did not recognize the number so I did not answer the call.

I will call them when I need to.

I got the calls from the same number.  My solution was simple.  "If they ever call again, I will cancel and never have anything to do with them again."  I did that with Direct TV and Verizon 10 years ago.  That's 10 years worth my business they haven't gotten. I do the same with political calls:  The last one to call me does not get my vote, I automatically give my vote to the other person(s). It works.

To answer your questions the dialer is a computer dialer and if no one picks up then we set the call for to call back. Unfortunately, we have no idea if someone else has called prior to that. We are not idiots and we understand you don't want any more services, but it is part of the job also. Not sure why the people are asking for ssn unless you call in we have to verify it is you and not someone trying to be you. Yes, we do call alot but again we have no control over that. Picking up and just say put me on the do not call list is the best bet because we have to set the call to call back if we don't reach someone. I don't like to keep calling people over and over either, but I too, need a job and it was this one so please be patient with us when we call. I don't agree with Charter constantky calling either, but give the telemarketer a break and not be rude to them since afterall we are doing our job. I wish we could have control over the leads we get, but we do not.
