I received two calls from Attorney Jane Spellman. The number they left was 888-441-4001 ext. 4024. They gave my sister's name as the person they were looking for. They wanted her attorney or herself to call immediately that her name come up for questioning. I never called them back, either time. I told my sister about it and she did admit her credit wasn't too rosey. I thought it was the credit people trying to find her. But after reading the call details from others, I do wonder if its just a scam too. Either way, I won't waste my time calling back.

Brown and told her I had two gift cards and she asked for the numbers off of the cards and expiration date because she taught it was a visa.  I told her it was not a visa it was a gift card told me to go back and get a visa card I went back to try to get the money for the visa and they told me they couldn't give me my money on a visa because i had brought the gift card.  so I came back home and call Mrs. Brown and told her walmart will not give me my money back she told me to go back to walmart and demand my damn money back I begin to wonder what was going on, she started cursing on the phone, I told her Mr. Brown told me to get the gift cards and then she put me on hold and then Mr. brown came on the phone and explaining to me I meant to tell you a visa not a gift card, I TOLD THEM THAT Was not my fault. I can not get my money back. I was so upset so I waited until my oldest daughter got home and told her how these people keep harrasing me and that i had went to Walmart and got a Gift card for one hundred dollars a piece, and that walmart will not give me my money back. Ok, so yes I am a victom of this too! Only I was scared and ended paying, I know stupid, stupid, stupid! Ok so my question to all of you, has anyone started or attempted to file a class action suit against this company. Unfortunately, in my phone call they did give me all the right answers. The only thing they wouldnt do for me was send me paper work. I am in California and they lady who I spoke with is Sydney Roman her extension is x4027, and an interesting point to all this is that I have their account number with Bank of America! I went to BofA and spoke to their branch manager, they told me, of course after the fact, that that company's account is NOT in good standing with their bank. Now if they are wanted in all those other states, then are any of you willing to jump on the band wagon to track any of these idiots?!! Im serious! If you are attempting to assist me with this issue that we have all fell vistom to, please do not hesitate to contact me! I am going to put this website on bookmark and check it frequently as I am seriously upset about having to fork over all that money when I make pennies to try to get by!@

I have also received these calls off & on for months.  Everytime they call they are a different firm.  I asked for their physical address & they said well we don't accept letters so why do you want this.  I said I would like to send a certified letter requesting a debt validation letter.  The person claiming to be Sidnei Roman stated they didn't receive letters.  What kind of "law firm" does not accept letter?  I said well I have already faxed you a letter months ago but your firm was called something else.  She said no you must be mistaken.  I rattled off all the different names they have used when they have called & she said I must have the wrong information.  She said I'll give you my fax number, & before she could finish, I said completed the fax number 1-888-326-3139, which ironically is the same number as the firm that called me months ago.  I started asking more questions & she hung up on me.  I was not rude in anyway.  I just asked questions & apparently they do not like that.  Do not let them scare you.  If they were on the up & up at all, they would send something in writing which they do not.  I'm sure they won't call me again for another few months with a different name of their firm.  If I am suppose to owe them money, how come I have never received anything.  It's all too weird to me.  I have never had a so called debt collector hang up on me because I had too many questions.  I had to laugh.   Have a good day.

I had a call today and she was so evil.  I offered to pay the debt tomorrow on payday and she told me that I would be arrested at work by 1pm.  I was home sick and called my mother in another state in tears.  She made me think and I decided to do some investigating and found this site.  I live in Arizona but would happily jump on the band wagon and even know a great attorney in my area that I will be forwarding this information to.  He helped me with a case pro bono when the repo man was calling and cussing on my machine while I was on disability from a car accident.  Don't be surprised if you hear more about these demon spawn.

From: Delores Miller. Calling for my son. Left message regarding the importance of my son (didn't know He was my son, referred to his name, as being a female)-returning her call as soon as possible. That or a call from his attorney- called from 1-888-441-4001 ext 4020.......Final comment left on my machine by woman, "oh, and I'm supposed to tell You GOOD LUCK!" Very passive aggressively insinuating a threat.

My story is just like everyone else's.  I got a call from Louis Steadman the other day telling me that the state would be getting information from their offices identifying me as a felon for a payday loan.  I told him that I didn't think I owed anything and would need something in writing.  He got mad and said that I should have received several letters from them.  He almost convinced me to pay some money and I asked if I could pay the rest out in installments.  He said he'd have to get someone from the state on the phone to ask.  (Oooook) Anyway, the lady "from the state" who was "Sydney Roman" said that there was no way they could take only $100.00 up front then installments.  She told me they would have no choice but to pursue the charges and that if I was driving in my car I would need to pull over and let someone else drive.  If I was at work, I'd need to go down to the HR and wait there until the Justice of the Peace got there.  I was like, "What are you TALKING about?!"  Come on... stupid!!  She said they were getting my whereabouts and passing it to the local authorities.  I'm not a complete moron.  A bit naive at times but I do have some common sense.  I could go on and on b/c I kept getting hung up on after telling her that I would need to talk with an attorney friend of mine.  I kept calling back b/c I wanted to know more about their company and so called law office.  No information was EVER given to me.  Come on...!  If a reputable company was trying to get reimbursement from any kind of loan or debt, they'd do so with professionalism and tact, for pete's sake.  She was so incredibly RUDE that I KNEW it was COMPLETELY BOGUS so I started humoring her a bit. I told her I was trying to get to the bottom of it.  I must have made her uneasy with all of my questions and seemingly genuine concern over the allegations.  She told me to quit calling or she'd add harrassment charges.... WOW!!  It got completely turned around like I was the bully.  Haha!  They're incredibly uneducated people that have probably stolen some records from a payday loan company they've worked for in the past and are making a living stealing from people... probably to pay off THEIR payday loans.  May their sin take them DOWN!!

Thank you so much for posting your comments because I would have paid them. I called back to request information and she said I will be picked up in 30 minutes and hung up on me. I called back and she said why am I still calling her office. I contacted bank of america and explained the situation. They will be doing what they need to do. I also contacted an attorney because this doesn't make sense. Something has to be done.

Well...their day is coming.  They made the mistake of calling me, a person versed in local law and FDCPA interests.  The state Attorney General has been notified and the number they called from (888) 326-3139 has been traced by local law enforcement and their location relayed to the AG's office.

Those of you who are still receiving calls from this agency know that they ARE in fact a fraudulent agency and that their debt collection practices are illegal because they do not retain a license to collect said debts.  Do not communicate with this agency further.  If you receive calls from the above number or the 441-4001 number, do not answer it, allow it to go to voicemail and save any messages that are left on your voicemail.  Also take note of the time the call was made.  This information will be needed once a class action lawsuit is filed against the company or individuals.  I also advise that you call your local AG's office and have your name and information recorded so that you can be listed as a participant in the class action lawsuit going forward.

Once again, please do not answer these calls and certainly do not pay them any money, this is not a legal firm and your money is only going into their pockets.

I wish you all the best in all your endeavors!

fed up.. replies to The lance that fought back
For those of you who think it's real...it is not. I paid them money as well...and then I saw this site and called my bank..we then called on threeway. The address they give is an empty hair supply store in Monks Sc.
They claimed to have been in business for 3 years to me and my bank, however if you read other comments on this page, you will see they give a different story every time. The conversation was recored by my bank and Ms. Sydney didn't like it too much...she hung up on us. tried to call back immediately after and the call wouldn't even go thru. You may in fact owe the money, but rest assured these people aren't the collectors....they are eating prime rib and bottles of wine on your money!!!! If it's been turned over for collection, you will receive information by mail first for you to pay. Also....big red flag with these people...they only except credit card payment or your bank account number...no western union...WHY...because wire fraud is a federal offense....and they could be caught and severly prosecuted. Lesson learned...
