Called and said they were a lw firm and that I would be arrested by the distrcit sttorney. Called family and told them they were co-conspirators.

These people keep calling and threatening a lawsuit.  I asked them to send the paperwork by fax, but all I got was that they were calling the DA and have me arrested.

They are rude and harassing.  They are a scam. They don't have any paperwork and I think they are stealing money from people.

What you are doing can get you put in jail for real.  It is known as harassment.  Please use your head and don't lower yourself to their level.

What makes it even funnier is that people aren't "arrested" over debts. Debt is a civil, not a criminal, matter. Prosecutors and law enforcement officers don't run errands for debt collectors, especially when those debt collectors are actually criminals posing as debt collectors. :)

I have a great idea lets all dedicate some time and each of us call them about four or five times a day.  Given all the post on this page we should be able to tie up their phone lines until they change the number and someone post the new one. Then we can call it. :)

I am so glad that I did this look up before sending these people my money.  I will definitely pay what I owe and I have no problem with that.  But these threats have to stop.  I am 7 mths pregnant and can't deal with the stress.  I spent all day at work today doing research on this company.  I filed a complaint with the BBB and the Secretary of State of SC.  I also got their legal mailing address for the secretary of state's office and sent them letter today via certified mail requesting a bill or something in writing from them.  When I get it I will gladly pay.  They just seem really fishy.  Plus I called them back from one of my co-workers cell phone... do u know they called her number back and left a threatening message on her v-mail for me... telling her they are going to throw me in jail... I can't take this, this is too much.

These people are real and if you know that you received a loan then you need to pay what you owe. You can't go online and get these people money and don't pay for it; there's nothing in life for free. I received two payday loans and had to pay 1310.00. I paid it in 3 payments and they helped me do that, and I'm thankful. You all need to do the same, and I'm not a fake person; I'm real and I pay all my debts. Do the same. People just pay your debts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As I said before, I suggest you not pay them anything. This is a scam as is evidenced by the fact that they made illegal threats of arrest. Rest assured that no debt collector -- let alone crooks posing as debt collectors -- has the authority to have anyone arrested for anything. And it's illegal for these crooks to threaten otherwise. Making false arrest threats is one of the many illegal behaviors that led the Florida Attorney General to file suit against two of these scammers' other front companies, Ellis Crosby & Associates and Bass Prelitigation. (The state of Florida succeeded in shutting down the Ellis Crosby scam a few months ago and is still in the process of litigating against Bass.)

By the way, the only address listed online in the South Carolina Secretary of State's corporation filing for Spellman & Roman is the address of Incorp Services, Inc.  Incorp is the company that the scammers behind the Spellman & Roman hired to file their incorporation papers with the state of South Carolina.  (See http://webprod.cio.sc.gov/SCSOSWeb/registeredAgentDetail.do?CORPID=501132++++++ )

This is precisely what these same scammers did when they were calling themselves States Predisposition. They hired a business services company to file incorporation papers for them with the state of Georiga. But their only presence in Georgia was a rented UPS Store mailbox and perhaps another mail-drop location. All the while, the scammers were really operating out of Jacksonville, Florida. I'm confident that is also the case with their "Spellman & Roman" scam. If an address ever materializes for Spellman & Roman in South Carolina, it will most likely be a rented mailbox or some other mail-drop address.  But, as with Crosby, Bass and States Predisposition, they are really operating out of Jacksonville, Florida.

In addition to the other complaints you filed, I suggest you also file complaints (most of which you can do online) with the federal and state agencies listed in my message above from July 2.

Just remember this -- once these crooks threatened you with arrest, they proved that their company is actually a scam. Please reconsider letting them steal your money.

Your message is a phony just like your debt collection scam.  Tell Evelyn and Frank Jackson that we said hello and that we see through all their scams.

Paying my debt is not the problme " ms. blue".  But lets please go about things the right way.  My loan was for 250.00 how can i now owe over 700.00??... I consulted with legal counsel and was advised to send this company a certified letter requesting the bill.  When I called Spellman and Roman, they refused to give me their address to send the letter to... they actually hung up on me... why is that.. why can't I mail the payment to you?  Why do i have to put it into you bank acct directly or pay it at only one particular check cashing place?  Why can't I overnight the payment or send it western union.  These are all things that reputable companies allow you to do in order to clear the debt.  This is why I can't just fork over the money.. In this day and age people are getting scammed out of all sorts of money and the economy isn't getting any better, so I do hold my pennies as tightly as possible.  I am willing to pay what I owe plus any reasonable fees, this company is not charging reasonable fees...

Another false report filed by a debt collector thug posing as a consumer.

This is a classic false report template that these debt collection frauds use online, and it goes like this - "This is a real company and they do sue! I thought they were a scam and then they nailed me in court! I'm not fake! Pay your debts, losers!"  And that's usually typed in all-caps with lots of misspelled words. When someone posting messages claims that they are not "fake" even when no one has accused them of being fake, it usually means they are a fake.

Ms Blue - if your "operation" were on the level, you wouldn't have to waste one second posting fake messages here.

we also recieved call saying that they needed to speak to our brother in law or his lawyer , that we were listed as cross reference for him.  They said that they were from an attorneys office for Veronica Masters and that our brother in law needed to contact them or his lawyer, but that "they had enough elements to continue the investigation".  so we called the number and a lady answered the phone saying, "investigations" we told her we couldn't get in touch with our brother in law , what was this about, "she said that he was in serious trouble with the state of North carolina, and that she needed to talk to him that she was calling as a good samaritan to inform him of all the trouble he was in .  so long story short our brother in law called and she had his social security number and she wanted to know was that him and he wouldn't tell her so she said that when he could act professional and talk to her then he could call back and she hung up so we typed in her name on google and this site pulled up thank you for the info. the number on caller id was 1-888-326-3139, but the message left the number 1-888-441-4001 ext 4022

Thanks for the laugh.  You can feign offense all you want, but I must inform you that no one is falling for your crapola.  That is because some of us remember your posting near identical false messages here regarding the States-Predisp fraud.  That's right -- some of us have 'payed' [sic] attention.

The caller states that she is calling from the offices of Vernoica Masters.  She mentions a department 4022.  She mentions that the callee is a key primary elecment for questionsing in an investigation.  She also mentions that ther is proabable cause about the incident.  If callee does not call in one hour she will move the situation forward to the law.  She states several times to have the callee or callee's lawyer to call within the next hour.
