I received a call on my cell phone from 888-582-3359 yesterday. The lady didn't identify herself nor the company name. She asked if my address was such and such then asked if I had a daughter named my daughters name. I told her I wasn't going to answer those questions since she had not identified herself nor what company she represented. She told me she was with Revenue Recovery Corporation about a bad debt for my daughter! My daughter just turned 18 this month & has no bad debt! Only when I got irate with her did she FINALLY tell me the medical office in which she was calling about! She was extremely rude and I was rude back to her! If she had told me the medical office she was calling about in the beginnning of the call instead of asking personal questions then I would have been cooperative! How was I to know she wasn't running a scam and might need my address to come by my house to do something to my family! Then the b----- wanted to threaten my credit rating if I didn't pay her or as she put it "take care of it now"! No way in hell I'm giving this idiot my credit card or debit card information!  This lady should be working as a prison guard, bail bondsman or as a repo man/woman because she isn't cut out for customer service! Turns out it was a legitimate claim with the medical office which failed to continue to send me the bill in the mail even after I had made payments to them. It just could have been handled in a professional way had she told me the medical office she was calling on behalf of in the beginning of the conversation!

    THANK YOU FOR SAYING SO!

Insurance didn't pay for some of the items that we'd had months ago and we had NO idea anything was wrong until these BOZOs started calling us. The medical office got it all squared away but can't stop these goons from calling us. They've tried. What the H#LL use is insurance if it is still going to leave problems like this to deal with.

On another note, I watched a guy the other day try to pay for his bloodwork outright instead of dealing with insurance or getting billed. They [receptionist] looked at him like he was crazy and said, "Sir we have no way of taking cash or credit cards, we will just have bill you for it." He reluctantly put the cash back in his wallet. He looked so feeble that I said the bad words aloud that he was thinking. I was the hero that day.

We have some #(*&A$^$ in America when a man or woman can't pull money out of their wallet or purse to settle a debt. I thought cash was still legal tender and therefore in every regard must be accepted to settle a debt with on the spot. Am I missing something?????????????????????????????

I'm not even that religious but heaven help us- we are in trouble!

These people have called me from a multitude of numbers. I always ignore and block them. I guess they caught on and called me from a different number. I answered, and the woman "Brittany" told me I owe $1,404.03. But she could not tell me where these bills were coming from. She also told me they "were going to get that money by any means necessary" and she "wasn't willing to argue" with me.  I reached out to the hospital where I was treated, and also paid my bill in full months prior. The billing receptionist told me I was the second person of the day to call and ask about this "revenue recovery corporation". She told me they do not work with such an agency, and that I should immediately report this to the attorney general. I did just that. In the mean time, my husband called back this number from a different phone. They would not tell him a single piece of information until he gave them his name and number. He told them that he would like to speak with a manager. They put a "team leader" on the phone named "Chad". Chad also told my husband that he would not give any information until he gave a name and number. We got the impression that they wouldn't tell us because each name and number they have is listed to a different dummy company name. This is a scam. And I will bring them down.

    Another Frustrated Posting
Received a call from this number. Person who answered asked me a lot of questions before addressing any of mine. Questions were like those posted earlier--Who called me? What number did they call from (I did not write it down, only the number left for me to call)? Was my name xxx? No, it wasn't. They did not seem to have my name on file. What is the number I was calling from (business, home, cell, etc.). I asked them to please take my name off of their call list. I have no idea how they located my number or why exactly they called.

This is a collection agency. I know the company well I have a relative who works there. They're well known in medical bills locally and the collectors drive expensive cars. They make bank in commission monthly from what I have been told.

My phone rang once and I answered, as I was already holding my phone. I said, "Hello?" twice and then I hear a click. I look at my phone screen and see, "Call Ended". So I called it back. No answer.

Here is an idea that has worked well for me. Change your voicemail prompt to something that will make them delete your number. Let all numbers go to voicemail that you do not know. If you accidentally answer one and your phone allows selective call forwarding then permanently forward that number to another collection agency. Affter 30 days ...the calls to my phone stopped. I changed my phone message to mimic a sheriffs office. I checked and it's not illegal. The local sheriffs dept simply chuckled and said; "What a great idea. I'll have to try that myself." My voicemail prompt now says; "Thank you for calling the S******* County Sherrif's Department. Unfortunately there are no officers available to take your call at this time. If you leave your name, number, and brief message at the tone ...we will have an officer call you back as soon as possible. If this is an emergency, please hang up the phone and dial 911. Thank you."

Most of these collection agencies try to collect on very old debts, that you are not legally obligated to pay anymore. They are crooks, and try to scare people into paying for debts they don't even owe. You are the one ho needs a reality check!

That person posted here in 2007, 9 years ago.  Debts do not go away, there is no such thing as a law that says you don't have to pay them.  If you are referring to the statute of limitations in each state, all that does is tell you when they are no longer allowed to sue you, not on how long they have to collect, unless you live in Wisconsin and Mississippi when collection activity must also cease.

I received a call from withheld. The return call number was 888 582-3359. I called and a man answered and would not give a name or company except-RRC. He was very rude and only wanted my phone number. I asked if he needed my name. I finally let him hang up on me. He repeatedly asked for my phone number and hung up when I would not give it to him.
