Legitimate debt collectors are not "rude" and do not violate the law which is something you have clearly described in your post.

this number call today, did not answer because I was working.  I check my VM at is says "I repeat 888-582-9258 verify the last four digits of your SSN to better assist you with issue if you don't respond we will have issue an arrest warrant in you name"
How is that a legit collection company?  No company, did not identify  themselves or anything

You can absolutely block any phone number you want. Enjoy your job at a collection agency. Lol

This number left me a voicemail while I was at work. Voicemail said something about “Wakefield and associates, this is a debt collector” and hung up. Did not say who the message was for.

Just received a call from this number the woman was  extremely rude right from the start and refused to identify herself and who or what company she was calling from....she wanted my private information but absolutely refused to  identify herself or company.

So RRC was purchased by Wakefield and Associates this is why you see conflicting posts regarding the name.

I’m surprised that RRC wasn’t closed down before being absorbed by Wakefield.  The FDCPA & FCRA violations were rampant at RRC.

Now I don’t know if these clowns 🤡 have gotten any training but if they are leaving messages as some indicate that they are Debt Collectors I would say they have not been.  Document and don’t delete as they may be FDCPA violations.

Wakefield & Associates usually doesn’t use this tactic described so I’m guessing the number is to the Tennessee office where Reality Check worked and are just using new corporate overlords business name.  A consumer attorney can usually give you a free consultation if they are being abusive and leaving improper disclosures on voice mail.  Wouldn’t hurt to call one and make these Scumbag pay $$$$

All debt collectors use any tactic they can regardless of whether it is illegal or not.  They get sued, well that is simply the cost of doing business.  They turn it over to their insurance company, the insurance makes a settlement with an NDA and everyone pays more for their home and car insurance next year.

So someone calls you up, tells you that you owe them money and you simply pay them?

Got a call from "Lucy" from "Sylvan Institutes". When asked the nature of her business with the person she wanted to talk to, she said it was a "personal matter'. When told "I need some sort of information to give [Recipient's Name] or they won't come to the phone" Lucy oh-so-professionally  said "Okay. Nevermind." and proceeded to hang up.

If they're a collection agency, they're a scam. They probably got stolen/closed account information and wanted to try and collect on them.

Screw them , their a 3rd party who has bought someone’s debt from a company that says you owe them something they are not the original debtor and the person who owes the money to the original debtor has no legal obligation or payment contract or agreements with this third party write them off their nothing more than leaches & next time they call harassing have an air horn ready to blast in their ear

Most likely scammers grabbing personal info and a credit card number if they can get it , don’t answer calls from numbers you don’t know even answering the call triggers bots

Received a call/message saying it was Wakefield & Associates attempting to collect a debt. They didn’t say who they were attempting to contact & have received no paper mail from any companies. Don’t have any outstanding debt, so yeah, I smell a scam.

Got call from this number 888-582-3359 person named Loretta stated to call her and or any one of their reps also stated name of place Waco and associates. Never heard of Waco and associates
