- Caller: Chase Student Loans

- momI keep getting calls from Chase Student loans, and when I return the call, they want the students social security to review the records. We don't have a student loan with Chase, so I won't give them the SS number.
- anonymous replies to tomthey said its from chase student loans and asked for my ssn but I didn't give it to them and asked that they look me up by name.
- MichelleThey've been calling me and my 93 year old grandmother asking for our social securities numbers for a few months now, claiming to be Chase Student Loans, which I know they aren't since I went into a Chase Bank and asked about this. My grandma is very sick of being called, since she doesn't have caller ID, and it's a huge inconvenience for us.

- ANDREWI GOT A MESSAGE FROM THIS COMPANY, AN AUTOMATED MESSAGE FROM CHASE STUDENT LOANS TO CALL THEM BACK TO UPDATE MY INFORMATION WITH THEM. I DO NOT HAVE STUDENT LOANS WITH THIS COMPANY, AND HAVE NEVER BEEN A COSIGNER. I HAVE SALLIE MAE / STUDENT LOANS WITH STUDENT LOAN EXPRESS. I CALLED THEM TO GET MORE INFORMATION AND THEY ASKED ME INSTANTLY FOR MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER IN ORDER TO PULL UP THE ACCOUNT, I WAS SPEAKING WITH REP LASHEIKA. I ASKED THEM IF THEY COULD GIVE ME ANY ASSURANCE THAT THEY WERE NOT A PHISHING SCAM, AND EXPLAINED TO THEM WHAT A PHISHING SCAM WAS. SHE FORWARDED ME TO HER SUPERVISOR, AND I SPOKE WITH MENA AFTER 10 MIN WAIT. SHE ASKED ME IF I EVER HAD ANY LOANS WITH CHASE IN THE PAST OR IF I EVER CO-SIGNED A LOAN FOR SOMEONE ELSE. I TOLD HER NO TO BOTH AND SHE SAID IT WAS PROBABLY A TYPO AND THAT SHE WOULD ADD MY NAME TO A BLOCK LIST THAT WOULD PREVENT THAT NUMBER FROM BEING CALLED IN THE FUTURE. I STILL DONT KNOW IF THIS WAS A LEGITIMATE COMPANY FOR CHASE OR IF IT ACTUALLY WAS A PHISHING SCAM. REPORTED IT TO https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

SCAM!- Caller: Pretend Chase
- MKJ replies to botheredI called Chase off the number given on their website and verified the number after questioning the people at the 888-640-3806.
They are the "Grace Strategy Group" associated with Chase. When I called the Grace group i got in with just the last 4 of my SS# and they pulled up my account and knew who my cosigner was and my previous school address. But just to make sure (i freaked out after finding this thread) I called the Chase number off their site and the lady there told me the Grace group is with them and my account showed that someone had just altered it (took off my school address). So unless this "scam group" was able to access my Chase account (like i said i called the chase number from their site) and make changes then the people I talked to were legit....just fyi - mei'm pretty sure this is a scam. don't listen to these people above. they've called from other numbers also.. namely 8006403806 and if you look that up it says its a scam.. this one asked for SSN right away. They also called i believe from 4063514172.
- Caller: fake chase. thats probably them above me

- CindyI have been called twice in the last two weeks. The recorded messages identifies the organization as Chase Finance and states that it is important to call back regarding my student loan. The first time, instead of calling the 888 number provided, I went to the Chase website and used their customer service number to call them; and, they said they are not associated with this number. I believe this to be a scam.
Also, my cell phone is registered with the Federal Do Not Call Registry, yet the con artists using these phoney numbers persist in calling. Since this is the second attempt, I have reported them to the registry.- Caller: Represented themselves as Chase Finance
- KimikoThese folks from Chase are calling my house several times a day. They ask for a social security number and birthday even before saying "hello". My daughter has a student loan with them and my husband co-signed. She is NOT in default. Does NOT owe anything and they keep calling. First to "verify" information and then to demand a non-exsisting payment. We have told them to stop calling and they don't. I am documenting every call from now on and plan to bring legal action against them. They call from 888-223-8092.

- DougThis was a call from Chase Student Loans - Chase Extension Grace Dept. Likewise, I got a call from them on my answering machine and caller ID and returned the called. Got a Miss Smith who immediately asked for the SS#. According to Chase Student Loans at 800-489-5005, that dept. is a part of their company. They transferred me to that dept. (an office in Phoenix) and they verified they are using the number 888-640-3806 to make contacts through automation.

- HelpI am a fool and gave them my information. I have student loans that I have to begin paying in November. They person on the phone new the account numbers, amount, and interest rates to all of my student laons from chase. Also knew my information from when I very first signed up with Chase. I am still getting phone calls, and it's been a week since I gave them new information regarding an address change. I know I am a fool to have given them my SSN, and regret it now. Nothing has been altered to my accounts, but Can someone please verify if this number is real, and if not...am I [***] out of luck? Or what would I do from here if this is a scam? Please HELP... ;-/
- FineYou are fine. I called and asked them because I was recieving calls from this same number. If they are calling you and you don't have student loans, they have the incorrect number. Exactly what Doug posted before you is what I was told as well after calling Chase. No worries.
- TylerTHIS NUMBER IS SAFE!!!
Just called this number back and it was Chase Student Loans. All they're calling for is to update your loan information and let you know when you enter repayment. Calling them back isn't going to do anything harmful to you, and if you feel unsafe giving them your full social security number, have them look your account up by your full name.
Again, this number is safe, and it's not con artists.- Caller: Chase Student Loans

- Fraud SquadPart of a fraud campaign targeting numerous financial institutions. Note the pattern of shill postings all claiming the number is real - an obvious giveaway.
The large number of phony posts claiming the call is real come from some con artists spamming the site to try to fool people. There is a similar pattern to other fake calls claiming to be from Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same shill postings:
