They're a pain replies to sick of it
I got a call from this number for my husband. I asked who they were and she said CPS not sure what it is but when I tried to ask more questions she hung up on me. I don't think collections would hang up, but a scam would.

    Ridiculous
My sister used to have the phone number that I now have.  I receive calls at least 5 times a day from this number and they ask for my sister.  I told her and she checked and  that same number used to call her and ask for account information and even her social security number.  It is complete bull s*** and anyone who looks and this should report the number.  It is fraudulent.

These people keep calling my cell number and asking for my husband. He does have a capital one account but it is not late or over the limit or anything. I would know b/c I do all of our finances. So annoying. They called last night after 9pm and I told them to remove my number and then they called again this morning. I'm so over it!!!

I have been getting calls 3+ times per day. I continue to tell them that they have the wrong number and yet they keep calling. They are looking for a Hispanic named woman, I have a clearly english name.  They hear it on my voice mail. I have been nice, and now I'm getting mad.

This number called...of course left no message. Yeah if you have a debt you should repay it...but what do you do when both you and your spouse have been LAID OFF due to this economy, no job interviews calling back, and you have a 5 month old child to keep a roof over and be fed??? Isn't your child's place to sleep and food to eat more important than Capital One getting their $50 this month?? How you supposed to "pay your debt" when you have no income Louie?? Boy, I hope you don't fall victim to this economy like most people have...seems that you wouldn't stay afloat for long at all.Yea "your debt would be paid" and you would be homeless. Great idea buddy.

Have been getting calls from this number for several months, they never leave messagae or ask for whom they are looking for this is really making
me mad, why is it that we can not do something to get this kind of calling
stop! I would like to see about getting a class action law suite I know that we should have some rights, tell me what you think.

I googled the number listed above and found out that is was a collection
agnecy for Capital One they also have a lot of other number's they use when calling, when I do answer the person on the other end is asking for
someone who does not live in my household nor do I know this person told
that my number would be removed from there calling logs and as you guess
they lied and now I'm getting more calls, which I have started logging and taken pictures of these calls from the above number because I know that at sometime I'm going to be able to rip their butts off.

Why do they have the right to keep calling when they know that the person(s) they are looking for do not live in my home, where are ours rights?

    Yours Truly

    Mad As Hell

I spoke to a woman that works for this company. She told me there was no way to have them stop calling because even though it's not me they are calling for, the person who had the # before me is linked to it. Because it's the last # they have for this person they have to continuously reference back to it. It's strange though because they even told me what my address was and I clearly do not know this person they are asking for.

    Call Yor Local Sheriff
If you have the phone number, call your local Sheriff or Law Enforcement agency and file a phone abuse complaint. Provide the phone number of the caller, and provide the approximate times and frequency of the calls. As always, be sure to ask for a case number when filing a report. If the caller provides any company name, fictional or not, be sure to report that as well. Be sure to tell the PD that the calls are not welcome and that you have attempted to tell the caller not to call.

I receive calls from a woman named "Rose" from a so-called business called "Financial Solution Company". They call daily. They're looking for a person who doesn't reside with us, is not a family member, and doesn't use our phone number.

I've used the help of our local law enforcement before when getting such calls in the past. The situation usually come to an abrupt end after making the report.

Received two calls from this number, both times I was hung up on before speaking with anyone.  I called it back:
-Hello may I have your Capitol One card number
-I don't have an account with them (I do, but I've never been late once)
-Ok sir may I have your phone number
    -(I give them my number)
-Ok the reason we're calling is to contact (person's name I've never heard of)
    -You have the wrong number.
    -Sorry we'll remove this number. . . sorry. . . 24-48 hours. . . blah blah blah.

Person I spoke with was polite and professional, as was I.  I'll re-post if this doesn't work.

I am sick of this. These people will NOT stop calling my number --- they are looking for for some guy with my same last name... and when I told them nobody by that name lives here they don't care and just keep calling and calling and calling...

Yesterday the called EIGHT TIMES!  This is total harassment.  What can I do other than what I have already done which is to file the complaints on the FCC website???

I was very pleasant to them the first few times.  There is no point trying to reason with these people... so now I just pick up the phone and either scream loudly in their ear or just pick up the phone, tell them to ****off and then hang up.

I am so frustrated I don't know what to do.

I have had my phone number for 23 years and I don't want to have to change it now because of these people.

    Any solutions out there?  Thanks

I do not have an account with Capital One.  They don't even ask for me.  They ask for Ashley Sherrill.  I do not know an Ashley Sherrill.  Obviously, she has given them the wrong #.  They have called repeatedly for 2 weeks on my cell phone, using up my minutes.  I have asked them repeatedly to remove this number as this is not my account, they have the wrong number and I still get calls.  Any ideas who I can report this too as they are not honoring my request to remove my number??

I have this new phone that allows for the blocking of unwanted calls by way of the Caller ID. I select the number from the CID display to be erased and stored in the "blocked number" list. The next time I get a call from them, my phone only rings once.  The manual says the person calling hears a busy signal. My phone is a Panasonic KX-TG9341.

Continuous calling regarding my adult son's Capital One Credit Card past due balance.  Yes, he owes money but NO, he does not live with us NOR does he have a phone, plus he rarely is at the house.  Due to the previous complaints I read here, I went to the Texas Attorney General's website (http://www.oag.state.tx.us/consumer/debt_collection.shtml) and read them the quote "Harassment and Fraud are Prohibited

State law prohibits the use of harassment and abusive collection tactics. It is illegal for any debt collector to:

      * use the telephone to harass debtors by calling anonymously or making repeated or continuous calls;"
The supervisor said he would remove it so we will see.
The name of the company is ALLIED INTERSTATE.  Google it and see what comes up!
Hope this helps some of you.

    Play their game
I had my number changed about a month ago because of dubious calls (and I promptly added my number on the do-not-call list), but I paid a price: this number started calling me instead. I tolerated these calls for a month, never picking up until the 31-day-period of waiting with the do-not-call expired. Then I simply called them back, and did not bother to hide my indignation about their lack of respect for me, my mornings and weekends in particular. The person who picked up the phone uttered a sort of a hello, obviously taken aback by someone's calling them, and then demanded my account number with Capitol One, which I don't have. I told them to remove me from their list instantly. Twenty minutes later I got another call from the same number and told them I would report them unless these calls stop. No more calls since. Here's my advice: be very confident, know what you are doing, tell them you will report them, and last but least: don't tell anything about yourself, not even your name. While this number might be a debt collection agency, it may also be phishing your identity. There's nothing more vulnerable than a person awakened from sleep in the morning - in your sleep-induced stupor you might tell them more than you would tell your mother. Good luck! It worked for me - and no 48-hour waiting is really needed.
