This number is aggressive! Calls me many times a day as early as 8:10am! They even called me once at 8:30am on a Sunday (6/22/08 to be exact)!  I never answered as I don't answer to unfamiliar calls (800/888,etc).  After this morning's call at 8:17am, I had about enough!  I have a toddler still in bed sleeping at this time and i am afraid the phone will wake her.  I researched, found this site.  After reading to find out that this is a collection company called Allied Interstate, I then worried that maybe my credit was in jeopardy, thinking someone stole my Identity.  I called the # to find out what the issue was.  They asked me if I was Connie, (who is my mother), I said no, and she does not live here.  They wanted a number for her and I said no.  They wanted me to forward a message to have her call them.  She has a Capital One account.

YEP  2-4 CALLS ALMOST EVERYDAY.  NOBODY ANSWERS IF I SAY HELLO.
I PICK UP AND SET DOWN EVER TIME THIER NUMBER SHOWS UP ON CALLER ID.
MY NEXT CALL IS TO THE STATE OF WISCONSIN AND REPORT THEM.

They have been calling for about 2-3 months, but lately it had been almost none stop.  From about 8 am to sometimes almost 9:30pm at night. The calls come in about every 20-30 minutes apart some days.  My machine picks it up but there is never a message left or anything.  This is harassment and it needs to stop now.  My husband and I  do not have an accounts with Capitol One.

They've called me about a debt that is owed by my daughter not me....The will try again I know cause I told them not to call last night and sure enough they called twice today.  The best thing to do is make a complaint with your NO CALL list for your state and turn them in to the State's Attorney for you state and the will take it from there and they will get reported to the FCC cause it's a law for the not to call and harrass people for no reason.  I don't even have a Capital One credit card and won't.

These people have been calling my stepson's cell phone as well as my phone and my 76 year old mother's phone all regarding an account held by my step-son's estranged wife.  We are somewhat mystified at how they ended up with my mother's phone number since her (and my) last names are not the same as the person holding the account, she has never resided with us and our numbers were never used by her.  I have not yet answered one of their calls to our house but my mother and step-son have and have asked them not to call them anymore.  So far they haven't called them again.

I spoke to "JJ" and he asked for my account nimber,and I just blasted him that they were in violation of the FDCPA that NO calls are to be made before 7am and after 9pm...he "apologized" but I believe that this is just a straight low life way to get nimbers or the debtors verified.
he informed me that the "dialer"(auto) called my number which is lame because someone had to turn it on in order for it to call me!
the funny thing is he NEVER told me he he was looking for...Mmmmm...that probably because he his Co. was violating Federal Law.

I received two calls on my cell yesterday, two the day before and numerous other calls over the past month.  They are looking for some guy named Steven, who I found out lives in New Mexico.  Then they asked me how long I have had this number.  It's none of their business!  I don't aks them how long they've had this job!  I'm getting a wistle.  The next time they call, I'm using it.  That ought to be fun in the grocery store but at this point, I don't care.  I've told them to quit calling but evidently that doesn't translate into Punjabi.

My Mother-in-law called today and my daughter said that she had a message for her from someone who called my daughter's home phone asking for my M-O-L by name.  My daughter told them that was her Grandmother who doesn't even live in the same county.  She asked,"are you trying to sell her something?"  The caller told my daughter that it was a private matter and to please have her grandmother call them.  I looked at my daughter's caller ID and realized the same number had called my phone the day before.  I called 1-888-748-4956, didn't give them achance to ask anything.  Told them to remove our numbers.  They asked if I was my M-O-L.  They must have been calling all local numbers for her last name.  They asked me for her number and I told them that I would have her call them back.

These idiots only call my cell phone.  The "do not call" doesn't apply to them, since they are not telemarketers.  After approx. 30 calls, I assigned a special ringer to their number so I don't get tricked into answering their call.  That seems to work pretty well.

They called 3 times and the same time. almost 9:00AM. I called back and the first thing they asked was for my CO card number. I gave them the wrong one on purpose to test them. she knew i that it was wrong and this is how i figured out that they have the records. Then she asked for my last 4 digits of my SS#. and I challenged her to identify me first. which she did. So I think they are a collecting agency associated with CO. Just one more reason to cancel my card...

I just called this number back and they immediately asked for my Capitol One account and I replied no but you can cease calls to my home of which she asked for my home phone number and then said "thank you" and hung up..

this is extremely bogus and Capitol One should investigate... I am sure someone, somewhere, is giving them account numbers when they ask...

I put this number on My caller ID Block System about 2 WEEKS ago and Caller ID shows I have received 86 calls from them since. They called 4 times this passed sunday and 2 time today after I got off work. They would not talk when I was answering the calls. The last call of the day is about 8:45pm to 8:55pm

calls here asking for a person i do not know, then they say 'well maybe we have the wrong number.......

Rude, Rude, Rude.  Call all hours of the day, afternoon & evening. Yesterday had "21" calls from this phone number.  I do not answer, but it is so annoying, especially when you are convalescing from surgery !!!
A click hang-up on the answering machine, but none the less, does connect to leave a blinking light, and takes up space on the machine.  About a week ago, I answered it, just to see, and was an Oriental male, wanting information.  Told him I had reported him and the phone number to FCC, and lied, saying, I have never called you before.  Well maybe "he" himself had not called, but someone/several had .. FRAUD//SCAM/DISHONEST!!

I received the same call and contacted Capitol One regarding it.  It is a SPAM and I reported all the info on the call to them.  They also gave me the FBI internet fraud site to report it with them as well.  The link is WWW1.IFCCFBI.GOV.

No it is actually a bogus company SPAMING for your personal info.  I was told by Capitol One to report their calls to the FBI at www1.ifccfbi.gov.  Don't give them your account info.  If they worked for Capitol One they would have that information already.

This number has been calling 4-5 times per day for about 2 weeks.I got sick of the calls after a week so I decided to answer and tell them off. Every time I answer, there is silence or it dials some number and starts ringing. Today I called the number back and was surprised to hear an elderly woman answer. I asked who it was and she told me I had the wrong number. When I told her my situation, she denied all knowledge and said she had never called me. I have come to the conclusion that this must be a scammer calling me and when I call back the number must be rerouting my call. I have no clue what to do about this, but if you get the call and get a human asking for info, don't give it to them!

This is indeed a collection service calling on behalf of Capital One. They are just being untruthful (gee what a surprise) by denying an affiliation. I have received multiple calls from these crepes looking for my wife's ex-husband whom she divorced 22 years ago. We've been married 11+ years so this is just outrageous.
Strong letter to the US Federal Trade Commission to follow.
