We were getting calls from 1-877-245-6424. The guy got very biligerent with my husband and said he knew we were related to a Josh Kirk.  He would send out a processer and my husband said to please do so we could get this taken take of.  

We no longer get calls from this number but now get them from 888-748-4956.  They will not say anything on the phone.  At one time they said it was for Mike Turpin but now won't say anything.  We are on the do not call list but I guess that does not matter.  We are getting at least ten a day and all hours of the day and night.

Funny thing, my daughter-in-law went with a Mike Turpin years ago before she married our son.  She said he died a month ago.

I would like to know how to stop these calls.

Got a hang-up call from "Private Name" at this number today. How fun it is to be kept tabs of by hang-up calls. Perhaps they'll break into my house later and I'll be forced to jam a rolled-up _Scientific American_ down their throat while kneeing them in the sternum. That would suck as the cops never buy it as self defense; they take one look at my apelike arms and heavily muscled 320-pound build and assume I broke into my *own* house and snuffed the geek. It's too bad for the burglars that I hate guns because with a shotgun I could just blow their kneecaps off and leave their pharynxes intact. So no, I don't really like hang-up calls.

I want this number to stop calling my home, I do not owe them or have any business with them.

Calls everyday, up to 10-12 times a day until 9:00 PM.  The first call I get in the morning is from this number.  I receive calls even on Sunday, non-stop.  This has been going on for over three weeks now.

We keep getting these calls too. Been going on for months. Starts at 8am - 9pm. I am going to start calling them back. It cost THEM everytime you call THEM. Time for the harrassed to fight back. Let's all call them a thousand times a day.

On 10/30/2010 I recieved 4 phone calls total from this number.  The first 2 times the call aborted and the other 2 times I picked it up and whomever was on the other end of the line disconnected after 3 seconds.  I have no idea what company it was that was calling.  They did not leave a voice mail message.  If it was Capital One, there was no indication of it.  Hope that I do not get any calls on Halloween.

This company has been calling me for about 3-4 months. It is ANNOYING. My cell phone is used for so many things, like business, school and conacting people (duh!) But still, when my phone rings, I have to fish it out of my purse, only to find it's this number. I heard they are from capital one. Is it true? I don't even own a Capital One card!

These people are ridicoulous! I have been on the "NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST"  for 3 months and thses creepers keep on calling me! What is the point. I picked it up a couple times, just to see what would happen and THERE WAS NOBODY ON THE OTHER END! What's up with that!?

What about the "NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST" Don't they make toll free callers take your number off of their list?

The Do Not Call list does not apply to companies you have a business relationship with.  An over-due bill is a previous business relationship.

Many people will lie over the phone.  They will tell the bill collector that they aren't the right person, even when they are.  The bill collector has to assume you are lieing even when you aren't.

I don't even own a Capital One card!!! They just called me and when I answered, they hung up!!!!

That isn't a good idea. First of all you are using YOUR minutes!! Second of all, they will start calling you back a thousand times! I don't know about you, but I would be purely annoyed with these creepers calling me a thousand times a day!! I already get 10 calls a day!!

These calls are made from Allied Interstate debt collectors for people past due on CapitalOne accounts.  If a debt collector like Allied Interstate calls you back even one time after you tell them they have the wrong number for the debtor, it is likely a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  See fairdebtcollectionpracticesact.us  A complaint to the FTC will do nothing for you, they just put it in a database and eventually do something with enough complaints - like the Do not call list enforcement.  Check out the link I provided, you can still get up to $1,000 if they called you after you told them.  Good luck.

If you pick up the phone, and they ask for someone that isnt you, tell them that you arent the person they are looking for. It worked for me and they havent called me in like 3 months!!
