Interesting - my motherinlaw received one on Jan 2. The foreign accented woman asked for me and my MIL hung up on her once she realized what she was saying. We have lived in different states for 20 years, I have never lived at my MIL nor have I ever used her number as a contact for me.
  SCAM calls I put up with and understand the random calling sequences they use. However looking at this list of posts they are obviously targeting certain numbers.
  You could try setting up a phony response and lead them on next time they call. I have held such creeps on the line for as long as 30 minutes with circular conversations before they get ticked off at me and terminate. I really enjoy the "Fun with Telemarketers" articles. When I've got time and in the right mood I will pull some of those just for fun. I have also told the person calling that I died recently (I NEVER identify myself when they ask to speak with me ... I always ask for their name and who they represent and what they are selling. Most of them will give you that...)

Have been harassing us for months.  They called on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day...don't they even take one day off????? They call multiple times a day.  We don't have a Capital One account.  I am so frustrated.  Can't someone do anything about these people?????????

I get calls 4 to 5 times a day.  The first one is always at 8:10 a.m., the next at 11:30, the next at 2:45, and the last one is at 8:30.  Sometimes they will call around 5 p.m. to but that is random.  I work midnights and try to sleep during the day, this is getting ridiculous.  They are calling for someone whom I don't know and that has never lived here.  It is getting quite irritating and somehow they just don't seem to get it.

This number has all of a sudden started calling our house over the last couple of weeks.. I looked it up to figure out who it is... neither my dad nor I has a Capital One account, never have. We never answer when they call...and they never leave messages.... but they have been calling all hours of the day, yesterday and today  (saturday and sunday) starting at 8 a.m... this morning they called around 8:30, neither of us answered, and they immediately called back two seconds later. It's getting ridiculous!

I keep getting a call from the above number.  I get a call every morning especially on Sunday morning.  This is insane.  I do not have an account with Capital One.  Please stop calling!!!!!!!!!!!!

several phone calls from this number. only music on the answering machine. when I answered it, I was placed on hold for several minutes with the same music.  i hung up and tried to call back, said that I had reached them after hours.  then why are they calling me???

this number has been calling a family member trying to get a hold of me.  How do they know who is family when we have different last names and how do I get them to stop calling them?  The guy told the family member that his name was Max and it was for financial matters.

Have received calls from this number nonstop for about 1 month now. Calls came in at 7AM sharp and as late as 9PM.  This is getting to irritate the heck of me. Calls continue throughout the day and are nonstop. They never leave a message on the answering machine. In the last 4 days, I've received 30 calls from this phone number. Is this grounds for legal action?? you tell me...I think this is called Harrassment. I finally picked up the phone this morning and found out that this is supposed to be a company called Allied Financial. I did notice a heavy accent on the person who called. When asked for their physical/geographical location, I was told they were located in the Phillipines. To top it off, they were looking for someone that doesn't even live here.

I kept getting calls at the same time of day because I answered one time at 08:08am and hung up. So their system thinks there is someone home at that time of day.
I called back today and they confirmed the number I was calling from asked if I was (name of relative that used my name and phone # as a reference) I told them I didn't know them and they politely said they would remove my number.
I added "please remove my phone number",sense was supposedly being recorded.

I get a call from this number, at least 2, or 3 times every morning, sometimes no one is on the line, sometimes they would ask for my wife, but they will not tell me why, We had accounts from capital one, but they are all paid off..These guys are annoying, and probably trying to steal my wife's identity. When I got a hold of someone from this number, I expressed my anger in a way that they will never ever call again...

Finally figured out how to block these calls. call your local phone provider and put caller intercept on your phone, then you will be able to block all unknown callers and specific numbers like this one. also they let you make a special number to give out to family/friends just incase they have blocked numbers or somewhere where they can not call from so they will be automatically pushed through. hope i helped.
