When I told her to quit calling she said''do you know so and so'' and I said no and that I will NO longer answer anymore questions because I know they are a scam and that obviously pissed her off cause she hung up on me...I ASKED THEM 2 WEEKS AGO TO REMOVE MY NUMBER.They quit calling for a week and now they are back at it alllllllllllllllllllllllllll day long..

I keep getting a call from this number, I don't know why they keep calling with out saying a word.. I'm tired of it.  Something needs to be done about these unwanted calls.

I have been getting lots of calls from this phone number - every 20 min. (day, night, weekends). I called the number and they hang up.  What can I do to stop these calls?  Thanks,

8887484956 calls my work phone for an old employee at least 5 times a day, I've advised the rep numerous times that the person no longer works here that this is a place of employment please do not call here....they asked for another number for them and i laughed and told them i don't have any further information please stop calling...BUT they still call....Now i'm just gonna mess with them everytime

I keep getting calls from this number.  However, they keep calling my cell phone but my home number is on file on everything that I have.  I don't give out my cell number unless I know you personally.  I refuse to answer 800 numbers anyway.  I wish they would really stop calling me!

I keep receiving calls from this number and it has nothing to do with me. I've asked them for the last month to take me off their list. I finally bought a police whistle and everytime they call I blow it.

They had been calling my wife's cell repeatedly, and usually around 2100 each day. Called them and actually got a person. After I confirmed the person they were looking for hasn't had that number for a bunch of years, they said they will put her number on the do not call list, and after 48 hours it should be ok. Will wait and see.

I keep getting calls form 888-748-4956.  I hang up on them because I understand that they are a collection agency for Capital One Credit Cards, which I do not have.  I would like this harrasment to stop.  It's been going on for about a month, several times of day.

This number (888) 748-4956 has been calling for the last several months.  Starting at 8 am and now it has gone on until 11pm (CST) on a daily basis.  I know that I had signed my number up for DONOTCALL list but apparently whoever is connected to this number is not law abiding.  And for these people who have said that the company says they are Capital One,...well I too am NOT a Capital One customer.  I wish someone could do something about this number.

This number starts calling at 6:00 a.m.!  Wakes me up every morning, the caller ID says "Telemarketing" and they don't say anything when I do answer.  I thought it was against the law to call before 8:00 a.m.???  This borders on harrassment.

I was getting 3-4 calls a day. I have answered a few of the calls and the person on the other end has always had a very strong accent asking for a name I couldn't understand. No company name was ever given. I must have made them mad the last time I answered when I told them there was no one by that name at my number and asked them to take my number from their list, to not call me any more. I did not give them a chance to reply and hung up on them. I got 15 calls from this number that day and just about as much if not more every day since. I'm really getting tired of it.

They keep on calling for my son who is in jail.  They called at least 4 times in the last 24 hours.  I asked them last week to take my number off their list.

So these people have been calling 5-6 times a day for two weeks. I have called them back as no one is on the other end when I answer. They want your acct # and social security #. I won't give it. they tell me they cannot find out why they are calling without it. so I called Capital One (I don't have an acct but my daughter does and it is not overdue) and the customer service rep had never heard of them (allied) She called with me on the line as well to investigate. the guy from India stuttered a lot and told her he couldn't do anything without the info. after 15 minutes and some threats from the capital one rep he suddenly could look up the phone number. It turned out they were looking for someone else-my husband's sister-who is married, doesn't have the same name and has never lived here. He agreed to block my number but says it will take two days. the Capital one lady is pretty sure they are phishing.

I just read all of the posts here and it was very helpful.  I have had my home number for over 2 years and my cell number for 18 years!  Just started getting these calls yeterday (Sunday) morning.  First one I picked up and no one wa there, then they called my cell but I missed it, then they called the house again.  I picked up the person verified my name, said she was calling from some comapny I never heard of and then asked for my sss number.  I of course told her I would not give it to her and to stop calling me.  Four calls later I answered on my cell, again told the woman (who sounded exactly like the first one) that I didn't know who they were, that I have told them on my home phone, and now my cell, to stop calling me or I would report them.  Then I got another call!!!  I have reported them to every single source I can find and will continue to do so.  No legit company will EVER call you up and ask for your social security number!

I too have been getting these calls asking for someone I don't know. They verified the number and asked how long i have had it. I told them it was none of their business and to quit calling me.  Two days after telling them this I get another call asking for th originals persons wife.I actually got someone to talk to me a little bit. They wife in this instance was my ex-wife from over 12 years ago. Apparently they are looking for them for a debt collection. They called back 2 more times and I finally told them that I have reported them to the FTC and my attorney and if they call back they will receive a call from him. Hopefully this will end it.

i have been getting calls from this number all day every 3 hrs when i answer they hang up. it doesn't matter what number ring i answer it on they always hang up. and i refuse to call them back because i'm afraid to be charged ridiculous amounts of money for nothing!!!!!!!
