I don't even have a Capital One card... And they call me about 3 times a day... I've answered and there's no reply. So, I stopped answering and they haven't stopped calling, but they haven't left any messages. It's just annoying.

Every day and Sundays.  Refuse to answer.  To bad it's not possible to stop them.  The FBI links on this site are bogus too.

this number calls me all the time, 8am sharp. They call and hang up. I called them back and it sounded busy. I do not know what to do to make it stop. How did everyone else make it stop

I've only had my phone for about 6 weeks.  They have called every day, several times a day, since.  Today when they called for the 5th time, I told them that I was reporting them to the FTC and the Texas Attorney General's office.  They promised to remove my number, but I told them I'd been hearing that promise every day but still get calls.  

If they are calling your number by mistake, and continue, you do have the right to file harassment against  them.

I just called this same number back and they asked for some man named Randy Arcega and I told them this is a wrong number so the woman said that she will go ahead and forward this number to her supervisor so that it will be erased from their call list. I explained to her that this has happened to me about a year ago asking for the same dude and why hasn't my number been erased from the list yet. She had no straight answer. These idiots are irritating!

3:41PM, 11/22 - I let answering machine pick up, but no msg is left.  I picked my phone number when I signed up for phone service, so don't know why it is being dialed.

I've been getting a number of calls like this and it has started just lately.

Follow-up:  I rcvd calls from this number at 7am, 3:41pm and 6:05pm today.  After the last one I took a chance and dialed the number.  I also rcvd the Allied and "May I have your Capital One Card number (I don't have a Capital One card and wouldn't give the number anyway.)

I told the lady (sounds like a calling center in the far east somewhere, by the way) that if these calls did not stop I would be turning it over to my attorney.  I was promised that my number would be removed within 2 business days (that would be next Tuesday) - and I might recieve another call before then.

I said, that was fine - you have two business days.  After that I turn it over to my attorney and hopefully I could realize enough out of an harassment suit to keep me comfortable for next 10 years or so.

I have been getting calls from this number for days.  Once I answered without thinking and it was ringing like I dialed a number.  Have received several calls a day.  Today is Sunday and I have received about 4 missed calls from this number.  Am getting tired of it.  Doesn't show any caller ID.  How can you stop them?

They called asking for my daughter who has not lived with me for years. They would not say for what, but asked me to give her the number. They did identify themselves as Alied Interstate. Due the below reports, she called CAP ONE directly, from the phone number on her card, and a person from Allied answered. She determined that she had forgotten a small balance, took care of it, and that was that. So, it is possible that the call is legit. IF you have a Cap One account, call Cap One directly from the number on your card or your statement, and take it from there.

I wonder how they got your number.... shouldn't they have the number of the person with the account?

They call multiple times a day asking for a Suzanne Canada.  The person on the other end is from a company called Allied and their English is very poor, Suzanne Canada does not live at our phone number and we have asked them several times not to call us anymore yet they continue to do so.  Suzanne Canada is my Mom but she does have a Capitol One account and she never has, this company is grossly violating the Do Not Call List which we are on and they are getting very annoying.

I keep getting these calls too. I used to get them from 800-955-6600. It seems when one number gets too much federal attention they just change to a new number. From the searching ive done it comes up with the same exact scam. The only thing you can do to move on and not hear the phone call (for cell phones anyway, which it seems to hit most) is to save the number, set it to something funny like 'Ha, nice try!' and set it to no-ring on that contact. Its stupid but hey. One other thing to do if your so inclined is to answer the call and then set it next to a stereo or tv and just waste their time.

These people have been calling my husband numerous times a day.  when we ask about what it is regarding they just throw out any financial company and tell us that we're late on our payment.  Sometimes its for a mastercard, sometimes for a visa, sometimes the mention both.  It is totally rediculous.  Sometimes it is for Citi Bank, sometimes for Capital One etc.  The ask for our information and we never give it.  Their company name, given by them, is Financial Solutions Company.
Do not give them any information.  IF you were late on a payment, your company would send you a letter, or have your information.  Never give info to someone who calls you.!!!

I keep getting voice mails from this caaler asking for Ms. Avery since I recieved my new phone number as of January 2008.
