They keep calling every 5 to 10 minutes everyday including sunday. How do you get them to stop?

I want to block receiving my phone 703 752-1623 from nonstop calling 888-748-4956.

The caller id says telemarketing.  It clearly is not.  They are looking for someone who does not live here.  Asked to be removed today.  They call every hour.

for the past week we've been getting a call from this # from 8:30 am til .....

Yes perhaps a collection agency but....my payments are automated, go out on a regular schedule and above minimum so why would they call me? High pressure tactics to pay by phone/check..."it's for your own good sir!" There is some [***] under this rug.

These people have been calling our house for about one month. They call about every 15 min. Whenever I pick up - there's nothing there. They left a message saying it was Capital One and that they have exciting oppurtunities and to call. I had another Capital One person call and ask if I was a certain person and I told them no, we've had this house for 10 years, but that person has never lived here and I don't know them. They said they would stop calling and they haven't. But they call ALL day long until after 10pm and it starts 7-8am - and no one is there....weird. And it says Telemarketer on the caller ID when they call - I've never connected with anyone with this number so I'm not sure if it's the same Capital One people OR not because no one is ever there, but it's every 15 min for one month.....

i got my number changed now this # keeps calling me. today i called and hung up on all day long to show the how it feels.

This number has called for months and when I answered today and said rudely, what do you want I am on a non solicitation list she stammered and ask if I knew ***** *******, which is my ex of 30 years wife.  She had never had this phone number.

I counted how many times this number has called my parents house from Thursday-Sunday, 35 calls!!! They range from 8:15am to 8:56pm. Most of the calls aren't even an hour apart. I'm waiting for the next call so I can let them have it!

If it was so called Capital One then the caller ID would read Capital One and not Toll Free

I got 38 call in the past 24 hours from this phone number, I answer the phone and the line is then disconnected.  The average connect time is less than 10 seconds.  Others report it to be Capital One collection thugs...Can this be anything but harassment????
How can this abuse be stopped????

It rings once and then nothing - but had 5 calls today -

KEPT CALLING AND HANGING UP AT NIGHT!!!  I AM EXPECTED TO BE ALERT IN THE HOSPITAL EARLY IN THE A.M. AND MUST SLEEP TO BE ABLE TO FUNCTION.  I HAVE ELDERLY FAMILY WHO MAY NEED ME AND CALL IN THE NIGHT SO TAKING THE PHONE OFF THE HOOK IS NOT AN OPTION.  THEY ARE SEEKING SOMEONE THAT HAS NEVER DOES NOT LIVE AT MY NUMBER - DO NOT CALL!!!!!!!

Company/person calls 8x a day or so and will never leave a message. Not a real credit card company!

it's a debt collector...the off shore idiots at some credit card companies don't know what they don't read out of the binders....talk to them and make them go away, simple as that..

I get calls several times a day from this exact number. I can't block them, but here's what I did to make it better:

Add them to your contacts, and give them the name "Scam"
That way when you check your phone you will know right away not to answer. You could even add
a picture ID of something you associate with evil!

Make (using Audacity, which is free) a very short audio file, in mp3 format, of complete silence. (In Audacity you can generate silence: make it under a second.) Send that to the phone and make it an individual ringtone. As long as the phone isn't on vibrate, you won't even know that they called until you actually look at your phone and see "missed calls."

Also, if you have a smart phone there are call blocking apps, and my Dad downloaded one last night for his new Samsung Vibrant.

It is Sunday morning 8:03 AM and I get a call form them. Looking for a Jim.
I told them over and over and over that there is nobody here by that name and they also call and look for a R. martinez and Shelly something or another. I believe they were roommates at one time, sharing the same phone. we only had this number for a few weeks when the harrassing calls started and they just do not want to take 'No' for an answer.
So this morning I said 'Yes, this is Jim' and I am a female. And the voice at the other end stuttered and said 'This is Jim?' and I said'Well I used to be a Jim but I had a sex change and I am Jane now and don;t call me b ecause I am no longer Jim  or I get you for sexual harrassment.' I hung up laughing. Well, I am just sick and tired of that BS and the calls at all hours of the day and I have nothing to do with the people they are looking for except the unfortunate 'luck' to have inherited their phone number.

I got a call on my cellphone which I do NOT give out, only friends.  They started calling at 7:12 am CT and call 5 to 6 times every half hour.  I called back and it is allid State for a Capital One account the does not belong to me.  She wanted my DOB and SS# - I said no I'm not giving that out and hung up.  They called me right back, but I didn't answer.  I hope the call Lock blocked them from calling.

They called at 8:05 a.m. SUNDAY MORNING!  ... after many many many other calls that I ignore, thanks to caller ID.  Because my name is only under my initial in the phone book, they were looking for someone else whose name also started with "J".(Didn't know it was a collection call, and thank heavens no one is looking for ME in regard to a collection call.)  How annoying and inconsiderate is this?  I informed the woman (who finally came on the line after I waited  and waited  and waited) that she was in violation of the policy regarding collection and/or solicitation calls.   Don't know if that was true, but I sure impressed myself with my presence of mind to say that (and I think I remember something near that....)
