Same thing ... claiming I'm due a microsoft refund. Why can't these things be stopped!

"Cathy Jackson" computer voice supposedly from Microsoft but no caller ID.  Provider tags this as Scam Likely.

Called on landline.  Said from Microsoft and had been ordered to close.  Want to refund money paid for tech.

VM: My name is cathy jackson. I am calling you from microsoft refund department. Please do not hang up you have paid for your computer technical support few months ago we are calling to refund your money as the company has been order to close and please call. Our toll free number (888) 919-6138 to get your refund repeating. Again (888) 919-6138. Thank you.

Interestingly, I got a phony Microsoft "service alert" message (random) on one of the computers in my office last week warning of a threat...and telling me that I needed to call a similar number to this one to let a Microsoft agent log onto my computer to fix the threat. Although I had no intention of letting anyone log into a computer on my network, I did call in and when I asked the agent that took the call to prove that he was with Microsoft, he became very incensed that I would doubt he was with Microsoft.  Needless to say, I laughed at him and hung up.  BTW, there were no threats on the computer or on my network.  We are heavily secured. Fast forward to today and I get this call from the same or similar number...I'm think they might be related.  A multifaceted scam...

8/31/18 11:42 PDT  Don't answer anything any more that has a Tolll Free ID.  If legit, will leave msg.  None here and based on other reports it's the good old Microsoft scam trying again.

Same experience as others. I decided to call back just to annoy them. Spoke with a man with an Indian accent at the "refund center" and asked him what refund. He said he was with Microsoft and he asked me if I remembered calling Microsoft Tech Center? I told him no that he was not with Microsoft and he was nothing more than a jacka$$ and that he needed to get a real job, some morals, some ethics and that he needed to stop trying to scam people. He called me a mother...…. and then hung up! These people are just idiots to think that someone will fall for this crap they are pushing!

An area code that begins with "1" goes to India.

I've gotten the same message three days in a row, finally answered and told her if your company was told to close then you need the money more then me and not to call here again.

SPAM? 800 SERVI  Computer Scam Received unsolicited call.   Criminals looking for gullible victims.  Old scam to get personal information and Credit Card info.

They called me about a refund I called them back and they hung up on me

I received the same message today from this number however her name has been changed to Cathy Jackson.  Yes, this is definitely a scam and I am curious if anyone has ever called them back to get the so called refund.  I’m sure at that point they would want to confirm the CC account number to refund or bank account number for direct deposit, either way they now have the information they want to steal your identity and all of your money.

I broke with tradition and picked up the phone.  I didn't say anything, waited a few seconds, then a very poorly trained robot said "My name is Kathy Jackson", mumbled something about Microsoft, and said emphatically "Please DO NOT hang up" so I hung up.

Love how they first called as Microsoft, trying to get you to give them access to your computer. Now they want you to give them your credit card number so they can refund you for something that doesn’t exist!  SO STUPID!

micro soft only problem Is I use Apple, he wanted my phone number so I gave him the number of the FBI and address of 1600 Pennsylvania av Washington DC

Informed that the company I paid for services is no longer doing business. Advised to call above number in order to receive refund of payment.
