It'S A Scam.  You Call And They Require You To Participate In90 Minute Vacation Sales Pitch And Request Personal Information Such As Social Security Number.  Total Waste Of Time. Throw The Letter In The Garbage.

Received same letter (as reported above),  requesting household survey participation in "a marketing study and promotion" dealing with the testing of a "FREE Android Tablet Computer" sent by "Patricia Smith" w/ envelope return address, 1356 Holly Ave., Holly Hill, FL32117 and dubiously signed, Patricia Smith,  CCD Research, LLC.  The toll-free response number, however, is  (888) 986-8170.  I'm reporting this scam to both the Post Office and the Florida AG---hope Fl seniors aren't suckered in by the promise of "free electronics."

An online search says that the house property is owned by a  MARGARET E  SCIARA who bought this 672 sq. ft. home for 56k in 2003.

Patricia Smith also has the penmanship of a six year old - guess that may be who's signing these letters.

Same here - from Patricia Smith.  Told to call 888-986-8170 and give a package code.  I would receive an Android to test and fill out a survey.  Would never do it, but I can see why some would take the bate.  It looks legit, after all.  Thankfully, I am naturally suspicious!

My letter was a different number 888-986-8170 and when I called it was direct TV and they were not unpleasant but they were not happy. letter came from Patricia Smith in Holly Hill.

Just received a letter to day from Patricia Smith. The phone # is 888-986-8170.  I was tempted because it says no cost for shipping and handling, and I thought it would cost nothing so what did I have to lose. Then I remembered - if it sounds to good to be true it probably is - and I decided to Google the company name and I got to this site. Going to throw the letter away as soon as I finish posting this. I feel sorry for all the seniors that are going to fall for this.

I too attended the Global Vacation Presentation and was promised an Android tablet. After 6 weeks of not receiving the tablet, we called Simply Great Gifts. The woman we spoke to was very rude, refused to give her name and hung up several times. Apparently no one else answers the phone there. Global Vacations state they have nothing to do with the gift company yet they clearly state on their invitation that you are promised one. They obviously don't stand behind their promises so you have to wonder about their other services. Glad I did not buy into this and sorry I wasted 3 hours of my time! A total scam!!!

- Indicates a free Android Tablet Computer??? What??? is it an Android Tablet or is it a computer???
- Next the letter states to complete the included survey, The survey is superficial..
- The letter states to keep the tablet whether the survey is completed or not???
- Last, sentence: "You are under no obligation..." grammar is really poor.
My conclusion: this letter appears to be written by a person or a group of people where English is a second language.  After all this research, I double checked my excel spreadsheet of bogus companies, address and phone numbers. the number (888)986-81XX, matched.  My notes stated it was a free trip.
Once they got your number, they will send you all kinds of scam letters.
For kicks and giggles, I used Google Earth, The address Google Earth found points to an empty field opposite the side of a warehouse. LOL what a joke.

I got a letter from Patricia Smith, 1356 Holly Ave, Holly Hill, FL, offering me a cruise...of course I didn't call te number, googled the name and I saw all of these post! Shouldn't it be illegal to use the mail like this!?

Don't know what all the squawking is about. I got my free Android Computer Tablet. It's about the size a book of matches w/ a button battery for power. I think you can find these tablets at a Dollar Store.....

Got a letter from this same person (Patricia Smith), the number I had to call was (888) 986-8170. This isn't the first time I've received one of these letters.I read several blogs on this scam, so I called, told Ms Patricia Smith that I would be happy to give her a survey of the Android Tablet if for the entire 90 minute presentation she would shove the tablet up her [***] and keep it there.
