Got a letter for free cruise.  Did not go for the BAIT. SCAM!

Received scam letter 9.3.2013 from CCD Research, LLC, phone number 888-986-8170. Signature illegible but return address sticker says Cara Langley, 1648 Taylor Road, #464, Port Orange, FL 32128. Offers free Android Tablet Computer if I just fill out a survey.

I called  like  a fool and set up an appt for tomorrow but after reading this blog - I will NOT be going. Sad that there are people out there who feel they have to scam their fellow man. Letter has gone to the trash!!

My husband received the "free" cruise letter from "Suzanne Smith"... the fake name is owned by Classic Promotions & Premiums, Inc., which specializes in "direct mail and travel incentives." SCAM.

Got similar offer with NO small print.  Smelled like SCAM!

I received the same letter from Suzanne Smith but with toll free 1-855-833-2871 to call.

I got a similar "...win a tablet" snail mail from Cara Langley. Did my too good to be true research, then threw it all in the trash.

Got the same letter from Suzanne Smith, 555 8th St. address as well; w/Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Sea's color pix and RCI logo.  Toll free # was 888-514-1227.  These scammers have way too much time--their hands should be chopped off.

Just got one today 9/12/13.  This one is from Cara Langley at 1648 Taylor Rd. #464 in Port Orange, FL 32128.  I did not get a call from them just this random letter.  My telephone number is different from those listed above it is 888 986-8170 with a different pkg. code. I am in OH & will be letting the BBB know about this as well as the post office.

I got the same letter from Susan Smith today about the 8-day/7 night Caribbean Cruise. What a joke. I wish there was some way of stopping these crooks!

I just received the same letter from Cara Langley, Port orange FL.  2 free airline tickets.
Funny thing though, mine came from the "Gifting Department, Carolina Region Awards Division, Raleigh/Durham.

Remember people........if it seems too good to be true and the hair stands up on the back of your neck, believe the signs.....Rip it up and throw it away!!

I received the same letter from Suzanne Smith with the same address and phone number for a complementary cruise with Royal Caribbean.

Suzanne call me I have a free trip for you!

Got a letter from Cara as well and this explains why a # from Florida has been popping up on the caller ID of and on for at least a month now. Norwegian cruise lines(NCL). LOL.............wonder if I should call and thank them for the scrap paper that now sits in our collection of scrap paper for writing notes and grocery lists on!??!

Google them. They are a scam and rip-off. Better Business Bureau has numerous warnings out about them. They change names a lot. Some have gotten the tablet promised but most don't. And it's a cheap chinese tablet. You have to sit through a 90 minute promotion to buy a membership into an expensive travel club. Many have gone ahead and gone through the sales pitch and then either were asked to give up their social security number or have their drivers license photo copied. If you refuse (which you should) you don't get the tablet.

The old adage is still true: Nothing is free! Beware of CCD Research, LLC!

I too received a letter from CCD Research and listened to the sales pitch on the phone....which seemed to go on forever.  I set-up our presentation time and was told to be there early.  I asked if we were going to be receiving the Android Tablet, the girl assured me that we would be getting it at the presentation. So did a little bit of research and came upon this website and all the complaints, continued looking and was very much surprised to find this website:

Now this confused me a bit, because I have read all the complaints, yet Consumer Affairs has it with almost a 5 star rating, this prompted us to attend the presentation...which after reading the complaints we were not going to attend!!
We attended the presentation, watched the video, salesperson tried to convince us to purchase and again we said "No" I'm guessing his Manager came in and was really trying to push us to buy, but we stood our ground and continued with our "NO" was finally allowed to leave, well over the 90 minutes......BUT....We did leave with a very generic Android Tablet and some little vacation certificate.

I think the vacation certificate will go in the trash as I have read the horror stories about trying to redeem them, let's see how long the generic tablet works....

I got the Cara Langley return sender in Port Orange, FL. 2 Airline tickets and it says: they are yours! We have already paid for the tickets and you can book your flight at your leisure. It states that it's very important to note that I do  not have to purchase anything or join anything to receive these tickets. How can they get away with this? The phone # has "no match" on reverse phone look up and when I searched the whitpages.com, the closest Cara Langley I could find was a 94 year old in Tampa. Mine also came from the Gifting Dept at Carolina Region Awards Division in Raleigh/Durham. How are they getting our addresses? Is there a "do not advertise" website, like Do not call.gov?
