Called my cell phone today, which is prohibited by the rules governing collection agencies in Ontario.

Dropping a Cease and Desist letter on them tomorrow that they are engaging in a prohibited practice, and further calls will result in a complaint being filed with the Ontario Ministry of Consumer Affairs.

These guys are operating illegally.  They may not legally contact you legally more than once every 3 day.

They called and hit my voicemail yesterday, and they left a message, so that counts as a "contact".

They called again today and again hit my voicemail, and left a message, that counts as a second contact in less than 3 days.

D & A Collections violates the laws collection agencies are supposed to follow.   They are only allowed to contact you once every three days.  A "contact" is when they reach you or leave a message on your phone.  They have now called me 3 times in three days, leaving messages to call them back.  This is harassment.

These parasites don't represent anyone but themselves.   They purchase debts and threaten people into believing that they owe. You don't owe these parasites anything.   You have no contract with any of them and they have no power....just block them from calling and send them a registered letter demanding they prove in writing that you owe them.  And order them to stop contacting you ......

Just switched my cell number about 2 weeks ago with my cell company.
Got a call from this number, and missed it. Had a voice mail saying I have an urgent issue with Desjardins, and to call them back at another number, a 1-888-395-1147 number. Desjardins isn't my bank, I had a credit card through them in uni, but it's been paid off and cancelled for years now. I don't have debt... was panicking a bit actually, until I found this site.

Just got a call from this company. Im glad I did not pick up.

Your iPhone can block numbers straight from the box.

They say they are calling for an outstanding debt to American Express, I have not had an American Express card  for well over 20 years, and I did not owe them any money!
Stop calling you bunch of idiots!!!

keep getting calls from them its a collection agency saying they are collecting a dept for pc financial I find it interesting that an american company is collecting for a Canadian company its pathetic when a company outsources dept collecting to another country espeshaly one that allows such strong arm tackticks as the US

These [***] call me every day.  I have no debt and have never received any written notice from these jerks.
They are calling my fax line so they aren't going to get through that way.  These people are desperate and pathetic and you are right.....if I found out TD was behind this there would be some choice words thrown out to my local branch and supervisors.  The Royal Bank is also famous for using thugs and I divorced them long ago.

Calling a blocked number how do they get this and it's a private number. They don't tell you anything and are very rude something sould be done about companies like this what's wrong with the Better Business Bureau!!!

Have you read the laws? Collectors can call any of your number, the only one that you can stop them from calling verbally is your place of employment

Law only applies once the have made "actual" contact with you. After that the 3 call rule applies

I have had two different experience one was very rude calling me ignorant and curse me off after i asked him not to call and now another girl calling again after i asked please do not call because you have a wrong number

This is a scam!! tried collection money owed by a friend who doesn't' even deal with the loan agency. Wanted me to pay via credit card over the phone. DO NOT TRUST THEM!!

Just called my place of business asking for a co-worker. When told that she was busy and couldn't come to the phone, made it sound like there was an emergency regarding her soon to be ex husband. They were a collection agency after him not her but are now calling and harassing her at her place of business. Shameful!!
