First off, it does no good for people on here to post that they didn't answer, or no one said anything, or the machine picked up, no message left.  This tells people trying to check this number NOTHING about the caller.  Secondly, if you are truly interested in stopping these calls, plain and simple:  "Hello - Federal Communication Center - how may I direct your call?"  When they question this, come back with "You've reached an internal number at the FCC - how may I direct your call?"  TRUST ME, THEY HANG UP AND DO NOT CALL BACK.

I got a call today from this number at about 9 am. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. I assume this is another one of those "political surveys" because I've been receiving phone calls for the last 3 months from numbers I don't know in California and elsewhere and I answered once and it said politcal survey. I ignore these calls now, and like some one else that posted said, it's a good idea to save the number in your phone under a name that will remind you that you don't want to answer it. I have a pre-paid phone and don't appreciate machines calling me and wasting my minutes when I answer so I usually ignore all calls if the number isn't saved in my phone, and if they don't leave a message then it wasn't very important. Hoping the calls will stop eventually!

And how exactly does one talk to a machine? Because that's what most of these calls are from.....

Okay, amendment to first message:  "Federal Trade Commission" not "Federal Communication" - sorry about that.

I thought it went without saying that this would be for a live caller.  I guess it would be common sense that you cannot speak to a machine; however, if someone comes on the line [which is the case from this number with the "free cruise"] this is what I would say and this does work.  Thank  you.

Received a call from this number twice.  Everytime I answer noone says anything.

flood them with complaints because the DNC list is useless. with goverment budget cutbacks do you really think there's ANYBODY there who follows up on the complaints?

Just got a call at the Medical Marijuana Dispensary I manage.  I wonder if they want to discuss MMJ and its wonderful benefits?  Can't get more political than that!

It is a good idea, gotta give you that :P will have to try it sometime when I can actually get a real person on the line haha

These spoofed numbers are all from the same outfit. If you block one you have to block them all. I'm sure in the days to come they will just keep calling from different numbers.

Political survey

repeated calls - many times a day on my CELL PHONE, and home number, both of which are on the do not call list.

I receive an email when I miss a call.  If the caller leaves a message, I receive a transcript of the message in an email (this is enormously convenient, how I lived without this feature I do not remember).  It was puzzling to me to see a "missed call" email roll in without my phone actually ringing.  Caller did not leave a message.  Carrier is Verizon (the receptionist feature is Google).

Received a call from this number on my cell. Answered no one talked. Waste of my paid time.

This number not only calls my home phone, but they are calling my cell too!!!  Driving me CrAzY!!!!

My phone number is and always has been unlisted and private. It is also and always has been on the do not call list. I am so sick of these phone calls that I have decided to go out tonight and buy a whistle. From now on, anyone who calls me with these phone calls is going to have one hell of a sore eardrum! Reporting them does no good, so now I'll do it MY way!!
