- VeraI also just came home to a message on my answering machine that pretty much said the same things as the previous posts. Someone has filed a complaint against me, I have 24 hours to call back, I need to give the information to my attorney, there is a restraining order(which is weird one)...blah blah blah blah....The statute of limitations is up on the only outstanding debt that I had from 10 years ago. This is just another one of those companies that buys a bunch of old debts that nobody before them has been able to collect and the statute of limitations has already expired on. I am not going to call them back. I am just going to ignore them. I am however going to save the message(and any others if they call again) in case I decide to sue them. Obviously these people have not had the correct training in collections calls or they would know that when you call a person to collect on a debt there are certain laws you have to obide by. When you leave a message on someone's answering machine you are only suppose to leave your name, the company you are calling for, and a callback number. You are not suppose to leave threats.

- MiffedMy wife got a phone call this afternonn from a Jeff Matthews at 972-234-8700 stating that our daughter, whose name he had, was being issued a restraining order. I called back, but got no information. I don't know how they got our name or the name of our daughter.

- SusanI got a call from a man by the name of Chris Logan this am stating I am being sued and owe them money. He also called my father and was very rude. They have all my information as well. I contacted the Federal Trade Commission, and she verified that it is a scam, and advised not to give them any financial info. If it was a legitimate debt, they would mail me something, or something would appear on my credit report. My father was very upset and almost paid them, but fortunately called me, and did not give them any info. I hope this doesn't continue to happen to innocent people.

- Thanks to All of You!The same message was left on my phone today 9/8/11 - Rebecca Young Special Investigator with Legal Securities Bureau. The message was left on my land line for my poor disabled and handicapped senior citizen brother-in law. The fraud Special Investigator Young said that he (my brother-in-law) had 24-48 hours to call (972) 234-8700 because a restraining order was being issued in conjunction with an OSC (Order to Show Cause) and that he was being sued. She left a case number [TVA1575] and said that he should contact his attorney. What a scam. My poor elderly and handicapped brother-in-law is in a wheelchair and is almost deaf. He doesn't even live with me. Thank God for the Internet and thank all of you whom have reported this scam. Needless to say, I did not relay the message to him because there was no reason to upset him. Thank you all so much for taking the time to post this blog on the Internet. YOU ALL ROCK!

- This is too muchYaiks, I am in a process of researching this company. They left us a voice mail about obtaining an attorney or there will be a restraining order or some craft like that. If this is valid they should send the threat via mail with return and certified receipt. The threat should indicated on the letter with their company letter head. Save all your voice mail from this company and forward a complaint to ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE.

- scared to deathI also received this phone call one heck of a worst day anyone could have. It was the icing on the cake. A man by the name of Jeff Matthews was calling and told me there was a restraining order in place and I had to contact them with in 24 to 48 hours and also to contact my attorney. {could not give me any info on the person or business that filed the restraining oder} I was also to appear in court. Since I already had a bad day, I was not thinking clearly and had my son listen in on the call.
After the call I called our local police department and they said it sounded like a collection agency trying to manhandle me. I KNOW WHAT I owe and to whom so the police told me not to give them any info. I was not born yesterday and I did not give any info. In fact when we tried to call the 972 phone number, noone answered. We were put on hold listening to a recording the all agents were busy now and to please stay on the line. We stayed on for 10 minutes and then hung up. And their number came up on my caller id as private.
Please anyone getting these calls, DO NOT GIVE THEM THE TIME OF DAY!- Caller: Legal Security Bureau Dallas TX
- grammyIsn't it amazing. You see about these things happening to people on tv and in newspaper, but never think it could happen to you. I received the same call from same number and saying all the same things. His name was Willliam Ward. His threats sounded so serious and realistic.......one point tho.. I knew I did not owe this particular company any money. After a call to the police and filing a report, I looked on internet for this company which police researched and told me they were based in Dallas and to check them out on Better Business Bureau. I googled straight to them and this is where I found all of you. Pass it on to friends, neighbors, co workers and relatives to beware of this type of scam. NEVER GIVE INFO OR MONEY

- JUDY ELLISI have received several messages stating that I had a restraining order against me and I needed to have my attorney call within 24 hours. The person called was William Oakes stating he was a special investigator. This person also called my ex husband and told him that I have several complaints against me.
- Anonym| 3 repliesI recieved a phone call today while helping my son with his hygiene and my husband answered the phone. I called the number back because my husband was worried. He was told that I was being sued and would be visited with a subpeona for a civil act.
I called them back and gave the case # that was given to him. They quoted my maiden name and older address along with 5 of my social security numbers. I began asking questions and the young man was trying to speak so fast that I could not understand him. ( or so he thought cause I talk faster)
Anyway, he went on to tell me that I committed fraud and am being sued for the amount of $2300.84 on a master card through Wells Fargo.
I proceeded to express my disbelief simply because I do not have credit cards and haven't had any for over ten years that were not prepaid green dots or Visa's through the two credit unions I was in, and certainly CANNOT be awarded an unsecured card for even $50.
He went on to say that my assetts and bank accounts will be freezed until the court date. I went on to say, good luck with that, I have no assetts or bank accounts.
I tried to call them back since they hung up when I began asking what year and when is this court date supposed to happen and where. I tried to call back numerous times after that and no answer on either of the three phone prompts.
So I called the local Wells Fargo bank to ask about any accounts that might be in my name. There are absolutely none in the state that I live in and I haven't lived anywhere else. In addition to that, even though there were names like mine in their system, none of them had my middle initial or my married name. If I were going to try and open a credit card account, like my pre paid cards and my older bank accounts I would have my married name on them.
I am hoping they call me again. I want the opportunity to tell them how badly they have messed up and if I come across any accounts or anything else used in the name they gave me and with the partially correct information they have on me I will have my lawyer sue them for everything and they will buy me a house through my freakin foreclosure! - woodyi cant get a person on the phone i wish i could because i would love to screw with these people but they wont answer i am going to warn them that if they want to go to court call me again and i will file a phone misconduct charge against the company

- AnonymSame thing happened to me. They called my home, left a message. Called my cell phone at work and a woman named Lynn White gave me the same phone # and a EVO# to call and that I was being sued for $1,800 from HSBC. Then I find out they called my husband's ex-wife and told them they were looking for me and I was going to be sued and a restraining order put on me even after they had contacted me. When I called them back and finally got through on the third try, they told me the same story again. I told them I didn't know what they were talking about and was going to check it out. The man that I talked to said that I could do that and if I didn't respond quickly he would get a restraining order on me. I said, "restraining me from what?" He tried to talk fast and I just told him I was going to check this out and hung up. Got on the free credit report site and found nothing on my credit reports at all. Googled "Legal Securities Bureau called me" and got this site. Now I know they were frauds and wish something could be done about these crooks!!

- AnnoyedI received a call by a "special investigator stating that there has been a restraining order issued against me. I knoew this sounded fishy because there isn't anybody that I know that would do that. I researched the number and here I am. Do not answer your phone, let it got to voicemail.
- CrissumThe scammer's called my fathers number and left this message Agent Richard Williams @ the Legal Security Bureau case # OEV-2686. They said I had a civil case filed against me and a restraining order. Needless to say this really worried my dad. He is 70 and not used to people being dishonest. He comes from a time where everthing was a handshake and no one tried to steal from others. I told him not to worry and that it was all bs. I did a little checking to put him at ease, and all is well. This kind scamming and deception just keeps alll of us on our toes. I feel bad for the people that are trustin and get taken advantage of by such deviants.
Good luck to all you- Call type: Debt collector

- Tired of ScammersSpecial Investigator Jackie Smith left a voicemail on my husband's cell for a person that neither of us had ever heard of saying that this man had been named in a court case, claim number GFM1479, and had 24-48 hrs to respond and to give the info to his attorney who should call 972-234-8700. The call came up restricted on my husband's cell.
I want to thank all of you who took the time to post the calls you had gotten. The first thing I did was get online and search the number. I had pretty much decided it was a scam but with all of your posts it helped confirm it. A great big THANK YOU!- Caller: Didn't identify a company

- Angela WMy elderly mother just phoned me frantic that she got a call from a woman claiming there was a suit against her. That she should call 972-234-8700 and provide a similar case # as shown on the other posts here. The woman told her she could not elaborate on the suit but if she called the number, they would tell her more. Now that I've read what a scam this is I can let her know she need not worry. These people need to be investigated! Senior citizens can easily be convinced to provide their personal and financial information to these scammers!
