- Spud ManJust rec'd a message today from Steven Cross (actually three) telling me that I'm being sued, I need to call these people back within 24 to 48 hours. I call the number 972-234-8700 (because of some past issues, I'm wanting to know if this is legit), give them the case number and the guy wants to know my name. I said, "don't you have that in your file?" and he becomes very rude, telling me he won't "play this game", and asks me again. I repeat what I said before and he becomes even more rude. I really think if this was legitimate, they would be anxious to talk with you as normal people would.
Don't give them any info over the phone. And don't take any crap from them!!- Caller: Legal Securities Bureau

- ACJOn September 27 2011, i just received a phone call on my voice message from this phone number; the guy said his name was STEVE MCCROSS and he was a personal investigator. He left a threatening message with a claim number for me.After one of my family members called the number and wanted to find out who they were,Icalled the number and a guy NOT MCCROSS asked me if i applied for any pay day loans in January of 2011 over the internet. HE said the company who wanted to sue me was the PAYDAY LOAN CORPORATION and he explained they represent all payday loan companies.I do remember submitting an application over the internet for a loan, but I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY MONEY DEPOSITED INTO MY ACCOUNT AS OF TODAY'S DATE WHICH IS SEPTEMBER 27,2011,NOR DID I SIGN or E-VERIFIED ANY PAPER WORK AGREEING TO HAVE A LOAN DEPOSITED INTO MY ACCOUNT FOR BLAH BLAH AMOUNT. I told the guy this. Then all of a sudden he was like well the company charges you to search your name. Itold him i have no money, and i'll see u in court. He mumbled off something to me and hanged up. What a scam! Thank YOU Jesus for these web sites where others can post helpful /truthful information:-)

- NEI received a message on my phone saying I or my lawyer needed to contact them within 24-48 hours as I was being sued. They gave me a case number and told me i needed to call 972-234-8700. At the end of the message they said good luck. The funny thing about all this is that not once on the voicemail did they mention any names in my household. Legally a voicemail canNOT serve as legal notice.
By the way I contacted them to see who they were trying to reach on my phone and guess what not for my household. If you do call them back do not give them any information just the case number they left you and make them give you your information.
This is def a scam....- Caller: Legal Securities Bureau

- Tabitha MillerThe message I received was for my husband. I work in a field that deals with court documentation frequently and of course freaked out. Then I started noticing some red flags first thing I noticed was that the format of the "affidavit" number was unlike anything I had ever seen I called the number and listened to the message and got the company name. Then started searching it out .
My question is if they are truly a scam and not just bad debt collectors improperly collecting on legitimate debt why I am not finding anything on them from anyone OFFICIAL. Like the FTC- Caller: Legal Securities Bureau

- gramma 123These people are nothing but crooks, they called my daughter and said that they were looking for me, because I owed for a payday loan from Cashnet.com, I have never borrowed from them I can barely use the computor. She was going to pay but thought she would call me first, and I told her no way its got to be a scam. They say they are a Legal Office collecting a debt, and that a subpeona was issued for me, I called them back and told them we had reported them to the police in her city and that I had also reported them, the lady yelled at me and said YOU ARE SICK LADY,and hung up on me.THEY ARE A SCAM, THEY ARE CROOKS

- KRThese people called my parents and informed them that I was going to be sued if I did not call them back. I called and talked with the individuals and they indicated that I had not paid a phone bill from 2005-2008. I had never heard of the phone company (Express Telephone Service - Telecom) and the number on-line was not working. They were trying to get payment from me when I decided to hang up the phone. The collection department called me back and got very nasty with me regarding payment and indicated that a subpoena would be issued. I indicated that I thought they were a scam and that my lawyer would be contacting them. I am reporting them to the Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission.

- JessicaI received a voice mail stating that I was being sued and have a restraining order against me. To call William Oates at number 972-234-8700 with afvidavit number. I called my husband upset. He asked me to text the numbers that were given to me. He called them and then called me with a three way because they wouldn't release any info to him. He added me on The man talked so fast I didn't get his name, but the company he worked for was Legal Security Office. He first wanted to verify my birthday. It was wrong. Then he asked my address which was 10 yrs. old. I of course being weak I corrected him on the info he asked me. Then he asked my the first 5 digits of my social, stupid me, I gave it to him. He said I owed Bombardier Capital Mortgage Company 47,000. I could either go to court or pay 50 cents on the dollar. I told the man that Bombardier went out of business years ago. He disagreed. My husband piped up and said contact Bombardier and ask them what they would settle for. The man said he was putting us on hold. It got silent and I asked my husband what was going on and he said he didn't trust the man and then man said why wouldn't you trust us. My husband very upset said I thought you were putting us on hold. The he hung up which disconnected the three way. Then we found out it was a SCAM!!!!! Turns out Bombardier did go out of business in 2004. The house we bought through them was repossessed and we never heard from anyone again on the remaining balance.

- Richard| 1 replyThey called my wife while she was at work, called my in-laws and left a message on our home phone. They emphasized they WERE NOT a collection agency - they are a LAW FIRM that sues people. Only problem is they could not give any specifics on our "case". When asked why they had no specifics, they stated the debt collector had that information. They claimed my wife took out a pay day loan in 2005 from Cash America Cash Advance. The only problem is they claimed our address at that time was one that we would not move to for another 2 years. They must have a crystal ball! Or better yet - scammers. This is totally bogus BS. They had the first four digits of my wife's SSN and used buzz words like affidavit, subpoena, restraining order. I contacted my attorney; who called them and this is what he sent me afterwards:
Your mystery caller traces back to Intellidebt Corporation, 7900 CHURCHILL WAY APT 6103, DALLAS, TX 75251-2027. It’s a Delaware Corp, with offices around the country, President is Bob McCallan in Dallas. The phone is answered by a machine that claims to be “Legal Securities Bureau.” I eventually spoke briefly with a young woman who was clearly working from a script and not very sophisticated. From the background noise, it clearly sounds like a boiler room operation. The woman hung up quickly when I asked whether it was a law firm or a collection agency. “Legal Securities Bureau” is not a business name registered in Texas, as far as I can tell, nor does it show up as an affiliate or trade name of Intellidebt. It would be a clear violation for a law firm to do most of what has been done here. Your first 4 SSN digits would be commonly available, though the last four digits typically are obscured. You can be subpeona’d as a witness in an action, or you can be cited and served to answer a suit, but if they want you to appear in court about a debt they are going to have to make service on you, and damn well better have a valid legal basis to do so. No indication thus far that they have such a basis or intend such action. I think this is a scam, pure and simple. Similar activity at https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-972-234-8700 ,the number your call originated from.
I am also very good friends with a federal marshal. They have screwed with the wrong people. I will be pursuing this.- Caller: Legal Securities Bureau

- MARDrooling, open-mouthed, semi-literate, "special investigator" 'Chris Logan' read a script (at about the 4th grade level) and paused just long enough before reading his own name to give the scam away - the same scam noted by so many others with key scare phrases such as: 'restraining order', 'subpoena', etc. the amazing thing is that they phoned an ex-wife (of many years) despite the fact that i would have been very easy to find with a phone book.
In a way, one pities these people for thinking this is a reasonable way to make money - but i guess it beats living under the freeway, which is where i'm sure they were recruited. But i'd have more respect for them if they just stood on the shoulder of the road with a cup!- Caller: Legal Security Bureau, Dallas TX
- az replies to Momof4onrestrainingorder lolI too received two messages from William Oakes(Special Investigator) today about a restraining order being filed against me. Thank God I checked the internet before calling. Is there way to stop this scam?
- BrandiReceived a call from my father in Alabama (I live in TX) who said he received a disturbing voice mail about me. "Special Investigator" Jeff Matthews called stating that a complaint had been filed against me and that a restraining order was involved, and I had 24-48 hours to call, appear in court, and dispute charge. Said to forward to my attorney. Affidavit reference number: MEP1163. Thanks for scaring my dad, jerk!

- Mark M replies to Too Annoyed| 2 repliesI received a call last night from Legal Securities Bureau at 6:45 pm. A Darlene Brown left a voice mail, she listed herself as a Special Investigator. She said I or my attorney needed to contact her within 24 to 48 hours regarding a restraining order. The number she supplied was 1-972-234-8700. I am a law abiding citizen and have never had any legal issues. I called the number , and come to find out, I was being sued by a XPRESS Telecommunication Services for the amount of $673.00. I have never had that company in my life. The lady on the phone said I had two options, make a payment over the phone or receive a summons to appear in court. She was very cut and dry, she had my name, address and cell phone number. That is ALL she has . I contacted my attorney and he is checking in to this for me. DON'T GIVE UP ANY OTHER INFORMATION....PLEASE
