    Really odd.
Today I called an indian guy because I was looking into buying a car from him.

The today for the first time I get a call from this number, but I didn't answer it because it looked really weird.
They must have some weird tracking thing that tracks other Indian people's numbers or something really weird I can't explain it.

416 342 1545 was the number I got.  Something mumbled into voicemail about the "national gift centre offering me vacations".

Interestingly, call it back with your number blocked, and they don't answer!

I just received a call from this number about five minutes ago.  The voice saying "Hello" sounded Indian, possibly Hindu and I immediately asked "Who is calling?" and the man hung up.

Just received a call me a person named "Stewart Clark" claiming that I won 1 of 5 prizes. This call came in a 7:10pm Wed., Jan. 16th,2007. Proper business call are not made at 7:00PM !!! He first asked to speak to the "responsible person to whom this number belong to"!!!The prizes ranged from a 50 Inch T.V to a Cruise paid with flight. The address that I was Given is: Gifting showroom,Building #216 Chrislea Rd., 2nd.floor,suit #202, Woodbridge, Ont,L4L - HS5. He gave me a call back number  416.342.1547, which caused me to raise an eyebrow, because all Woodbridge phone numbers generally start with a (905) area code. I qustioned him on this and he told me that the company had moved from Missaussaga? I asked to speak to his Manager. The names were Chad, and Robert....no last names, no titles? I told him I call hime back. I just wanted to check out the number. He asked, is a very concerned way that If I was going to call back; and when!Sounds fishy. If anyone has won any of these aledged prizes, please let me know at djdj102@hotmail.com. Thanks

Got a call on my cellphone stating i had won a prize or a trip to Mexico and that a ballot was choosen in a mall. That is bull because first of all i never been to a mall that i handed a ballot. Than they proceed to say that if i am over 30 and ive been choosen to go to an address presentation. I said my wife is away on vacation and they said no need to worry just bring someone with you over 30. He then wanted me to talk to his superviser and i knew than this was a scam so i hanged up. The number appears several times on my cell.

I just got the same call as most of you.  At first I thought they were trying to mine information to sell, but it looks like they are trying to lure you into some sales pitch.  What a crock of [***].  Sounds like an outsourced asian call centre that qualifies people and then forwards to someone on local soil to finish.

If you actually win a prize from a real company they just call to tell you that you won and congratulate you, they don't weave some complex tale like this.

My favorite is the Indian accent with the western name.  I know [***] loads of Indian people and not one of them is named Rupert or John.

I just got the exact same call.  I was given the same phone number and address and promised the same prizes.  There is no way they hand out prizes of this calibre randomly like this.  It's a scam to lure you there and make a sales pitch to you.

I just did a little googling and found some more info:

It's like a complex time share sales pitch.

I just got the call about 20 minutes ago. Dude with an Indian accent, telling me I had won a prize from a form I had filled out at one of the 1,000 retail stores they are partnered with in the Brampton area, but he didn't know any other details beyond that. When I told him I definitely had not filled out any ballot, he asked me what T-shirt I was wearing on December 22nd. I said I have no idea and he's like "well if you don't remember that how would you expect to remember if you filled out a ballot a couple of months ago?", at which point I hung up on him. He called back a couple of minutes later but I didn't answer.

I had a call from one of your employee's, my girlfriend hung up the phone because she doesn't like telemarket calls. The man, which was an Indian, called back. I asked him not to call anymore and hung up on him. He called back again saying I was rude and said he would call back a hundred times if I don't talk to him. I told him that nobody here wanted to talk to him and not to call back. He sarcastically replied "ok, love you". I think that all of this was uncalled for and am very pissed off. This happened Jan 23, 2008 at 7:32pm. Please fix this problem or I will be forced to call the police about harassment. Thank You.

Just received a call from this line indicating they were TVS "The Vacation Store" and two accented voices (indian or tamil) indicated that I won a guaranteed prize.  Wanted personal info and wanted to schedule me to meet at a specific address on a specific day and time.

    216 Chrislea Road, 2nd Floor
    Suite 202

Avoid, sounded like a total scam.

South Asian male called from 1-999-299-7676 saying that I have won a prize from a ballot I filled out during Christmas. Prizes were either a cruise, plasma TV, $1000, 1 week at a Hilton hotel with golf clubs, trip to Orlando. When I started asking questions, I was transferred to his "manager", another South Asian male. When I asked him who they represented, he mentioned a couple of names, National Gifting Centre and TVS Company or TBS Company. I was unable to make out the latter because of phone static. The manager also explained that it was companies that I made purchases over $100 over Christmas that had entered the ballot for me automatically. After asking me for some personal information (age 30-65, martial status, annual income (over $50k)) he asked me if I will pick up the prizes the next day (Wed) or the day after (Thurs). I declined. I said that weekends would be better and the manager said Saturday at 3:00pm, 5:00pm and 7:00pm. He also insisted that I come pick up the prize with my spouse. I said I would call him back as I "confirm" with my non-existent spouse.

His name was 'Robert' and the phone number was 416-342-1547. The address was 216 Chrislea Road, unit 202, Woodbridge, ON, Canada, L4L8F5

Guy called about 5 min ago, saying i won one of their 3 prizes. Mentioned that my phone number was taken of a ballot filled out at a mall during Xmas time, which I dont recall doing. They didnt ask much, i did a back track to the company is a telemarketing company called "National Gift Centre" based in Etobicoke, Ontario. I also did a history track based on the company but there were nothing about them.
About to contest, was for people between 27-67, hitched (married or coupled).

got the call a minute ago. didnt answer.

it's funny, after reading this, and finding out theyre located in mississauga.  i purchased my phone from a rogers store out in 'sauga, the owner of the store is indian (i know him personally actually from previous work).  he also got a me a new phone number.

do you think perhaps some rogers stores sell phone numbers to telemarketers?  makes sense to me, they get money from it and also drive up network usage from people who pick up the calls.
