- somedude| 1 replyThe guy had an indian accent. He asked me if I had an accent, even though I wasn't born here, I know I don't have an accent.
He also told me I sounded very young, I told him I was 23, and he said someone who was 27 had to collect the prize. He gave me this phone number to call back when there was someone who was 27 who could collect the prize (which I don't plan to do): 905-9637365
oh and the prize was a draw of one out of three, a ford explorer, something else I missed and a free vacation- Call type: Telemarketer
- jsGot a call tonight from them too, claiming they're called "Premium Buyers Club". First an Indian lady, then transferred me to an Indian guy. Said I filled out a ballot Dec. 18th of last year and they're following up, told me I won one of 4 prizes. Started asking me to set a date to go pick up the prize. The guy started asking for my name (gave him false info, was curious where this crap was leading). Then he kept asking me to bring a girl with me to pick up the prize. Seriously, WTF?! He hung up after I told him I was gay and single. LOL

- Caller 9999NATIONAL GIFT CENTRE SCAMSTERS called me May 21,08, an East Indian sounding girl and asked me to show up at the Woodbridge location, asking for my personal information, am I age 30-65, do I have a common-law, boyfriend? etc. sounded way too funny because I said it's personal and none of her business and she hung up. there was static on line as well. the number was 905-366-7059 and belongs to Summit Energy company, a legitimate company and someone already notified them about the scam. I feel sorry for the people who get caught up with the idea of a prize and give them valuable personal information. Don't be silly people! Nothing is for free! Unless you won the lottery and that's what your lottery ticket says all rest is a scam! Don't buy into it!

same spiel...indian guy called saying i had filled out a ballot at a mall w/no name...when i asked what mall he disgruntly responded "i don't know we have these things all over ontario." Said i wrote my number down but no name...huh? if i wanted to win something wouldn't I write my name down?
said i had to be 27 and older but under 63...
me: 27?
guy: are you 27?
me: no...
guy: how old are you then?
....so wait...don't these ballots usually ask how old you are?
i don't know what the hell this thing was but he better not call again. - Heather| 1 replyCalled about a ballot that I filled out at a mall (which I didn't do) Said that they had my phone number, but I didn't write down my name on the ballot. I had to be 27 to claim some prize in Etobicoke.. (im just a kid)
Started asking me questions about my mom and her marital status ... ? Then said she needed to claim prize for me and bring a credit card with her "for identification"
Also wanted her to lie about her income

- Anonymous replies to HeatherI have the same experience. I got a call from the Indian accent guy yesterday. he stated that I filled a ballot in a shopping mall during christmas time but I didn't out down my name. I asked him which mall and store but he didn't tell me. I was told that I won one of the 3 prized: Cadillac 2008, 46" Toshiba TV, or trip to Bahamas. Address given: 6877 Goreway Drive, Unit 2. Mississauga. Company's name: Estella International.
His name Ronny. Call back number 416-907-0430. This is totally a scam! - Latino23Hey Everybody! - AnonymTHIS IS A SCAM!!!! Rec'd a call today on my cell telling me that a ballot I completed at a shopping mall was selected and I won a prize. The malls mentioned were Fairview Mall, Scarborough Town Centre and JC Penny. A few months back I had received the same type of call at home and hung up on them. I told him that I wasn't interested! They don't have your name ... but they expect you to show up with ID to claim your prize. I think this is an attempt to steal one's identity. Guy on the phone had Indian accent.

- Irritated in 416I just received a call from these idiots on my Cellphone. It is unlisted and only a few people have it. I've never had a telemarketing call on it before. The man asked, "is this xxx-xxx-xxxx" and I asked who was calling. He said "Geo..." and I interrupted him saying whatever he was selling, insurance, time shares, cemetary plots, etc I wasn't interested. When I paused for a split second he started to say something else so I told him that I don't talk to slime who call cellphone numbers at random and try and sell me something while talking at my expense. He started to say something else and I hung up. Then I looked up the 999-299-7676 on the internet and found this forum. He didn't get enough chance to talk to reveal any accent. I'm glad my instantaneous reaction was the right one.

- anonJust called me...hung up when I said "hello"...shouldn't have answered a 999 area code anyways...knew it.
- W.T.| 1 replyI also received a call yesterday at 5:19pm from a man with a Russain-sounding accent. I could be wrong. He was also telling me that I had won a prize. My number had apparently been picked from among thousands and I was eligible for a prize. I have never entered a contest of any sort, especially one where I wrote down my number. I told him that I was busy and (haha) to call back later (when I would be more in the mood to deal with this [***]).
- W.T. replies to W.T.he also repeated my number twice by the way.
