- barcodeThey just called again. I haven't answered the last few times. Answered this time to tell them that I am calling the police. The guy said that he's interested in me and doesn't know why I'm not interested in him for marriage. He said "What about our future kids?".
I hung up. Is this even something that you report to police? Also, can they get your address from your cell number? I'm feeling creeped out here. I'm home alone and the imagination is running wild.
Should just shut my phone off, but why should I and miss other calls? This is MY phone. I pay the bills.- Caller: Impress Intl, National Gift Centre
- Call type: Telemarketer
- anonymous replies to Mumto2I just searched the number because a man with an accent that seems like he comes from South East Asia. He said, "What you hang up on my manager? He is going to come over and [***] your wife. And then the message continued. It's interesting since I don't have a wife and most likely will not since I am female and then again I was out of town when someone supposedly hung up on his "manager."
- barcodeThree more calls today. The last two from "blocked number".
- EutopiaJust ignore these calls...something definitely very sleazy about them.
- CoconutHe called me today, laughed and hung up... Does answering the call cost u any money?
- A girlReceived a call this evening from this number. Luckily didn't hear my phone ring, they didn't leave a message.
- Caller: 1-999-299-7676
- david replies to pfsI have invastigated for this. Do not answer this phone. When you answer it, your phone bill will be charged. This information come from my friends who works in a phone company.
- comotoze replies to AJJust got a call from this number, saying i won something after filling out a ballot. Caller, with heavy Indian accent identified himself as Jeff Cornell(laughed). I recently filled out some ballots in bars and thought that i might have won, but i felt something suspicious. He then asked if my age was 27-69 and I understood that they sell time shares. i asked him why was my age important, legal age for playing ballots and lottery is 19 years here in Canada, he had no answer for me. I had a good laugh
- BBNo sense of decency at all...when can we have a more civilized society?
- TheDudeGot the same call, guys. I am suspicious by default - so i think i fished more fake info from them, then the fake info they got from me :) This was fun on a rainy weekend.
First guy - heavy accent, to a point that I could not hear some stuff he was saying. Asks to verify my number - which I did, no surprises there (he IS talking to me - what's the point of verifying the number, that's your first clue).
Then goes the whole 9 yards, matching the story exactly as in most other posts here.
I figured, let me mess with the poor fella for a bit. So this is what I got from him:
Company: premium club
callback number: 416 907 0430
His name: ray smith (yeah right...if you could only speak English)
How they got me: grocery store zellers, lottery ballot last christmas
Their address: 1510 drew road, unit 6 (another sign this is bogus)
Dixie / north of Derry, Mississauga, L5S 1W7
I setup a pickup at 10:15 tomorrow :)
Even got my claim number - kan81
Caller ID (both calls) 1 999 299 7676
Then forwards me to the "senior manager" (another Indian-sounding telemarketing moron). So i ask him the same info - name: Steve Micare. Phone number - same... 416 907 0430.
Starts leaning in asking my first/last name, if i am married, if we are both over 27, if we are making a combined 50K or more... I mean, what planet are you from?
You call me out of the blue, you don't know who I am, you just lied straight into my face about everything I asked, and now you expect me to just fork over my identity? You want my social with that?
This is where I get difficult and ask, if he would mind that i run a trace on their number and report this call to the cops. The guy asked me what I just said...
Anyway, it was fun to mess with their run books - I am sure they had to improvise here and there.- Caller: Premium Club
- JaneI received a call from 999-299-7676 today at 1:03pm while I was peacefully eating my lunch at work. I normally don't pick up weird numbers but my curiousity got the best of me. So a south asian man said that I won some one of four prizes because I had filled out some draw at a mall.
The man was actually very polite (which made it seem ok) he asked all the same questions, married?, $50K +, etc. He said that he had to have my confirmation that I would be attending before he would disclose the address, which I said ok because I totally wanted to see what was going on. So he passed me onto his "Senior Manager" who was of indian/pakistanian decent.
This man told me not to bring children, pets (who the hell would?) and other guests. Oh, and he said that I had to be 27-69, and I told him I was only 25 and he said, "well we will just keep that between you and me" That seriously creeped me out!!! Then he went on to tell me to bring my DEBIT CARD and CREDIT CARD to the place as IDENTIFICATION??!!! Right, so I actually booked the time, (just to get off of the phone) and set it for tomorrow at 1:15pm. Oh, and they asked me for my Home number (because they called my cell) and I declined (Soo, glad I did that)
Seriously someone needs to actually go to one of these things. This is ridiculous! K so here is all of the stupid info they gave me.
Address: 1510 Drew Rd. Unit #6
Corner of Dixie and Derry
Promised it would be no longer then 90min.
Said that there would be light refreshments and then a sales pitch (promoting products etc.)
Call back #: 416-907-0430
Gift confirmation code: kan81 (which happens to be the same code as everyone elses? weird! h aha)
Ummm, k so wouldn't it be great if the cops should up at one of the times someone booked and did a beat down! HA HA .... seriously.
I really hope they don't call me back.... I am KINDA pissed.
P.S I feel like a schmuck cause they had me on my cell for like 20min.

- TrishSame crap. Guy with an Indian accent speaking at the speed of an auctioneer, telling me I had filled out a ballot at Sears or Zellers and thereby won 1 of 4 prizes (trip, LCD TV, $1500 cash, or another trip). I was immediately suspicious, but I do in fact recall entering a draw some time ago so I decided to listen with a grain of salt just in case.
He asked me if I was between 27-50-something (can't remember the exact age). Then asked me if I earn over $50K. Gave me an address and time to pick up the prize. He initially told me I could go on Tues, Wed, or Thurs at 6pm or 8pm, but then really pushed me for Tues. I agreed on Tues at 8pm (I have no intention of going).
The address is:
1510 Drew Rd. Unit #6
Corner of Dixie, North of Derry
Mississauga ON L5S 1W7
Then I was transferred to another guy with an Indian accent to confirm all the details. Also talking at the speed of an auctioneer. He must have read off 5 legal size pages of 9pt font without taking a breath. (Yet, ironically, he told me that I spoke too fast when I gave single word answers to his questions.) I was struggling to hear everything, trying to catch the scam and as many details as possible to report them later. He repeated basically all the same things as the previous guy and said I would have to attend a 60-90 conference, that I'm not obligated to buy anything, and that I would receive the prize at the end. He said I would need to provide the following information when I arrived or I would be disqualified:
2 pieces of ID
Same name, marital status & income
Confirmation code: KAN81
He also said that since I identified myself as single, I MUST show up alone - no friend, no boyfriend, no guest. That really pissed me off. As a young single woman, there is no way in hell I would show up ALONE at some strange warehouse in the middle of nowhere at 8pm at the demand of some pushy stranger on the phone who I can barely understand.
He asked me what time he could call to confirm my attendance. I offered two different times until he said "we'll call you at 2pm."
Might I also add that they contacted me on my cell phone during Thanksgiving dinner with my family.
As soon as I got home, I researched this company & phone number to see if I could find out exactly what their scam is and who to report them to. I'm looking forward to their call tomorrow. I'm going to thank them for providing me with so much information about them, tell them I've registered on the National Do Not Call List and threaten to report them to the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Act if they call again.
Perhaps they got my info because I recently purchased an Apple iPhone, which I heard is a security issue, easily targeted by spammers & telemarketers?

- another oneThis one didn't go as far as the others. The man on the phone politely stated his first name which was too quick for me to catch. Then verified the number he dial was the one he reached, which was correct. He then went on to state that he was some sort of manager and he was verifying... and then he hung up.
- GCI never actually answered the calls coming from this, but they kept coming as I was googling the number and another. The last time I put my cell no. down on something was when I was putting my info down for my OCAS(Ontario college application services) online, coincidence?
BTW for those of you in Canada who don't, National Do-Not-Call-List just started awhile ago https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/index-eng- Call type: Telemarketer
- katAn Indian guy called me and told me he loves and and likes to hear my voice. that hes been looking fo rme. When i asked him to tell me my name, he couldnt answer.. so i hung up.
Here's my reasoning behind this... a LOT of call centres for Canadian and American companies are based in India. I think a lot of immature Indian guys are pissed we live in abetter nation and just call us to yank our chains - unexpectedbecause im not used to seeing a 999 number i picked up...thought it would be interesting...and it sure was...this guy on the other end told me i won some prize...and he had my number on a list since i filled out some ballot....and kept persisting that i take the prize...till i told him i just got a new phone and my number was changed....he was mistaking me for someone else..and then he just hung up on me... now that people mention it...he did hv an accent.
- anonymouse - the way I like it.I, opposite of the guy who posted above me, didn't bother answering the call from this number specifically because I've never seen a 1-999 number before. Plus I usually don't answer 1-800/1-888 numbers that come to my cell phone. If it's important they can leave a message. And obviously this call wasn't important because they didn't leave a message.
After reading this website, I happily added this phone number to my blocklist application on my blackberry, along with the other number that called me a couple days ago -- (000)000-0000... haha- Caller: unknown
- Samgot a call from them, very shady, can't believe this is still going on. I immediately hung up after he couldn't give me the address unless transferring to his supervisor.
They seem to be changing the prize descriptions, just googled about them, impress international and came to this website- Caller: impress international
- JolkaSame happen to me. The indian guy called said that I won something and he gave me an address to go 1510 Drew Rd, Mississauga. I agreed to go... I also said to him that my phone number on DO NOT CALL LIST... I will go tomorrow with my husband and I will get their business card and I will report them that they are calling to number on DNCL :)... May be I will collect that price after all :)
- Caller: Premier Club - Introduced themselves...
- IMPORTANTokay guys, so i don't know if you guys have this feature in your phone but if you go to SETTINGS and click on CALL it should give you a list of options, under that there should be an option of CALL REJECT, just add them to that list, so their calls will go directly to voicemail, and if you don't have voicemail wel well well lucky you! When they called me, their caller id showed up as 'jessica'
