Calls from "Unavailable" or "Private"
- JohnCalled cell today at 10:59 AM, left no message. CID simply said "unavailable".
- John replies to Dright| 1 replyWindows flag and R key brings up the Run dialog box.
- GregAtTheBeach replies to JohnDo you think Sam has been hanging around for five years to get an answer to "What does the Windows-R key do?"
- GarthIt's a [***] to block those, hospitals, medical clinics and a bunch of government numbers come out as PRIVATE CALLER here, but thankfully my landline cordless phones allow to block/unblock those with just 2 buttons pressed. But also a lot of the pests add in some name that is usually the phone number again, so it opens the door, so I have to be proactive or else I'll miss really important calls like hospital exam appointments, happened a few times. I wish they didn't anonymize their phones over there, I mean, it's added costs, I know that when I had a cell phone, I had to pay 25 bucks to have it be confidential back in 2005.

- anonymous| 1 replyUnfortunately, I can't block those because almost everything health related, appointments, doctors calling you, hospital calling you, it all shows up as "Unknown Call", they should change this. It allows in 90% of the crap calls I get nowadays.
- TheRealSeriouslyⓇ replies to anonymousMaybe put the good numbers in your contacts list?
- JohnCall at 11:25 AM today; CID said "unavailable"
- Vanishing ActThe " unavailable " calls I get on my cell don't even register on " Call History " at my phone co. It must be a VOIP call.
- LF replies to A| 1 replyDo not answer calls from" Unavailable" or Private caller unless you know that number would be my advise.
- BigA replies to LFHopefully "A" will stop back after 11 years to see your advice.
- Me Again!| 1 replyJust got a robot call from "Unavailable" that said it was from the "Legal Dept". This is on my company office phone. Kind of funny, because I just had that number changed because of all the spam calls I was getting. No idea what that was about or who the heck they could have been calling (probably phishing).
- BigA replies to Me Again!
Not really and it amazes me that you thought that by changing your number you would stop getting calls when in reality:Quote:Kind of funny, because I just had that number changed because of all the spam calls I was getting.
New Number
All phone numbers are recycled. No one gets rid of a number without a good reason since it a pain in the butt to notify everyone. So now you know why the former owners got rid of that number. - Me Again!| 1 replyThis is a number provided by IT for a major oil company I work for and it was always a company number. It is not my personal number, fyi. I answer it, because it could be a business call.
- Tygerkat replies to Me Again! If the number isn't yours & was "provided by IT for a major oil company I work for", how were you able to change it?
