I have been receiving calls too from 011. Don't know who it is but recommend you don't answer it. Could be someone from outside the US charging a huge amount for the call.
I've never been zinged by the cell carrier for any large fees, every call from +011 has had an E. Indian accented caller. With Concumer Financial Services last year, the heavily accented callers might have been calling from the Indian community in Fresno- the news reporter who did an investigation would likely know more.
011 is the prefix code for international calls from the U.S. In other words, if you were to call a private number in another country, you would dial 011 + country-code (usually 2 digits) + city-code + private phone number.

How these guys even know my name is beyond me. I told them that they got the wrong number just to see what they would say, and they continued without missing a beat. I just hung up on them. They must be desperate in trying to dupe someone.
ABC Newscaster Corin Hoggard [he's in section #1 in this thread] has a video clip on the +011 Consumer Financial Services scamsters being handcuffed and on their way to the cross-bar hotel in summer 2011, so someone else is using this # these days - this week I received a call from a Pakistani man hawking "Snake Farm" [the good hands people!!] auto insurance so sometimes what we think is an Indian accent is actually Pakistani.

I got a call from this number today stating that they were tech support and that they got my number through error reporting through Microsoft and that there were batch reports from the past three weeks. Said a guy had input my number for him to call. He called a cell phone number no less. I basically called his bluff and stated that I had turned off all error reporting options and that he was full of crap. He kept trying to keep me on the phone and get me to access my computer information for him. I told him thanks and STFU and hung up on him.
I have received several calls from the 011 number. I do not answer calls from numbers I do not recognize. But, this number has called several times in the past week, even on Sundays. So, I answered today and an Middle Eastern Indian Guy was on the other end. As soon as I heard his voice, I knew it was a scam. The Middle Eastern Indian people in the past few years have been big scammers via the telephone and internet. DO NOT ANSWER YOUR PHONE WITH THIS 011 NUMBER ---- IT IS A SCAM!! And, I looked the number up on the internet after I answered the call today and found this number has already been listed as a scam.
I hope you uncover the sorry Middle Eastern Indian scammers with the 011 number. They are calling all of the time. After about 2 weeks of calls, and me not answering, I answered today, and it was an Indian guy. I yelled at him not to call here anymore with his scam and hung up. If you look over the internet, there are tons of Middle Eastern Indian scams. It is not right our government does not put forth the effort to stop this. I bet if they called the White House our government would be at the scammer's doors in just a few days.
Oh, I play M2 on Facebook a lot and my name listed here is my avatars name. Will help you anyway I can with these scammers.

011-787-6009 has called me numerous times telling me I need to pay my loan and I'm behind. They want my attorneys number so they can fax him the legal papers because I'm being sued. When I ask for information like the file number or the aaorneys name that handeling the case they either hang up or say they don't have it, but they have the file in front of them. They even tried to talk to me like I was a child "you have a loan you need to pay, don't you, don't you. . ." Sorry, wrong child!
