I have received calls on several occasions from someone whose number shows up as +011 on my caller ID. That, of course, is not a valid phone number. Anyone know how it shows up/who it is?

I would suppose it is the same people who use 0000............they say they are federal people and want you or your lawyer to call them, they say you must call immediatley as soon as you receive this message....if we do not hear from you then god bless! What a scam, these people have left up to 5 messages a day on my phone, one day I answered it and told them I had every message they left, every phone number they dialed from and that I was going to prosecute them for harassment. Well this helped for about 2 months and then they start back up again. Totally unreal, I block their number and they dial from another number. You can't hardly understand them and then when you play along with them they hang up on you! lol

The call comes from India, and they're trying to sign people up for Consumer Financial Services of Fresno, CA for a debt settlement program. I am trying to track down who's behind this, at present it appears to be a Fresno business {LLC] with the registered agent living in Fresno, and having a very East Indian sounding name.
I have also gotten calls from this "number." I answered once and it was a recording congratulating me for winning something or other. I hung up without bothering to listen to the rest of the message. I think these calls are from trollers trying to determine which telephone numbers are still in service so they can sell them to telespammers. Grrrr....
With a VOIP system, you can forge any name and number you want to show up on the calling line ID. For a while, I got calls showing up as 000-000-0000. Obviously that's a bogus number. I never answered, and eventually they quit calling. Apparently they are going for the curiosity factor: "What kind of number is that? I want to see who it is."

It's also people now saying they work with Windows. Stating that your computer has a virus and they can tell you are online. BS! Don't fall for it. My fiance today told them he wanted to be removed and that he was gonna call the authorities and the BBB, the guy said "GO ahead" to him. Then hung up.
