Selfish and self centered people don't care about anything other than themselves. They don't care about their surroundings, they don't care about the well being of others, all they care about is lying, cheating people, hurtiing them, and making money. It's all about "Me, Me, and Me" I call it the "Nero" syndrome.
i read your message i was also involved with them everything sounded good in the beginning until we received court documents from a creditor for court proceedings.then i called them and they gave me the run around i cancelled my program with them and if they dont return funds i will fight to the bitter end
I too have been scammed, I have tried calling and calling with no answer and they no longer answer..Silverthorne & Lupolover, it is another name. Am calling my bank to stop payments and try to recoup my money. I also have recieved letters for court proceedings if debt is not settled. Had these people to try and call Silverthorne without any success as well. Good luck to you for getting your funds back also. If you find a way to get them please post so the rest of us may also find closure. Thankyou.
In response to your comments, I too have had only positive things happen with S&L.THE calls have, stopped &and they are more than willing to answer all my questions . In response to concern that S&L make 17cents on your dedt dollars .ITS A BISS ,ISNT IT? this programe is like everything else in this life .ITS NOT FREE .this profit they make. Does ,not in &of its self make the program a scam. you and I seem to know this ,what is wrong with the other folks if they payed there [***] creditors the same amount of money they put in the sl program .They would be no worse off.rite ,it would have only went toward crazy interest charges. We R no worse off trying this debt settelment.
It looks like this site is really hurting your ability to trick victims out of money huh? Why else would you have crawled out from under your slimy rock in the boiler room and left us this stinking turd?
LOL, at least it's easy to see why you can't get a real job.

we have been involved with S&L for a few months now. right off the bat, one of the creditors attempted to sue us (court proceedings and all). S&L did everything right. they assumed control of the situation and in the end, our $13000 debt was reduced to $5000 to be paid in installments over a period of agreed months. It went seamlessly and we are elated at the results. I can honestly say that yes, since they have switched hands it has made me a bit nervous. but so far, they have replied to my calls, and continued to try and save us money. It IS a business. and if anyone out there thinks that a debt relief program is free...you are nothing short of being a fool. that being said, 17% of total debt as payment is a far cry from what creditors charge at any given time! Remember folks, you have NO ONE to blame but yourselves for getting into debt. S&L ..now Cockburn and Associate is a business, a business that ASSISTS people with debt solutions. There is no magic wand, there is no easy way out. If anyone expects that as soon as they sign the dotted line they can sit back and relax...WAKE UP! Mark Silverthorn (The Wolf at the Door ; http://www.collection-calls.ca/wolf-at-the-door-book.html) (CBC NEWS ; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQEwM5J-n28). They are legitimate, just maybe not the fairy godmother so many of you think exists. If you haven't got the guts to stick it through than don't...but don't fool yourself into thinking that debt relief should be an easy road. The ones that rob you of your money, are the credit card companies and banks....really people!!
really....paid advertisement...you see, it's individuals such as yourself that cause grief where it isn't warranted...i am a paying client of S&L, and a SATISFIED client..why does that offend you and why do you see the need to unjustly accuse me of being anything but...honestly, the links are to prove to those that have that knotted feeling in their stomachs that perhaps they can see for themselves instead of just reading negativity based on opinion rather than fact. I understand that unnerved feeling and rightly so, because NO ONE ever wants to be scammed or taken advantage of.....you don't know me, you don't know my situation, so unless you have legitimate information about someone, i strongly suggest you keep your ignorant comments to yourself.
27 Sep } you have NO ONE to blame but yourselves for getting into debt. 28 Sep } keep your ignorant comments to yourself
Try following your own advice. By your logic, when a person's job is outsourced and he's flown overseas to train his own replacement, the loss of wages is his own fault. When someone is crippled in a T-bone vehicle collision or succumbs to pancreatic cancer, going underwater in medical debt is all her fault. When a bank tries to foreclose on a house which not even God knows who really owns or where the chain of title was severed, that's all Daddy's fault for not breeding a MERS lawyer into the family.
I don't find the remainder of your story offensive. I do find it implausible. Hawking the book (ghost)written by the guy who is selling you a "credit fixer" service does nothing to support your arguments.
} $13000 debt was reduced to $5000 to be paid in installments
Bravo, you got a discount any half-wit BK lawyer could have won. But you still haven't disputed the debt to give you true leverage. And you now have essentially two monthly bills, to the collector and the "fixer", instead of the one you stopped paying. The S&L deal as described previously hoards your money with the "service" long, long before the creditor sees a dime. Before this winter you'll be crying about how the creditor wants to wriggle out and possibly sue you for real.
everyone has reasons for being in debt...and true, not all are due to horrendous spending on useless items. but before you get your knickers in a knot...which you already have done....you need to sit back and read all the comments prior...those complaining the most are those that want a free ride, with no risk, no worry and hassle free...i don't expect that nor do i deserve it., i won't bother you with the crosses that my family bear because again, you don't know me or my situation yet you slam me as though you do. and no, any two-bit lawyer could NOT have made that sort of negotiation, i know, because i've worked with lawyers...okay so that takes care of that...if it were THAT easy and cheap everyone would hire a lawyer to get themselves out of debt. now you talk about medical debt...well, i'm not sure where you're from, but where i'm from, our provinces medical insurance pays the bulk of our medical bills, but again, go ahead and assume things about people. there are programs in place to help those that are injured, ill, or unemployed to deal with their debt...you merely have to seek them out. i don't BLAME anyone for circumstances beyond their control, but look at the stats...the country is in debt due to our own accord and disregard for the almighty dollar. everyone has a reason why, some more serious and worthy of compassion than others...but again, i STRESS a law firm that is going to help people get out of debt, yet expects payment for their work is NOT scamming....scamming is getting paid for a job that isn't done. i have stated that we are paying this firm and we are getting results. if you have tried with other firms or agencies to no avail, i feel for you honestly i do, but DO NOT scare the living Jesus out these folks unless you have informed and CORRECT information with regard to anyone that is in the business of debt relief. and further, we have attended at court and have legal court rulings and documentation that no one can dispute later on, as the matter was SETTLED. again, i don't know where you live, but here, a legally binding court approved decision, is pretty much set in stone. but surely you know this as you seem to present yourself as knowing so much about law?
and further to my comment...i would just like to add that S&L showed genuine compassion and understanding for our situation. Our contact is always available to answer questions or address our concerns and was genuinely happy for us when the settlement was reached...they took they reins, but we maintained control and in the end...it was the hard work of an unknown settlement advisor that did his/her job very well. we've only been in the program 5 mos...what we have paid them, and the settlement no where near add up to what the debt was...i despise assumption...i really really do.....
Scammers despise truth. When truth and assumption intersect, then they despise assumption too.
Now really, do you get some kind of bonus for posting this BS? A special comfy chair in the boiler room perhaps? An extra line of coke?
I can only asusume the scam isn't working well, or else they could hire a better liar.

So by Kate's reasoning, the ones who are in debt should pay somebody else to get themselves out of debt? Nice try but the story just doesn't add up. Something is missing somewhere or are the facts twisted just to suit your needs? There are people in debt, fact. Taking advantage of their misery to make money is exploitation. So Kate you like exploiting people? Huh?

Credit card companies, banks etc doesn't matter who it is, if there's evidence that they are ripping people off, they are no different from the ones who take advantage of a bad situation and exploits people. Any business is legit until fraud takes place. There are people who work hard to make money and there are people who take the twisted route to make money. Twisted route = Fraud.
