I recommend contacting the district attorney's office in your county instead of the FTC or some other far-away federal agency. The DA's office in my area (and probably in most areas) has assistant DAs who prosecute bunko and white-collar crime. A friend of mine was recently scammed by an alarm company and the DA's office jumped right on the case. Remember, the telemarketers discussed on this board are *criminals*, not just annoying but otherwise legit businesses, and it's the DA's office that prosecutes most criminals.

Yeah, I get one a week from these guys... on my cell phone no less. They must be jacking their caller-id, since the number comes up incomplete: 310 946 687.

Make an appt, not at your address, then ask for a number incase you have to reschedule, then If you have Skype, call them often.

Can't find a reference to that article
Wouldn't it be ironic if the OP was Diane from the Carpet Cleaning Company?

Been getting the same call.  They're using 310.948.536  (last digit missing).

How are these calls going through without 10 digits?  I would like to add it
to the block list offered by my VOIP service.

I Have the same problem here in South Florida. On both the Federal and State Do NOt Call Lists matters little to these telemarketers.  When I got a sales rep on the line by pushing one to schedule an appointment, he hung up on me as soon as I identified myself and started to explain that I am on both do not cvall lists.  ATT's suggestion was to notify local law enforcement.  Any other ideas, solutions I should cobnsider?  Thanks!

I just started getting these calls on my cell phone.  Verizon won't give me the real phone number without a court order or a police/DA request.

They have called me a number of times and the phone number used is 732-978-546 which if you notice is an invalid US telephone number.  Since I do not answer unknown calls the answering machine picks up and the caller hangs up.  The "whocalledus" site identified this number so they are using multiple fake phone numbers.

I got a call from a robot also that said her name was Diane from Carpet Cleaning.  I listened to the whole message and I pushed the button to speak with a sentient being.  A girl answered and said carpet cleaning.  I was like what business is this?  She hung up quickly.  Lol, I guess you are not supposed to ask any questions.
