- dlove5861It's difficult to understand how so many people can be on this forum with such heartbreaking stories and still fight universal healthcare. I just don't get it.

- Call type: Debt collector
- Bill BarryThey're "IC System", a collection agency for RCN & probably other companies. Their regular phone # is 406-577-1218, but after many unanswered calls, they apparently use a # from your area code so as to fool you to think that a call is coming from someone you know.

here is the link : http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf - ksif it for a medical bill can I just contact and pay Dr or do I have to got thru this collection agency now that they are calling?
- ErinIf this is a medical bill collection, I don't know why they would be calling me... I have not had any medical issues in over 8 years and with my husbands insurance, we have a super low co-pay. Not sure why they are calling, but I live on the west coast and I keep getting phone calls at 6 am on the dot. Wish they would call at a decent hour, or not at all
- Lylo replies to frugalbulletwhat kind of [***] are you...some people are truly struggling out there...EVERYTHING is negotiable.....and should be with todays economy
- Chancypants replies to BobI figure when someone like frugalbullet posts stuff as he did, its because they either work for the company being reported or they live a perfect wonderful life that none of us on earth truely get to live. It is too bad that people have to say stuff like that instead of keeping it to themselves. If only these companies didn't rip everybody off everday of our lives then we wouldn't have to worry about these calls. I did answer and wait on the line and the name of the person they were asking for was not anybody I had ever heard of anyway, so they don't do their research very well before making these calls.
- Mike WentzelI have spoken with an individual from this company asking for their name, and they would not give it to me. I have researched this company on line and they are trying to get personal information. I told them not to call again and they keep calling. Can you stop this caller from calling our home phone number?

- JMG replies to frugalbulletI hope you don't lose your job, and if you do and you can't pay your bills I hope they hound you to death, you insensitive jerk
- Doesn't MatterI have been getting calls from this company for 8 months, FOR SOMEONE ELSE. I have told them they have the wrong number but they keep calling. So finally I just blocked there number.

- arthur replies to kerimarieTwo sides to the coin!
On one hand, "stop all your complaining". They have every legal right to collect in full or take a partial and that does not make them or the support posts a bad guy. I say this with the fact I too have them calling me and I had insurance and for what ever reason it is not getting paid for my 15yr old's er bill.
On the other hand if they really want their money they would be wise to not be stupid and take payments when people are having hard times. They will bully you into sacrificing either frivolous things or to things like food on the table. I do sales and collections. I am a little too understanding and customers will often choose to go out of town and spend for fun than catch up on their bills. The collector may or may not know this nor they may or may not care and are under pressure to make #'s or get fired. They too then perhaps would be in your position getting the calls. - Arthur replies to Larry D.You can ask them to stop calling but that will not work. They do not have to stop calling you. It is the point of contact you gave them. If you change your # and they locate yur new number they legally can call it as well. Your references can ask them to stop as well as your work.
- KatyThey called me twice. I answered the second time. They asked me to hold for the next operator which was weird. They asked me to verify my address when I asked them what was their business again. The guy told me that I needed to verify my address for further information. I told him I would not verify anything if he did not give me any information about the company. He told me that they would call me at another time because I wouldn't cooperate with them. I would have clearly answered him if he had just told me what they were calling about. I simply gave him a piece of mind and he hung up on me. Since he did not cooperate with me I wouldn't cooperate with him. I am a college student and I have health insurance. At the time of my hospital visit I didn't have my card. He could have gotten my info if he was willing to cooperate.
- KaseyI/C Systems is a legitimate collection agency.
However, the legitimate I/C Systems will (or should) send you a letter. They will reference the company/corporation/medical facility (their Client) that you owe the debt. They will also reference the amount due. There will be a reference number and a "legitimate" phone number on the letter for you to call them back.
These various phone numbers and calls from "I/C Systems" are very suspicious to say the least, judging from the above posts. I would never answer the phone or give ANY information to a stranger who claims to be from I/C Systems over the phone. There are too many scammers who fake caller ID to gain access to your personal information. The legitimate I/C Systems would ALREADY have your information they received from their Client.- Caller: I/C Systems
- JB replies to LadyBug| 2 repliesSeriously??? This is how it actually works. You run up a debt. Let's say emergency room. The hospital tries to collect. They can't. They SELL the debt to a collection agency. What does that mean? Let's take a $500 debt. They sell it to a collector for 10 cents on the dollar. The collector pays the hospital $50. The collector then owns that debt. You owe the collector not the hospital at that stage. If you don't pay they will mess up your credit. Period. If you can't pay, Go bankrupt... That costs money too. Go figure.
- Carol replies to frugalbulletActually by law if you tell them not to call you and only communicate via mail - they aren't. Also, just because someone calls you claiming you owe, doesn't mean they have the correct person. Debt is sold and resold so many times, they often have the wrong person.
If you are going to be try to be a self-righteous smart azz at least know what you are talking about. - AW replies to yogirooUse the blocking feature on your phone. This will stop the calls for a while, until they realize they've been blocked. Then they will use another phone to call you. Block that one too.
- wade graham srThese people call 2-4 tmes a day for over a month,we are fed up[- and going to turn them in we are on the do not call.we owe nobody anything.
- BirdWorldI get these calls on a daily basis as well. It is quite comical to read some of the posts that people are putting on this thread. I see every side of the story and understand each one quite well. I started out with a perfect credit score. I work in sales and made a very good income for years. At 21 years old and going to school I was making in the areas of 75-120,000. When I dropped out of college to work more I was making in upwards of 220,000 a year for the next few years. Then in 2010 as the economy dropped, so did my income. I went through a lot of different downfalls, most of which were self inflicted, but at the time justified as others faults. The point I try to make here is that I knew my credit cards were charging me anywhere from 0-22 percent when I used them. I knew that if I didn't pay the money in full each month I would be throwing money down the drain to the bank. Did I have to buy everything I did on credit, no. I made bad decisions and had to pay for them. Not everyone is in that position. There are some that get their identity stolen and then have bad credit and because of it can't get some of the same luxuries in life. There are others that made mistakes at a young age and are still paying for them despite the fact they have changed their life around. Everyone, at one point or another will see bad things happen in their life, but we all have the same decisions to make. Do I sit at home and feel sorry for myself; or do I go out and make the best of what I have and keep up the good fight. It is extremely discouraging to get 20-40 calls a day from creditors while you are trying your best to get back on top. To all those that say its the companies right to call you as much as they want, you are wrong. They are not allowed to call between certain hours and if notified they must stop all contact via phone. They can threaten and send letters and try to sue, but as someone said, you can't squeeze blood from a rock. Pay what you can and do what you can. I have the utmost respect to those that work hard to pay off their debts. I sincerely do my best to do the same, but its not always possible. Bankruptcy is an option and explained to me by a family lawyer as nothing to look down upon yourself from. Some of the most successful people in the world have filed BK. The only thing I get mad at or frown upon are those that refuse to pay their debts even when they have the money to do so. They go on vacations, buy things they don't need, waste money on useless things, but tell the creditors they are broke. We all need to live a little at times and have fun to get our minds off the chaotic things of the world, but I've witnessed many people go out and get things that they have no ability to pay for, only to use them until taken. People that purchase homes outside their means and then never pay a payment, but live there for free for a year or 2 until the banks shortsale or forclose. That is why the economy has gone to sh*t. Too many entitled people wanting the lifestyle of the rich and famous, while working the life style of the deceased. It all comes down to responsibility. If everyone worked hard and helped each other out we'd be back on top quite quickly, but we seem to be headed in the opposite direction. I hope we can all work hard together and bring this country back to what it stands for. I believe it can be done. I know we are capable. I try to stay positive. I take all the numbers that call and put them in my phone as do not answer. I then put them in a group list and set do not disturb from 8am to 8pm. This way I don't hear or feel the phone calling me from these people all day long. Choose the outcome, focus on the good, or focus on the bad, but whatever that focus is, is what we shall live with.
