I don't care who they are, if you ask to removed from their call list, they are supposed to comply!!

Yes, they SHOULD comply, but you're better off getting on the Do Not Call registry (if you're not already on it). If a caller violates the list, you can go after them with federal charges and potentially get paid. Also, another advantage of the DNC list is that it is subscribed to by legitimate telemarketers to scrub their call lists. For the most part, this just leaves us with the bad guys. And, as someone else said in another post, pushing a number to be removed from a call list is NOT a good choice since it does validate the number.

My last advice would be to deal with the unwanted calls as best you can (maybe you just don't answer - after all, they won't call forever, maybe you get on the DNC registry, etc.). But, the biggest waste of time that I see consistently is people who just get on these forums and just complain. Unwanted calls aren't your fault, but if you want things to change, you have to take some appropriate action. Think about it this way - you get hit from behind while sitting at a stoplight. It certainly wasn't your fault and your were inconvenienced - but you still gotta deal with it.

Got a call today - the ID said "announcement"  - didn't answer that either.  I just blocked the number - my phone allows me 20 calls.    Am contemplating getting the digitone call blocker.

Who are these people they left a message that if I didn't call back my license would be suspended.

This is the harassing techniques or predatory business practices for Safeguard America/Safehome Security/Security Systems/GE Security/Rapid Response Monitoring. They use desception of installing a GE Security system to cover up who they really are. Yes they may install some do it yourself GE system but the companies behind it are the above mentioned. Check with  Cromwell CT BBB reports to see exactly what kind of business professionals or business ethics this group of companies display.

Still getting calls from this number.  I never answer, and yet they keep calling.  Really aggravating.

Free security installed if we can put a sign in your yard. Right... I have Colt security system. Don't need your sign, help, spoofed calls and/or access to my home. Who would buy anything from these underhanded scumbags??? Have blocked number and will block the next one these trolls, vultures, @#^%$#&*#! use.

Just called and I did not pick up. I took my number off the DO NOT CALL list a couple of weeks ago and the number of telemarketer calls have dropped way off. I suggest that telemarketers are definitely using the DO NOT CALL list for numbers to call because they know the Federal Government is a toothless tiger when it comes to enforcing the law.

If you have AT&T U-Verse use Select Call Forwarding to send these crooks to a number of your choice. Try sending them to a political survey number or another scammer number that has ceased calling you. Off into cyber space! Yippee! Let them fight among themselves. If you don't have U-Verse, your service may have something similar.

just got another, the CID said ANNOUNCEMENT.

Same old crap.  Just put a sign in my front yard (I live in a high-rise) and they will give me a security system FREE.  I wish these a$$holes would get a life.

I just received two consecutive calls from this number  206-496-0929, they did not leave a message.  I attemped to call the number back and receivd a message that the number is disconnected.

I called back and got a recording that the number had been disconnected.

I just let this one ring because of the suspicious ID and unfamiliar phone number.  It would have been my third marketing call for the day.  Answer machine picked up after many rings.  No message.

Just now got a call, ID said "Announcement" with # 206-496-0929.  For some reason, my husband answered the phone.  I asked him who it was and he said it was a recording claiming to be from the FBI, wanting to place surveillance cameras on our property so we would be protected.  Well, after we stopped laughing, I decided to post this as a warning. to others.  We are on the DNC list.  It doesn't work against scammers.
