I just want to break the owners index fingers

I have been on the DNC list for years. It is a farce. I have turned the ringer off on the phone. I let the answering machine catch everything. No msg, no loss.

Caller ID read "ANNOUNCEMENT"

I was not home when they called and would not have answered if I were home.

I received a call from this number today. The caller ID said "accouement." A misspelled word is a dead giveaway for a spammer. When I called the number, I got a message stating that the number was not in service.

My caller ID gave the telephone and name as WA Seattle.  Did not leave a message.

I am from Texas.

I meant telephone number.

Just received another call from this 206 number showing a new name on my caller ID. It showed up as "Annoucement" (Note incorrect spelling). Usually the ringing stops after 4 - this time it rang about 10 times. I never answer these calls but they still keep trying. Thank goodness for Caller ID! I don't know what we can do to prevent these scammers from disturbing us. If we can land on Mars, surely some genius inventor should be able to whip up a magic device to rid us of these parasites! What a goldmine that would be considering the amount of people who are annoyed enough to purchase said device! I would be as close the front of the line as I could manage. Until then, I will continue paying for caller ID and ignoring the persistant pests until I find a way to make them go away.

Now I have reached a number that has been disconnected with the above stated companies.

No person or message left by this number, caller ID only says "Announcement".  Scammer presumed.

Go a call from the above number. Caller ID showed "ANNOUNCEMENT". I called back & got a recording that the number was  a disconnected number

Caller ID is Announcement A Landline. Seattle WA PROBABLE ID THEFT / MEDICARE FRAUD

Called 12/6/12 4:29 pm Central.  Did not leave a msg.

This number phones me very often.  I have pushed the do not call number many times which did nothing.  I am an elderly person who takes naps and do not like being woke up, getting up and going to the other room only to find this company calling me.  Please take me off there list.

Something really needs to be done about all these scam calls.

I've started answering these phone calls with "Pacific Telecom... How can I help?" or "AT&T Nuisance Bureau ..." or even "San Francisco Police Department...."
REALLY get's em!

Or get a voip service and block them all.  Thats what I just started to do.

Numerous calls since October.  Scam for sure as they hang up as soon as answering machine comes on.  Do not want to leave information that could be used against them in court if they get caught.  Would be nice if they were caught, would it not?  Thieves have no respect for the do not call list remember.  They are no different than the door thieves this time of year.

On the "no call" list but to no avail these objectionable calls get through.

The only thing that works is to 'block' the caller's number. Even then, the scamsters are often using a fake number they call through from their 'boiler room' or offshore. Comcast, TDS and AT&T all have call blocking features.

If you answer in person, you have given these creeps (or their robots, when they are robo-calls) a number to sell to other creeps and a time when an actual human will answer. Watch your caller ID and let them leave a message. Most of them don't. Important callers leave messages; even collectors.

Hope this helps someone. I don't trust the "do not call" list anymore, after some things I've read on these message boards.
