This number called me last week so I recognized the location and the number. It only says "Seattle Wa." I was on another call so I clicked over and a recording started informing me.
The FBI says there are thefts every ? minutes- If you allow us to put a sign in your front yard we will give you a security system for free- CREEPY-Did not feel right to me.
Marketing 101- "Nobody get a free lunch" Nothing is for free-there is always a cost.
I called the Federal trade commission and registered my phone number on the Do not call list - (888)382-1222- Hope this helps- Good Luck

Same scenario as most...Caller ID shows WINNER, leaves no message when I don't answer.  Most recent call was 8/13/2012 at 1:39 pm...

winner-just got home from back surgery and really appreciate these  bothersome calls.  If it wasn't for the internet, I would not even have a phone!

I'm beginning to think so. Within 2 hours of listing my numbers on the DNCR I've received more telemarketer calls than I did before I listed my numbers! I also agree about filing complaints, I don't believe it does any good to complain.

You need to get a phone that blocks numbers.  I bought a Panasonic KX-TGA641  on Ebay for like $20.  
It blocks up to 15 numbers.  Then you can go in & erase some of the numbers that don't call you anymore & add some new ones.  

I'm sure there are other phones  that do this.  GREAT feature!!!

When are these lazy people going to get a real job for a living  I get numerous calls everyday from different numbers.  It is a waste of time.  I likewise got a call today from the 206-496-0929 saying WINNER on the ID.
I did not answer since I didn't recognize the number.  They said they were a Home Protection Co installing security systems.  They have called numerous times and if they don't get an answer they will just use one of their other numbers thinking you may answer.  When is someone going to stop this.  This is a crime just as other things are and is very annoying.  I have had it with these people and I likewise am on the DNC on both phones and it doesn't help.  Are they a telemarketer also.  We really need for the government to put some kind of sanction to stop this sort of thing.  ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Got  a call 2am. Did not ans.

The DNC list is a joke but i decided to play with the rep today. I listened to the recorded message and pressed 1. A live and very gulliable agent came on. She asked my name (gave her one but not mine) and then proceeded to play along with her. I answered the "prequalifying" questions-1. do you own or rent?--"why it's paid for",2. does anyone have a medical probelm in your house?--"no" (but I doubt it would actually  matter for this "sale")3. has you ever had a GE home security system installed before?--"no". Congratulations you qualify (like there was any doubt). Next she's going to tell me all about the system and how it works. This is when I told her that she was being recorded and that this # was on the DNC. I thought she would hang up but instead I got "why did you let me go thru all of this??? I thought I had a sale, now my conversion rate is bad."
Oh well not my problem!!!!! But at least I now I know who the company is and yes (tho I don't know why) I am reporting them to the DNC.

In the last two days have received about a dozen calls from this phone number. No one is ever there and it sounds like a fax is trying to link up. How to stop this?????????????

I just received a call from WINNER, no message left.  As an aside, I believe that if you have an answering machine and it answers, the number knows that it has reached an assigned and working number.

I don't think they do anything per se but they are amassing quite a database. can't hurt to report it so they know all the unsolicited calls we're getting in spite of being signed up for do not call.

I called the number back and a recording said it was a number for a marketing agency and told me to press 1 to be taken off their call list.

Hitting the # key does not work have tried this for six weeks no luck. Have filed complaint with both states and national. No luck

I am receiving unsolicited and unwanted calls from this number.  My cell phone is on a do not call list and I have informed these people of that fact.  Today when I told the guy that I would not give him my name and that I was on a do not call list, he hung up on me.
I'm tired of this.  They are trying to sell home security systems.  As if I would buy a security system based in Washington State when I live in Florida.  Duh!
The call type was marketing.  They want to sell me a security system.

The caller 206-496-0929 " Winer" called us @ 17:00,08/17/2012, after 877-698-3261called us @17;00.
I picked up the phone & used Spanish to answer. The caller remained silent since my last name is not Spanish.So I hung up.When I returned the call. It took for a while and a message apear. I selected : to remove name  & number" from their list. It is a marketing company.
