- ChuckR| 3 repliesI agree with all comments. The girl I talked to said she would only talk to the person that had the latest birthday. I told her they were not in the house. She wouldn't talk to me. STUPID and led me to believe this is very phony.
My number is on an auto dial program and they cannot take it off. I would have to call a supervisor. I suggested she call the supervisor and she said she didn't know them. I am going to send an e-mail to
info@scarborough.com to remove my number. If that doesn't work then I will flood them.
Also, not answering the call is fine if you have callerid and are awake when they call and are not infirmed in any way.- Caller: Scarborough Research

- whistle-blower replies to ChuckR| 1 replyThey are required by law to remove you upon your request -- you should not have to call some "supervisor". If they don't do that DURING THE CALL when you request then they are violating federal law. FWIW you can file complaints but they are rarely acted upon by our corrupt government. Take matters into your own hands and get a whistle or airhorn, and when you get one of these subhumans on the line BLAST THEM.
They are professional privacy invaders who deliberately ignore the laws that apply to them, which makes them nothing more than crooks. - AK47 replies to ChuckRScarborough Res collects private data for collection agencies & credit bureaus.. They're evil & enjoy harassing U
- Laura BerryThese people have been calling us for weeks. We have told them to stop and told them that we are on the Do Not Call list. Their reply is that it doesn't apply to them.
I am fed up with this. I don't care if they are "selling something" or not, they do not have the right to harass us. - oh yeaThey call everyday. does not matter what time it is early or midnight. ( I think their autodialer time is messed up). I ignoire. If phone bugs block and use special ring or unplug it at night.

I received this number from a Scarb. Resr. caller that I was very direct with about not being called further. He explained that he was not allowed to access the data files but that calling this number, I could have my number removed.
When I called, I got an immediate pick-up, I explained I wanted to be taken off the call list, the associate asked for my phone number, nothing more, and explained that my number would be removed within 72 hours. Here's hoping this works, and for the long run. - ANGRY MOM| 1 replyTHIS CLAIMS TO BE Scarborough Research. KEEPS CALLING MY 15 YEAR OLD SON'S (HAS CEREBRAL PALSY) PRIVATE UNLISTED BED ROOM PHONE. - KellyThey needed to verify if I was the right candidate for their survey. Turns out I was not the candidate they were looking for and wanted to speak to someone else in my household. I told them they weren't here and feel that I gave way to much info just saying that. They wanted to know when the person would be back so that they could call again. I said I wasn't comfortable giving out that information and to take this number of their call list. The person informed me that once the survey was completed they would stop calling and take my name out of the databank... and since they were a research firm they did not fall under the same legal stuff as telemarketers. So I just hung up. Their survey, however, was supposed to help certain companies provide services in my area - if that isn't telemarketing -what is it...? Definitely telemarketers have found away around the law by calling themselves "research".

- Cecil watsonI have asked them to remove my number and get the same response as everyone else. I tried the 800 number listed but only get a recording to leave a message regarding a time for them to call for the survey. I even received a dollar from them in the mail apologizing, but they keep calling.

- patty00Seems when one of these bum companies finally stop calling another one starts! I have learned the best thing to do is answer the call and when they start speaking just put the receiver down and let then waste their time. I find this is the best way to handle these people. If they can't talk to you - they can't annoy you or maybe try to sell you something and so eventually they give up!

- Artie RoccoWhat does it take to make these people stop calling me every day?If anyone can find out the home phone numbers of the people that keep calling me,I would appreciate it.

- fedup replies to DaveSand then they sell it to another company. It never ends!
- New ViewOne contact you might try and ask that they cease and desist from calling your home telephone is
lkinkaid@scarborough.com
The second thing you might do is to keep a record of the date and time of each call. When you have been sufficiently harassed, compile your data into an accurate document and send it to the Attorney General for the state of Texas or to the Chief of Police in the city in which Scarborough Research has its headquarters. - mktThey called twice tonight. I didn't answer the first time, they left a message and I looked them up on the Internet. They're a "legitimate" company, but still use tactics like fraudulent telemarketers. When they called again 2 hours later at 9:15 pm, I told them they weren't allowed to call this late, but she said that since they weren't selling anything, they could call at ANY time. Then when I told her that I worked for a radio station and I'm not allowed to answer Arbitron surveys, she hung up more quickly than I could imagine. Truthfully, I do work for a radio station, but if anyone out there wants to use that as an excuse to get them off your back, go ahead. I know surveyors are (unfairly) exempt from the Do Not Call List rules, but I reported them anyway.

- SunroseAll these people do is call & try to get you to give them your personal info which they then sell to other companies like collection agencies. DO NOT GIVE them ANY info and by all means do NOT call the number they give you to take off your number. They won't do it. They just change to a different number to call you again. Then you start getting more calls from more companies about "surveys" or if you had a bad late debt etc. long ago, the long line of collection agencies will start calling you. I blocked this number and all the others that started calling after I foolishly called their "removal" number.
I am on Do Not Call list and have private unlisted number which I may now have to change.- Caller: Scarborough
