I got the call 4 times, wife pics up, I am not home.
Dont know how to stop them doing this.

in keeping with the "screwing with these guys" theme, i had one of these people on for 40mins.

he gave me the "your computer is infected!", i gave him the "oh goodness, this is terrible!" routine...

to make a very long story short, at the 39 1/2 minute mark I asked him "can you clarify, we are talking about my toaster,correct?", at which point he said "sir, you are making a joke of me!", and hung up.

i don't know if i made it to their "do not call list", but i haven't been bothered since.

I act confused when I get these calls.  Show excitement that they are going to send me a PC because I do not have one yet.  Eventually the simply hang up.  This PC Virus scam has been going on for years. appears to have started in the UK and Australia.  They all resolve back to a call center in India.

Received a call from this number a few minutes ago. The caller insisted he was trying to help me by getting me to check for a corrupted file on my computer.  He was very insistent and his accent was almost incomprehensible. This had all the earmarks of a scam -- trying to get detailed information by giving me a vague and contradictory description of what he was calling about.

First time this number. I have no intention of answering out of state calls or wasting time playing games. How do you know that NY # or not that thye aren't sitting close enough to your house to suck all your info as long as computer is up and running ??

Last week I ordered a new PC online from Walmart.com.
It arrived 4 days ago. Today I got a call from number (212) 000-3459 but I didn't answer.

I wonder if someone in the Walmart supply chain is selling the phone numbers (to scammers) of people that buy computers from that site. It could be anyone from the guy in shipping to the gal in accounting.

I work at a hair salon, and recieved a call from this number (1-212-000-3459) only a few min ago. This man had an indian accent and he knew my business name location.. He told me he could help me optimize my website. I told him I wasnt intersted, he argued with me.. I then said "listen i dont want your product thanks" and he replied "F*** You" and hung up.. I died laughing.

I also got the call, but I didn't mind the call, Why, because I bought a Digitone Call Blocker.  www.digitone.com The first time they call, it rings my phone and the call comes through. I then block the number and the next time they call, my phone doesn't even ring and the blocker hangs up on them. You can even block entire area codes. I have it setup to block any incoming calls with the 855 area code. The blocker keeps track of all calls, good and bad ones. Then I like to check to see who got hung up on just for fun like I am now.

I had a similar experience with some guy with a thick accent.  I also was on guard and this guy told me off & hung up on me.  I tried calling the number back (I'm in Canada) & received the message the call could not be completed.

...and so you are correct.  Darn scammers.

Just got a call from the same number. When caller ID show Name Not Found you know something is not right but I did answer and he had a India accent so I said no thanks and hung up.  I won't listen any more I just hung up quickly.

You need to call a technician or try to install Windows again. If not possible, change the hard drive.

I do not know who is calling from this number.  It comes up as "Name Unavailable".  I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST and don't allow anonymous calls, yet this number still manages to call.

Just got a call from this same number.  Also a man with a thick Indian accent.  I could not understand the name of the company with which he started his conversation.  When I asked him to repeat, he hung up.  Caller ID says New York.  But this number  - 000 - looks very strange to me.  When I tried the look-up of the number, I found some very informative comments.  Don't know how these people get my number, but sure glad I did not waste my precious time with him !!

Some guy asking about a computer I quickly said I on the do not call list do not call again

This man has called the house from a company that you can't understand....he sounds like he is from a distant land. He started the coversation with Sir i am calling you about your computer... I then advised him i had no understanding of why he would be calling me. He then went on to say you do have a computer don't you. I said NO ( I don't just have one i have 7) but did not tell him that, The ID comes up as a NEW YORK number.. He was quick to end the conversation and say sorry to have taken my time. I ran a quick reverse number and cell number look up to have both number not in service, after web searching the number direct i get these boards, is any other person having an issue with this?

just got a call tonight from 212-000-3459, daughter knew it was bs and hung up. they had called about a month ago with the same script asking for me by name.

Same as others above.  Indian man asking all kinds of questions about my computer, trying to scare me that I've got all these virus'.  I told him to remove our phone number from list and he hung up on me.  I tried calling the number back 212-000-3459 but it doesn't work.
