I got a call from this miserable guy and I tried to call them back to tell them to stop calling me. But the answer was that the number was not in service, I could tell from his accent that he was Indian. My conclusion is that they're just rats.

Just got the call as well, seen it before but never answered. Call Line ID is invalid so they have found a way to outdial with it, probably not from within the US...  Unfortunately no one answered :(

Yes, I got a phone call from One-Stop E Solutions, a man with a thick indian accent.  He said that malware was infecting a number of computers "in my area," and wanted to take over my computer.
It creeped me out because I powered up my laptop earlier this morning, and it did in fact have errors, and I clicked on the "Windows Fix" window, which I regret now because it probably installed extra malware!  So do you think that the 'fix' program triggered the telephone call?
Gosh, now I feel as paranoid as my elderly grandfather, who thinks that people tap into his cell phone!

It just happened to me - At first, I thought it was a Dell rep as I've extended the warranty with Dell - and, of course, the heavy accent.  He had me run "temp"  - then msconfig - and finally the 1stophelp.com. He said my computer was "infected" and his "technician" would take care of it. Ugh! Another scam!

i was looking through my phone's caller ID history earlier today and remember they called me too from 212-000-3459 on my work line. my best guess is my number got purged from linkedin or something like that. i work in IT networking/security.

a man with a thick indian accent called to tell me about strange files on my computer. I knew it was a scam right away but played along so i could do some searches on the internet about this. he assisted me with opening up my "temp" folder and my "prefetch" folder and attempted to scare me that these are strange files and that i do not know where they come from. he then attempted to get me to open teamviewer.com and so he could remotely connect to my computer.

i then called him out on being a scam and he hung up on me immediately.

this is pretty serious though. if anyone starts going along with them they could do irreparable damage to your computer or steal passwords, etc. has anyone reported this to the proper authorities?

same number just called me and identified self as Mac Harris from One Stop (some other word I couldn't understand after the name). Heavy accent. said he's offering help to users online and that I probably have downloaded unwanted software that could crash my computer. He went on to say that he was aware I own a PC, use windows, and am the primary user. I asked how he got this info and he said 'we have our research department'. I asked where the research department got the info and he just repeated himself. and I hung up. Looking on google, I see many other complaints and several different caller names as well as company names with the same phone number and the same schtick. some people have given them remote access and been charged $299.00. who knows what else they do to your computer!!! don't ever give your info out or allow access to anyone who calls you. Call Best Buy or someone locally for all help with computers or you risk identity theft and plain old theft.

    Still going 212-000-3459 12/14/2012
Similar tale. Strong Indian accent, guy named STEVE. Wants to help me with my horribly infected computer. I played it about as dumb as I could tolerate keeping him on the phone for nearly 30 minutes to get as much information as possible. 212-000-3459 was the number on the caller id. The number he gave me to call back was 1-888-514-1650 ... haven't tried it yet to see where it goes. The company name he indicated was 1StopEArcade, and the web site he ultimately wanted me to visit was http://www.1stopehelp.com [ DON'T GO THERE ]. Especially if you run Microsoft Windows of any sort ... and even more so if you use Internet Explorer (IE) of any version.

How can such a bogus number continue to be used for such a long time to scam people?

Received a call from 2120003459 before checking the caller ID.  I usually do not answer any number I don't recognize.  However, I had trouble understanding his heavy accent and felt sure it was a scam, so I thought I would have some fun.  I kept telling him I couldn't understand, and he would begin again and I would keep asking him to repeat,   I let him ramble and ramble, and kept asking him to repeat until he finally hung up.

    Caught off Guard!
A business person for 20 plus years, I was still dumb enough to be caught off guard and let this scammer into my family's computer!  Perhaps because I was home today and in holiday mode:(  I truly thought he was working on behalf of windows as a service! Ugh! I didn't give any payment info and i shut him down once he stopped making sense but now I can't even turn on the computer! What do I do? Help!

Just got one now. I knew it was suspicious when it said NEW YORK on the CID, I don't personally know anyone who lives there. So I came here and found out it was a computer fraud. Of course I know about these since I listen to Leo Laporte's Tech Guy radio show, and have heard about these. Nice try people.

They're soliciting child molestations. I think it's a common thing in India.

    Same issue
I have received calls from this number a few times.  I tried today to get the person to put me on their do-not-call list and he hung up on me.

In a previous call the caller referred to "Windows Microsoft."  A confused would-be scammer perhaps.

I tried to call-back the number but get a message saying I dialed "too few digits."

Jan 11 2013. Received a call last week from One Stop Arcade or something 212-000-3459  informing me they were representing Windows tech support and there were things going on in the background of my computer that would cause major issues and needed to be fixed.. The first time they called it was a female whose Indian accent was too thick to understand so she gave me another person to speak to. He asked me to type a url in my browser and when I saw that they were trying to remotely access my computer I advised them that I wasn't going to allow that as I was not sure they were from a trusted source. I hung up. They called again today, said he name was John, another Indian accent, and I asked them to provide me with a number that I could verify they were representing WIndows tech support and they gave 1-888-514-1650. I looked up the number on Google and discovered these other complaints. Glad I trusted my instincts.
