This scam is still well, luckily for us we had declined this offer as it had MANY red flags.  We were thankful after reading these posts that we didn't go through with the deal. Also, decided to send one last email indicating that she chose the wrong folks to mess with.  Her initial email came from an email address from the name of Henry Cooper, look him up as well.

OMG!!! I just got the same exact message from Jen Garcia!!! How on earth can they benefit from this??  WOW!!

What does this person get by sending such an email.  i fell for it, but don't know if i will get a check or not. dont the banks know a counterfeit cashiers check from a real one?  im glad i didnt give my home address.  Other than my name, what can they get from me.  im panicking now.

I also have stuff on craig's list. I receive an email from Wales Spencer as well except the email address is replied from is walescamp80@gmail.com. So this address needs to be added to growing list of other names this person uses.

They come from Ny and i have a name and address of the person thats behind all of this. Alittle trickery on my part. :) i was trying to sell my van and i got the same things said from the same person so i waited untill they sent me the chack and i emailed them back and said i cashed it and asked them what i was to do with the 1400 that was to be for shipping and they bought it and sent me another message and a name and contact info.    Let me know if anyone wants the info. My yahoo is kidscha     have a good one

I guess Its just changed a bit when I posted an ad on craigs list and got a response so I decided to do a search for the email address... Here's the email... I just wrote back and said to call me for information...

Listed a few items on Craigslist in Tampa bay area and quickly got an email from this person asking for my address. I just responded that my phone number was in the ad and never heard back. A few days later I am getting tons of spam in my mailbox... Be warned...

Just got a message from my craigslist posting from Jen Garcia -- glad I decided to do a quick search.  Something just seemed really odd about the message.  We just deleted it and will not reply.  Sounds like she's a busy gal.   Really, some people just need to get a life and stop scamming people!!!!

I went the second step and emailed her my full name and address as well.  The next day, I got the following email:

funny thing is, there were pictures of "the item" in the Craigslist post.

I got the same thing from a jennifer garcia with a check for over 2000$ and she is deaf its a scam! Dont follow through

I am being scammed right now. I got an emails from a deaf woman, Jennifer Garcia, saying she would pay $50 extra if I would delete the post. She said that due to her disability she had trouble with the movers, and would send me money to pay them as well. Then I got a check for $2425, with an explanation that this would cover my cost, mover's fee, and other purchases being made prior to her relocation to CA from NY. I am supposed to send a money gram for a couple K to some asian guy in CA. I have the fedex envelope and the check. Will be taking to the local precinct along with print outs of the emails.

The awful thing: the check was made out to my work place, even though I asked for it to be made out to me. I thought, like others, that it would have an extra $100 or so to pay some craigslist mover guy. These people are scum, because they prey on your kindness.

     I am sorry to hear about your father. Although I have to admit I now feel a little uneasy you sending me such a large sum of money ($3,450).  Also why wouldn’t you just send me the $200 I ask for (you can save yourself the $50 for me going to western union) And money gram the shipper yourself? That alone could (if I were to just take it) save you a total of giving $3,450 to a complete stranger (from some third party check [your friend] ). Your unquestionable trust makes me feel uneasy. Please call me so we can discuss this matter in greater detail.
Sounds like check fraud to me.
