- Beware the DevilThose employees, working for KC, do you have one bit of ethical morality? Do you really believe in what Rob Selfors has done to both workers and homeowners ? Has he tried to use the Lord's name in vain; to state that he is honest ? Do you not believe he is sitting on at least $2M while homeowners are short what they've been promised, while he has short changed his labor force ? Does in sound like a contradiction to words of the Bible itself, while at the same time try to same he's a man of the Word?
He used exploited both honest homeowner and hard working Carpenter. And if you recall history, the Bible, who was a Carpenter...and who was unfairly taking money from people.
Do you believe in the Devil. The disguise people use. He was an shoddy car sales man at best. Do you really think he's honest ? Do you think he really made that many dumb mistakes - and he's just an honest guy ?
Quit ! Before the Devil beseeches your soul. Your doing no righteousness by either party except the Devil.
You are dealing with the Devil. If he weren't, he;d repent and give up his property in hopes of others he gave promise. But selfishness and greed is the Devils way. He need not burn in hell. He shall burn here on earth.
Those who try to speak the Lord's word, only to make money, are trickery and deceit in its simplest form
Everyone quit today. See where he is left. Ask him to forfeit his property in mistake for others. See what he does. If he does do that (give up his possessions, then he is a TRUE man. Otherwise, he speaks of the Devils tongue. - Client replies to nick nack paddy whack give em all a loanNo, I didn't think it was too good to be true! I paid a lot of money for my kitchen because of it's size. The flyer gives a price on a "small" kitchen, so they compensate for larger kitchens. In fact, their painting fee is ridiculous. I don't believe the cost was much lower than if I had it done elsewhere. What caught my attention was the interest free financing for four years and the timely fashion they proclaim to get the job done.
I was not naive enough to believe it would be done in ten working days, but I didn't expect over two months with me being the project manager.
But, again, it wasnt a bargain! - :( replies to you dont know jack...jackSo do you plan to pay your employees that sold all those kitchens?
- KC UpdatesAnyone with any Kitchen Carolina updates? Has anyone visited the office in Graham lately? What is going on there? Are they completeing any kitchens now?
Hopefully everyone has filed a complaint with the NCDOJ.
Anyone planning on going to small claims court? Or filing class action suit?
Please post the status of your situation and any updates. - KC Update| 2 repliesThe BBB link is gone from the Kitchen Carolina website....surprise, surprise.
Guess they didn't want potential new customers getting the link to the NCDOJ website!! - nick nack paddy whack give em all a loan replies to KC Update| 1 replyTo the best of my knowledge they are still up and running. People are being paid and kitchens continue to be finished.
Not all subs have been paid in full but most people are being paid.
It appears to me that they are indeed trying and if the last few weeks are any indication the future looks good to at least finish whats been started.
If it was some kind of a scam the bank accounts would have been cleared out and the selfors would have cleared out of town. I do not think this is the case and I have said all along to give it some time instead of all the knee jerk reactions that have appeared.
I say good job to Kitchen Carolina and Merry Christmas. - Nickel and Paddy WhackedI agree with you. It's not a scam. Mr Selfors has had good intentions. KC simply should have throttled back and ensured processes were perfected. You can't throw people at a bad process. It only further convolutes the broken process further.
In the same vane, of Christmas, lets hope everyone is in the pursuit of good. Look for the good in people.
To KC: You need a Cross-Functional Team. Each Lead must be an expert in their area. They hire, fire, and are eventually accountable for any poor work done at the customer site for that function (Electric, Cabinet, Tile, etc). A *real* project manager should be there to lead those Managers with a real plan (an MPP - if you have a Project Manager that doesn't know what an MPP is - tell them to go away.) And finally, no home gets started without all resources committed and line up. A good Project Manager should be able to tell you that. No resources = No Plan.
Merry Christmas - Kitchen Carolina mess| 1 replyTo: nick nack paddy whack give em all a loan...
I appreciate that you are trying to give KC the benefit of the doubt. I do not know that KC intentionally tried to defraud and deceive customers...like you I try to assume that people are honest and straightforward...HOWEVER... the facts speak for themselves. There are many homeowners who were deceived, lied to, provided shoddy work, and are left wondering where is the beautiful remodeled kitchen is that they contracted for. A company is only as good as its reputation and track record and unfortunately KC has more disatisfied customers than satisfied ones. Until I start hearing from real customers that KC is actually providing the services that were contracted/paid for then I will not assume that all is good. They have a long way to go to earn my trust. AND I think they need to answer to the NCDOJ and BBB and prove that they are an ethical business. The jury is still out... - nick nack paddy whack give em all a loan replies to Kitchen Carolina messYour jury is in and you have found them guilty. You want the DOJ to investigate any wrong doing then that is certainly something that should be pursued and if wrong doing, hanky panky or any other criminal activity has been going on then they should be dealt with.
it's not a matter of benefit of doubt. I have doubted them all along. they cant meet a deadline to save their butts and many of the subs they have hired sucked but they have had many good ones too. Almost each and every kitchen I saw looked great and in the end there was a satisfied customer. So the shoddy work you speak of would have to be shown to me. I know in many cases that bad work has been replaced or repaired that happens with each and every trade on commercial and residential jobs. The companies that fix their mistakes are the ones with character and are honest.
They guy who tells them to hire experts in their respective field to hire the tradesman needed is 100% correct but they will not listen to him. They will pass right by the most qualified for the job and hire someone who has been doing it for a short time because they think they have a handle on it and go back to letting 1 person hire for all the trades.
Hell My children can fill a quota.
I don't know if they are selling new kitchens again. I hope they are and I hope their plans on going into other states works out for them but if they don't change the structure they will fail again. They have team leaders who are all competing for the same stuff and will be willing to cut each others throats to get what they need to be done. None of them want anything to do with an expert in any field, it treads on the power of who they are. (These experts need to work in all the area codes not just 919,336,704 etc.) I bet the team leaders don't want some plumber telling them how to run their job but that's where they loose the point. its not about telling them how to do the job its about getting the job done, working as a team and keeping the mickey mouse crap out of the way.How many men are team leaders..none, how many of those girls have ever run a construction job... none. But these are the people who run the show.
They have to have people who know a trade run the trade.
1 master plumber can hire each and every plumber needed and he needs to be on the road making sure that new guys are doing it right. Has anyone even started on company policies yet. It is the same for all the other trades as well. If they choose not to hire the top in the field ( many of who are subs working for them right now in all the trades)Then they will limp along and continue to tear out work and have unhappy homeowners.
If they hire new guys as experts they will loose the good ones they have now because they will feel slighted especially those who helped out in such a difficult time. All the team leaders think they have the best guy for the job, and guess what they still have several pigs doing work for them.Thats each and every team leader. They need to get together as a group and evaluate each and every guy they have and give them a number between 1 and ten. You have to use the best at # 1 before #2 or three.Thats the guy woh gets work first.
Rumor has it that some of these girls flirt with subs and they get all the work and are covered for when things go wrong..Call the homeowners look at the records hire the best to hire the most qualified you can.
They may not survive and may not be able to restructure in the correct way. But if they keep hiring bad subs they will keep chasing jobs and paying twice.
Is there anyone working at the office that is an expert in any of the trades they use..maybe a carpenter or 2 but not plumbing, electrical,or flooring and that's what they need to change. Don't let the carpenter hire the plumbers or electricians or flooring. And don't let the plumber hire electricians...etc.
Change the way you hire. Hire your best to hire the best. They all know good guys in their trade. its only common sense.
This will be my last transmission to this group and I want KC to get on the right track..looks like they got the train moving in the right direction but the train is loaded down with burden. Lets all help them build up steam to become the engine that could and watch this video below for more encouragement. thanks
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIRna9Q4l_g - Whacked replies to nick nack paddy whack give em all a loanAre you serious? I, hopefully, am one of the few the lucky customers that is done with their kitchen. However, it wasn't because of their ethics and morals!
I was promised more than they delivered. I should be reimbursed for being my own project manager. I'm lucky to have my job, because of dealing with them and wanting my kitchen back!
"good job" and Kitchen Carolina don't belong in the same sentence.
And I thought I was "naive". - NC Native| 1 replyHas anyone heard of any progress from kitchen carolina on making all (400+) of these uncompleted kitchens right?
Any subs out there that are working with KC again?
Any homeowners who are getting a positive response from KC and actually getting their kitchens completed?
Please post if you have any new developments or updates. I am curious if Kitchen Carolina is really making an effort to get back on track.
I hope so. - Sceptical but HopefulOur kitchen is about 70-80% complete. We were waiting for a new cabinet from Armstrong, and Kitchen Carolina delivered it to us this afternoon. I'm as surprised as anyone, but they are moving forward with our job.
A few caveats--we are still managing our job for the most part. They don't show a lot of initiative but they will do as we ask and make the phone calls and appointments that need to be made. Our biggest unknown is our tile floor which has never been flat and has been left half-grouted for the past month while Kitchen Carolina works out this mess. If we get our kitchen completed (which, with the delivered cabinet, is much more possible) we'll feel a little less ripped-off, but I think I will always wish I had never seen that flier.- Caller: Kitchen Carolina
- Dissatisfied replies to blwatersYou can eat those words now.
- done with themI have had it with Kitchen Carolina. Rob is a complete jerk! Cana, is a joke, she is so fake. Don't fall under their spell. They want you think that they are reorganizing and working hard to finish kithens. They STILL don't know what they are doing, they STILL have a bunch of idiots working for them. There are one or two good PM still there, the rest of them don't know what they are doing. They haven't finished kitchens that they started 4 months ago. So many unhappy customers and upset contractors. Don't believe ANYTHING Rob tells the new so called contractors. You will end up like the rest of them, all work, no money!
- another one replies to Jessica and Nick| 1 replyjust a message to all you poor customers and subcontractors out there who were screwed by Rob Selfers.
To the customers: I feel bad for you and i hope that you will eventually get the kitchen that you have paid for. I worked for this crook..........Not knowing what kind of person he was or what kind of company he was running until recently. EVERY single home that we went into, the customers were very upset with the customer service they were recieving from kitchen carolina. we did every thing we could possibly do to help the customers and provide a good installation. I'm sorry for the problems that you had and will continue to have with this company. Don't trust them!!!!! Rob Selfers is a liar! He claims to be a christain, I hope and PRAY he will get what is coming to him and his crazy wife Cana.
Armstrong decided not to back Kitcdhen Carolina for a reason. They didn't wont to get caught up in his scam. Kitchen Carolina continues to sell new kitchens, they continue to hire new and unexperience subcontractors.
To the subcontractors.............WATCH OUT..Rob's little conference calls and meetings are a joke.... He owes too much money to the contractos and reimbursing the customers for finishing their own kitchens. You will NEVER get the FULL amount owed to you from this man.
His staff is still unorganized and doesn't have a clue as to the whole process of a turn key kitchen. Getting parts ordered and ordered right the FIRST time is SAD!!!! They are under trained and under paid.
Rob let the good PM's go and kept the unexperienced ones to save money and keep from having to pay them their percent of the job.
What a A--!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry to all involved with this company. - inside replies to these people are scammers| 2 repliesWe had a big meeting on Tuesday dec 29, 2009 with all the sub contractors. Rob is full of it........... don't beleive anything he says. He is a liar and he KNOWS he can't pay any of the sub contractors to do the work. he makes promises he WONT keep. He is still unorganized and doesn't know how to run a business. He continues to take on new kitchens JUST to get their money, and NOT finish their kitchen. On Tuesday Cana, the bi---! was on the phone talking to a potential new customer, with her fake voice , trying to sound all sweet and innocent. The potential customer wanted references, Rob's contractors license # and all. As soon as Cana got off the phone with the customer, she started bad mouthing her, just because she wanted this info on Rob. Nothing has changed in this company. Rob and Cana are still up to NO GOOD and they continue to scam customers and mislead contractors. Contractors BEWARE, read the fine print in your contract...You will NEVER see the flat rate fee, this is how he gets you. If the customer isn't satisfied, wheather it be with you, the contractor, or with Kitchen Carolina, you WILL NOT GET PAID!
Rob thinks its funny...and he LAUGHS behind the contrctors back, he thinks you ALL are stupid and will fall for anything he says. To Tracy D...western cabinet installer...don't listen to the crap KC tells you, they ...Rob & Cana talk crap about you and your work behind your back. He says you and your wife are annoying and they wish they could get rid of you.
Rob talks a good game....but he wont live up to his end of the deal...he is just out to make all the money he can in the shortest amount of time possible. Leaving the customers out of a completed kitchen and contractors out of their money.
I can't take it anymore.... I'm sick of working for someone who is 2-faced and full of s---! I wanted to help get things back on track, hoping that Rob and Cana was willing to change, but its the same thing over and over... I'm tired of getting blessed out by the customers and contractors for ROB stupidness. He's a man on a mission...to collect as much money as he can from anyone dumb enough to give it to him, so he can pay off his 450.000 house he just bought. BEFORE THE BUSINESS GOES UNDER AND HE FILES FOR BANKRUPSY. leaving us ALL holding the empty bag. And he laughs about it......He IS planning on paying his house off in the next few months, then filing bankrupsy so he doesn't have to pay anyone.
leaving all those new customers without a finished kitchen and contractors out of their money. SO RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN...DON'T LET THIS MAN DO THIS AGAIN!!!!!! - Nursingwoman replies to blwaters| 1 replyWe were completely scammed by this company...do yourself a favor and call ANYONE but Kitchen Carolina......
- dont fall for this scam replies to these people are scammersI am yet another person scammed by Rob Selfor. Do NOT let this company get away with taken your money. he has lied his way into so many homes, and he continues to sell new kitchens to unsuspecting customers. He and his wife are liars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They will take your money and leave you wthout a completed kitchen. It will take FOREVER to get your kitchen together and you will end up being your own project manager. This company is very unprofessional and they are incapible of knowing how the turn key process works. You are better off going to Lowes, Home Depot or Sears to get your kitchen done. The 0% financing kitchen Carolina offers is not worth the hassel....TRUST ME!!
RUN>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> - Done with KCCheck out the NEW Kitchen Carolina website.... they have testimonials from satisfied customers. I am sure that they are all fabricated. There is no way that they could get that many people to say they did a "great job". I can't believe that they are selling their "services" again... hopefully new customers will do some research before they sign. It makes me sick to see the Selfors continue to rip people off and get away with it...It's not right.
- KP replies to TA| 9 repliesIt is not turn key. YOU have to supply the lights, appliances, ect. and what you see in the pictures is not what they do. IF you want the extra's such as under counter lighting you will pay $1500.00 for it and they only pay the electrician $300.00 . Painting is also not included and if they ruin your ceiling (like they did mine) then you have to pay someone to come in and redo your ceiling that you otherwise would not have had to have done. If you have any common knowledge do not let these people in your house as I did I regret the day they stepped foot in my house and will regret it till the day I die. Get you own local people (licensed contractors) to do the work. Everyone at my work it calling my kitchen "Hell's Kitchen" I have been to hell and back with this company.
