- Small Business replies to insideThanks Inside for your in side description of what we have already experienced. I agree, the Selfors are trying to keep part of or all of the sub hold back money with this satisfaction clause (and other things) that clearly was read as being tied to your portion of work (common sense). This contract satisfaction requirement Rob is trying to redefine as applying to the entire project is part of a Kitchen "Subcontractor" Agreement as PRINTED AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE (dah)Overreaching! Subs can't be held to General Contractor requirements (laugh). If there are 2 ways to take something (a huge stretch) it must be taken in context of the type of agreement and the industry standard. The legal definition of a sub is someone who is responsible for a "portion" of a Project (they are not a GC) therefore, Rob claiming subs are to be held responsible for an "entire" project net loss due to no fault of their own is a HUGE NEON SIGN that speaks volumes of these people. Those subs that served formal notice of liens have been paid, those who went small claims and won Selfors appealed so choose wisely. Tell your customers and if they have paid in full have them call the State Attorney now & make them aware & the finance company.
- upset replies to bullyou can screw yourself if your with the company.first i have done very good jobs and also i have owners who are very pleased with our work
- isaias replies to Feeling LuckyHi, if you are still looking for an installer you can contactme at quetranpa@hotmail.com
Lockily i only installed 2 jobs for these crooks, i'm going to court soon to face rob, any questions from anyone you can drop me a line thx - mike replies to ECP. Inc| 8 repliesECP. shut up and stop leaving posts on here. You sound like rob and all his excuses to me.I know great quailty cabinet installers who have gottin screwed by this moron. I also know that there are over 80 complaints to the attorney generals office. Don't sit here and defend a guy who was out to screw people from the get go. That line he got "to busy" is a load of crap.I had my own business and not once did i ever tell a customer i would be there next week when i knew i couldn't be.I would tell them it would be about 6 months before i could start it. Trust me if your good a customer will wait for you. I left behind 2 years of work in my home state that i had contracted. The only reason i left is my wife took a management position in BIG corparate america where she worked for 28 years. So don't come on here spewing your garbage about all the mess YOU'VE cleaned up, cause you have no clue what your talking about. Its alot deeper then the "MESS" you think you cleaned up.
- ECP. Inc replies to mike| 7 repliesI'm not defending anyone on here just stating a fact. Something went wrong with that company "Kitchen Carolina" or what ever they call themselves you dont open a business and and after 7yrs...(yes they have been in business acording to BBB and other companies in the area for about 7yrs)...Well you dont just start having 50 or 60 complaints without some kind of serious malfunction within the company. So look into what they are doing- Selling kitchen remodels... hiring anyone off the street to do work...then having to pay a second time for others to come in and clean up a mess..."you can not make money that way" also I'm sure alot of money has been mismanaged as well as having alot of people in an office that have no clue as to what is going on or even seen a site. So I have helped alot of customers out and Im not here bashing anyone as a matter of fact if for some reason you do have a problem with me or my company please call my personal number and I will sit down with you or anyone else one this site...I'm struggling in this economy like many others so I would love to be able and allivate some stress. My number is 252-659-2301 please call during business hours (7AM-7PM)Monday-Saturday
- mike replies to ECP. Inc| 6 repliesYeah the only MALFUNCTION in that company is the OWNER who is most certainly gonna take over sooner rather then later. Lets see , over 80 complaints in the state attorneys office, numberous sueing by customers who are doing it on there own,the BBB accreditation has been denied,a WRAL 5 on your side report,a times news report and many small claims in
against KC ,of which everyone of them have been won by the contractor .
Which by the way have been appealed by Rob Selfors. The last one he never even showed up. So i will call you so i can get rid of some of my own stress. - WhatDoIDo| 4 repliesHey,
I hired Kitchen Carolina in October, and we were supposed to begin by November 30th.
Month after month we were the ones that would have to call in to ask what was going on, and no one ever knew. We were told a later and later start date. Now the most recent is in April (5 months total delay period).
We paid 50% up front via check in October, to Jason the sales guy. We got the same e-mails everyone else eventually did from Rob about halting new kitchens for a while to get through their backlog.
Fast forward this past weekend, we get a phone call from Rob/The Infamous Owner himself. He wants us to have faith in him, and to ignore all the rumors. He wanted us to have his direct phone number/cell if we have ANY questions at all.
I did further research today, and from the sale of the company posting I found here, to the BBB accreditation removal, to the WRAL 5-on-your-side January report, to the endless posts about this company on countless complaint boards, to the 'rumor section' on their homepage that was added with no indication of halting sales immediately visible on their website, I was completely turned off by this company.
I've been told my cabinets had been ordered, I've been told my cabinets had not been, I've been told my cabinets were almost done, I've been told they don't know exactly where my cabinets are, etc.
I once spoke with a girl on the phone who had to let me know something was miscalculated and I was going to owe $1xx.xx extra on a tile I had selected which was acceptable (and indeed accurate). She wanted me to respond to an e-mail of hers she immediately sent out to me as confirmation. Then 5 minutes later when I respond I get a bounce telling me it is in invalid xxxx@tilecarolina.com address. Then when calling back the company to state this, and asking to speak to that person, they say that person is no longer working there. Was I speaking to a ghost?
So what do you guys recommend I do at this stage, I'd like to claim breach of contract in some form and recover my 50% down payment.
Help! - ECP. Inc replies to mike| 5 repliesLucky for my 12 employees only 2 got involved. The past few months I had 5 homeowners that we had the pleasure of renovating and adding on to their homes 3 of the homeowners had "KC" come in and do their kitchens what a mess thats my only involvement I was hired to clean up numerous problems other subs left behind and spoke with 2 women for payment for sending my guys in after the fact. Now the only thing I know about this company is through other subs (like yourself) and BBB also other investigators and a few of their X employees. I have the fortune to have several base contracts so I have not been affected by KC as many others and so many homeowners. After my 10 yrs in the Marines, recovering from wounds in Saudi I started my business when I was later discharged. Lucky to keep ties with the military. Many of you subs should look into getting on either at Cherry Point or Camp Lajeune. Best of luck
- dumb question replies to WhatDoIDoWhy are you asking for advice on this site instead of talking to an attorney?
- FeelingLucky to WhatDoIDo replies to WhatDoIDo| 1 replySuggest the following:
1) Definitely file a complaint with the NCDOJ. http://ncdoj.com/getdoc/fdbee1c7-c2a9-4f67-91 ... -Complaint.aspx DO THIS FIRST. Submit by mail and include an documentation you have. I indicated that I was very concerned the company would not be able to complete the job, citing the missed start date, online complaints, unable to pay for materials after finances were provided by consumer.
2) How did you pay the 50%? If you financed, contact your finance or credit card company and file a dispute if possible.
3) Consult a lawyer. You may be able to take them to court indicating breach of contract (e.g., Unable to meet substantial completion date, if on the contract) However, this could incur additional cost and time.
4) Call Armstrong yourself and follow-up on the cabinet order. 866-549-0515
Don't accept anything Kitchen Carolina tells you, follow through yourself to get the answers.
Good Luck! - nicknackpaddywhack give them all a loan replies to FeelingLucky to WhatDoIDoYou are going to receive zippo from these clowns.
They are on their way out. Slowly but surely. The new line of crap is the same as the old line of crap.
Rob (the puke) Selfors is a creep and a weasel. They have now entered into the area of federal bank fraud and fraud in general.
When the customers have to pay the subs because Selfors is a thief and a known thief there is something very wrong.
I cant wait until this clown is down and out of business just like the loyal subs he screwed over right before Christmas and kept everyone hanging on with those bogas conference calls acting like everything is going to be okay only to stick it so far up our butts it still hurts.
If i was a violent man Selfors would not be able to walk.
He claims to be a christian and follows jesus. but all he and his forehead challanged wife do is hide behind him.creeps - AnonymKitchen Carolina sucks and won't receive their last payment from me! I took on this project while my husband was deployed to Afghanistan and as if being without him wasn't bad enough, Kitchen Carolina left me without a kitchen sink for 3 months! We have four children and I was having to do dishes in the bathtub! Finally I had to hire plumbers on my own and that was not the end of it! Each time I called to state my problems, nobody knew what was going on cause they were hiring and firing people left and right, I went through 4 project managers! My granite was not sealed and the counters have huge stains all over them, but yet they want me to pay for my last payment? Yeah right! Then they had the nerve to tell me to sue the granite company and go ahead and pay KC cause it wasn't KC's fault cause the granite was supposed to come pre-sealed from the granite co. I don't care if it's Mr. Rogers' fault... I paid Kitchen Carolina! I paid Kitchen Carolina! My project was started in September 09. It is now Feb 16th 2010 and they have still not fixed my granite. I don't blame the contractors, I wouldn't drive three hours to my house to fix something knowing I wasn't gonna get paid either! Kitchen Carolina is to blame! Question: it says on the Kitchen Carolina website that they did not go out of business, yet people say they have, what's true? I know I haven't heard from them.....Thank God! P.S...also my stainless steel stove was dented, cracks in the tile mortar and had to get my father-in-law to install the lights, they sent the cabinet guys to my house before the cabinets were even there and made me miss several work days cause they were supposed to have a contractor come and nobody would show. I understand accidents happen and I don't care that my stove was dented really, and I guess mortar can crack, but don't ask for my final payment when the work was not great and I was put through hell...well u can ask for it but getting it is another thing. Guess we will go to court too! I feel bad for the contractors, but I feel bad for me and the other customers who got screwed more. Put a lien on me if you want, I only owe 3,000 dollars, but I'm not worried,
- mike replies to ECP. Inc| 4 repliesI have 2 sons in the military ,ones a marine whos deployed right now in afghanistan and has done 2 other tours one in afghanistan and other in iraq. My other son is air force and flys . But regardless of that what does any military have to do with the screwing that homeowners and contractors are getting by this THEIF rob selfors? Where does the military play a part in this? Is it that you want sympathy from people so they'll hire you to finish there cabinets for them? It kind of reminds me of this economy, 3 years ago you couldn't hire a good carpenter for 17 to 20 dollars an hour, with todays economy those same carpenters are being asked to take 10 dollars an hour because a company wants to exploit them because they can't find work. It kind of reminds me of what your trying to do, trying to take advantage of the homeowners who have been exploited by KC . Then talking about your injury as a marine in Saudi. Whats that got to do with anything? except get sympathy and maybe a few jobs from here. Which by the way you have posted several times on here about hiring you . Like i said i know several good installers who are out of work and have been screwed by KC for large sums of money. You may not like what I'm saying here but its what im getting out of what your saying.
- Anonym| 2 repliesKitchen Carolina screwed me, washing dishes in the bathtub cause they took three months to put in my sink, dented my stove, lied to me, etc.....but here's how I screwed you... I got your All American Kitchen package ($17,000) when it was 60% off. And since I have so much proof of your crappy work and service I will not be paying my last payment of $3,000. So thank you Kitchen Carolina for my kitchen that in total cost me a grand total of $4,000 dollars!
- Benjamin J. Whysall replies to WhatDoIDoGEt your money back & leave them to wallow in there unsavory business practices.

Submit by mail and include an documentation you have. Inc replies to mike| 3 repliesWell to answer your question about sympathy from home owners why would I do that. I simply stated my mind is to the point where you dont want to push my buttons not asking for sympathy just wanted to let you know so we dont let this get too far out of control. I could care less about KC I do not associate myself with them anymore or any of their customers Im here now because of you, to answer you questions and trust me if you want to pick on someone you couldnt have found a better match. Now it's simple if you want to persue talking about me on here then tell me a good place where you would feel comfortable meeting in Pinehurst otherwise Im through on here and I suggest you find someone else to talk about KC with.
- nicknackpaddywhack give them all a loan replies to Feeling Lucky to PMof4Rob told me that he has found an investor and he has been informed to file for bankruptcy and reopen under a new name with the new "investor" emulating everything that KC did from the beginning ie.GE credit,Armstrong etc...so if they owe you money you need to get it and if your a homeowner that still owes them it's a good chance they are going to take your money and screw over any sub that has worked and is owed. Don't let this slob get away with it..Home Owners hold your money until all your subs are paid and get a lien release from them personally.
Nick - Feeling Lucky replies to Feeling LuckyWell, now their web page no longer has the Customer Service page. How fitting for this company.
