I havent been on here lately, but that is about to change. I was a cabinet Installer for KC and they took me for $5800. I have taken it to court and won but Rob filed for appeal he then tryed to settle with me for $2000 and I said no, I asked why he would offer me anything and he said because I did such good work and he felt I should get something, as if I beleive that.  He said that he would just drag this out in court as long as he can, as if that scares me. I also had heard that he is closing down KC and reopening with a new name and new investors. I am going to do everything I can to stop him. And yes Rob I am being snarky as you put it.  Joel

Anyone up for the latest on Rob!  I just heard from a reliable source that rob has asked someone to build him a house.  Gosh!  maybe we could pass a collection plate to help fund his new house-----OH, wait a minute he has already taken a collection from everyone.  Hey, Rob I know of several subs that would love to build you a kitchen!!!!   As with kermit I share the same story of Rob owing me money and was so willing to cut me a check for pennies on the dollar.  I go to court next week for Arbitration.  Brian

Need a Lawyer familiar with Kitchen Carolina.

My name is Robert J. Murphy. I live in Raleigh North Carolina.

I was promised a Turn-Key Kitchen in 10-Days. The project started in September of 2009. It was never finished. The total amount of the work was for $26K. They took $20K immediately from my credit in September. There is a laundry list of "finishing" that needs to be completed in terms of Turn-Key as promised.

I have two estimates to complete the work and both total up to $8K. I am owed the difference from Kitchen Carolina : $2, 000.

Kitchen Carolina is disputing that I owe them $6K.

I would like to retain a Law Firm that is familiar with this corporation in order to leverage information gathering found through previous litigation.

    I can be contacted at : rjmurphy@cisco.com or 919-476-2577

Robert J. Murphy (Raleigh, NC) Reporting Back In :

    (1) Please keep the phone calls and contacts coming. We will be able to pool our resources together to possibly sue Kitchen Carolina. If we can prove Misrepresentation and Deception we have the right to sue for Punitive Damages. If we were to win, KC would be obligated to pay Punitive Damages and Money's Owed to the Homeowners in Triple (Legal Term I believe is called "Treveled"). KC would also be obligated to pay Attorney Fees for the Homeowners Represented. (I want to obtain ONE Law-firm that can represent 95 plaintiffs (that's a lot of incentive for a Lawyer. Just as the Attorney representing KC has that same incentive) : See Mr. Selfors quoted response below in (2))

    (2) When I contacted Mr. Selfors of Kitchen Carolina this past week, I informed him that KC actually owes me an approximate sum of $2K.

Mr. Selfors responded with the following :
"It is unlikely you will be able to escape paying what you owe us, given North Carolina’s contractor-friendly legal system. We have retained an attorney to represent us in 95 collection cases, so litigating is in our plan. We would be happy to discuss a settlement in advance of litigation."

In closing, my estimate for repair was actually very generous as many items (damaged cabinets) were not included in this estimate. I will be seeking a more comprehensive estimate that truly encompasses "Turn-Key" and "Luxury" kitchen as indicated in the flyers we all received.

After having had to endure 4 months of living outside my home and literally act as Project Manager for this remodel, I was exhausted. After receiving the letter from the KC Attorney, I am now reinvigorated and intend to sue Kitchen Carolina of Misrepresentation, Deceptive Marketing Ads, and breach of contract.

The one thing I noted was common amongst all contractors entering my home was the fact that the scope of work provided to the subcontractor was far less than the true scope of work. An example was that I had Tile throughout the Kitchen and Mudroom (where new hardwoods and tiles were to be added). Both tile contractors and hardwood floor contractors were both under the impression that linoleum was on the floor. This was AFTER the fact that I told KC several times that I had tile and to PLEASE scope the work properly.

I am fully in this fight and look forward to exposing, what I allege, to be a con game. I will allege that Kitchen Carolina had NO intention on maintaining the business. They took advantage of GE Credit and absorbed all revenues immediately before starting the project.

Litigation as part of a Business Plan ?

    Thanks,
    Robert J. Murphy

I worked as a Project Manager for KC for 3 1/2 days.  I received calls from unsatisfied customers all day every day. I forwarded these complaints to "management" and was told to basically ignore them.  I encourage everyone to pursue legal action against this company.

    From the Kitchen Carolina Website:

    ----------------------------
    Dear Customers, Contractor and Friends,

We will always appreciate the faith our hundreds of customers have put in us, and the hard work all our installers did for us. Unfortunately, given the events of the last few months, we have no choice but to close our doors.

Friday, March 12, 2010 will be our last day at aur offices in Graham. With tears, we leave behind our home for the last 8 years and the many people who have hung their hats here over that time.  A good many fine people have lost work with our closing, and our thoughts and prayers are with every one of them.

For the benefit of our customers and contractors, a handful of our longer-term employees have kindly volunteered to help out from home to finish up what still needs finishing. They will be reachable by cell phone:

    Brandon (336-525-1522 - brandon@kitchencarolina.com) and jennie (336-988-2698 -
jennie@kitchencarolina.com) are going to help finish up projects and handle warranty issues.

Heather (336-988-2558 - heather@kitchencarolina.com) will continue to help with payables.  She will mail checks out, as needed, every Thursday, or as customer checks are received.

Jessica (336-350-3856 - jesssica@kitchencarolina.com) will stlll handle collections and closing out projects.

Denise (336-887-2113 - denise@kitchencarolina.com) is our legal lialson. She has agreed to stay at it until the last dollar is collected,

The owner is still available at his old number (919-270-9156). ihe six of us plan to be keep at it for the next few months to get everything wrapped up and closed out, unless one of them find other work in the meantime.

    Blessings,

    Your Friends at Kitchen Carolina.

The person who applied for the corporation is David S. Crump and he is an attorney. Is he robs attorney.

Wow now a lawer is part of the scam. better watch those contracts folks and read them thoroughly because once you get an attorney in on the scam the contracts will be very tough to break and you will not be able to read between the lines..We need to contract those tv people again and tell them that the scam is going to continue.

Its so funny. They screwed up on the domain and didnt realize that even though they built a new page for the other company they were to stupid to change the domain as well. Now the link from American kitchens goes directly to Kitchen Carolina because they are to dumb. The screwed up on this one and its just to funny.
Lets follow these clowns down the yellow brick road and see if they can find a brain for the scarecrow.
I have been in contact with the 5 on your side guys and they are very very interested in these new turn of events.
On Monday I will be contacting the Attorney General to inform them that this is what they are doing now.
    This lawyer.
I will also be writing a blog that will follow these links and will try to screw then as much as possible from gaining any ground.

i find it funny that a liar such as rob selfors is not even a good one,hes had a lifetime of lying to perfect his art of lying. i hope that he realizes that the more he does the more we know.this is not going away any time soon.what he doesn't get is that everyone and there mother knows everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie,he swears to god on everything he says as the truth.i wonder if his pastor has realized he lies so much and makes any excuse at all to lie.he lies to cover up a lie he says.its almost like hes in a hole thats 6 feet deep and if he tells the truth ,he can get out of that hole, but with all the lies hes told that hole is now 25 feet deep he needs to get out of.the only god he has is the devil.
