I WANT THEM TO STOP CALLING MY JOB. LEAVING THOSE CRAZY MESSAGES
FOREIGNOR KEEP CALLING.  GETTING A LITTLE TIRE OF THIS.

CAN SOMEONE DO SOMETHING.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I received this call 2 minutes ago the non-speaking proper English person calling on my job phone sad i'm being sued I don't or have never had any Payday loans and don't want any if what Alfalfa is saying is true about them buying peoples information im worried. I knew it was a scam because he asked me if the last 4 of my Social Was 7312 and I said nope and I hung up then they called right back with the last 4 of  my SS#  I'm going to report it because the number they called me from I tried to call it back and it says its out of service but they just called me on this number twice.

My wife received numerous calls from a Jenny Jones, Michael Carter and a Nick Miller guy. They are all indians and I know those are not real names. I called the number 415-952-3898 for her and a indian lady answered. I told her I knew she was full of S*** and that they were a fake firm trying to Phish for information for people to rip them off for money. I was then hung up on and tried to call back about 8 or 9 times, then finally the guy "supposedly" named Michael answered. I cursed him out and told him I reported him to the FTC and local police. I told him his name was [***] just like his whole fake firm. I said, "what kind of indian has a name Michael" I told him I am not stupid and to not call me wife ever again. I guess we will see what happens at this point. My wife and I have changed everything we can so hopefully it helps.

Just got a call from a stupid forign guy and I told him to cease and desist..

I had this number call me at work and tell me that I had a lawsuit under my name and social security number and kept asking for my lawyers number and that I had charges being pressed on my name and social security number. I said I don't know what you are talking about or where you are from. I kept asking and he wouldn't tell me anything except I needed to call back to the number above and have them get in contact with my lawyer to get the situation taken care of. How scary scammers are these days!!

When I called them number back it rings for 5 times and then beeps like a voicemail and there is no noise at all.

i received a call from this number and was told i also would be arrestted by 4:00pm today. When i asked what it was for they said a payday loan that was never paid for. I explained i had never taken a payday loan out and was not sure what they were talking about. they asked for the last 4 digits of my social and like an idiot i gave it to them. so i have filed a complaint to the FCC, FBI, LOCAL POLICE and anyone else that can hopefully stop them from doing it again. it was just bizare....even scary if you think about the fact that they already had my social number before i was the idiot on it. all i can do is contact my lawyer and see if there is something else i can do to protect myself.

what has a this world come to that they want to hurt innocent people to get something for themselves.
i feel for my children...they have to grow up in the stupid crap!

We also got this call stating there was an investigation against us and to call this number 415-952-3898 and we would need to provide our attorney name and address as we were being sued for a payday loan. SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received a phone call over my cell phone today.  It was a David Miller (haha) stating that I needed to call Attorney Michael Carter at the same # he was calling me from because there was "a case" filed against me.  I inquired what for and was told it was regarding a Pay Day Loan through Cash Advance USA.

I called back and "Attorney Michelle Brown" answered.  I asked for "Attorney Michael Carter" and he was unavailable.  She told me that I was "going to be arrested tomorrow".  I asked if she could give me the alleged dates of this Pay Day Loan and she hung up on me.

I called back and "Attorney Bernard" answered.  I told him I was inquiring about this case that I was told was being filed against me and that "Attorney Michelle Brown" had hung up on me.   I told him that I was told to speak with "Attorney Michael Carter"  he told me that he was ill and could not be there today and that he could help me. This guy put his hand over his receiver but I could hear him asking "Attorney Michelle Brown" why she hung up on me.   I couldn't hear what she told him though.

He wanted to verify that I still worked for Social Security Company.   WHAT A HOOT.  I said no I don't work for Social Security I receive Social Security. He said it was in reference to a pay day loan.   I asked for the date of the alleged loan.   He asked "are you saying you never had a Pay Day Loan?"  I replied that is correct.    He said that he would get the information and return my call in 30 minutes.

It is hilarious (to me)  that these people with these American names all seem to speak like people from India.  I know an Indian accent when I hear it.  I have worked with many people from India.   They have called me several times in the past two weeks.  It started up hot and heavy after I went online asking for Automobile Insurance Quotes in September, but I have had calls from them in the past.  They do have my correct name and social security number.  But incorrect income information and incorrect address.  The address they have is more than 2 years ago.

Don't worry.  They are just a group of people trying to convince other people that a debt is owed and unless they send money right away they will be arrested.

Legitimate collectors operate via the postal system and are more than willing to provide written proof of any alleged debt.

Here's an idea.  Get a whistle or one of those stadium fog horns and blow it in their ear when they call.   In all actuality they are probably calling from a call center in India routed through a land line based in Stinson Beach California.

I received a call on my cell and my job phone and I didn't give it out to anyone. I have although applied for payday loans online but never got through so I cancelled them so I thought. Now some arabic guy telling me that I have to pay for a loan that I didn't even get sent to my account. What the heck? Such a SCAM!!!!

they call threatening me and wishing good luck in my situation. like something bad going to happen. its the same african  guy calling.

I received a few calls from this number on my cell phone today and told them to stop calling me. The guy could barely speak English and started yelling at me over the phone saying I needed to listen to him! I hung up and then he calls my job twice and leaves my boss a voice mail. Couldn't understand the voice mail but I know this is a scam. I figure this is from when I filled an application a couple weeks ago for a pay day loan, but didn't go through with it. This happened to me before from a Florida number. same situation. At that time they were calling my parents and harassing them too! I didn't know at the time it was a scam. They threatened to arrest me and seize all my assets. Nothing happened though.

I got this voicemail twice from "Hollis Jackson", a man with a very thick foreign accent stating that I or my attorney need to call him back immediatelt regarding a very serious matter.  I don't need to call him back because I know this is just another of calls I get several times a  month.  They are all scams saying I owe for Payday loans and I will be arrested for bank fraud or have a suit brought against me.  First of all, I don't owe on any payday loans and if I did the laws in California (415 is a San Francisco area code) are very specific that deferred payment loans cannot be prosecuted criminally and it is against the law to even threaten criminal action.  Even if the lender is from another state or country, if the borrower is in California, they must adhere to California laws.  If they are Debt Collectors, they also must adhere to very rigid laws.  None of these callers have ever been able to give me an accurate name of the lender or the date the loan was taken out.  If they were legit, they would have this info in a Letter of Assignment.  They cannot legally represent any creditor without such a letter.  Most of these people work off cell phones so that it is hard to trace them.  Law enforcement has been totally unable to do anything about these scammers, so it is up to us to be ever vigilent

I receive 5 calls at my place of employment foreign woman with an heavy accent called stating I needed to call Michael Carter when I ask for information she got hostile and rude. Could not understand what she was saying she had a heavy accent . I advised her not to call my place of employment she would not stop.  My boss had to speak to her adv her to cease and desist the call to this number or we would seek legal action.

Just got a call on my cell phone and at work from an Asian woman named Angela who said she was a paralegal with some type of Department of Investigations calling on behalf of Cash Advance USA.  She said there was a lawsuit against me and the sheriff was coming to arrest me.  Wanted to know the name of my attorney as she wanted to fax over documents for him to review.  When I began to ask her questions she referred me to call attorney, Michael Carter which was the same number that showed up on my caller ID.  I called the number and a man answered claiming to be Michael Carter.  He placed me on hold and then Angela was back on the phone. She told me I owed about $800 and that she could probably work something out (oh I don't doubt that!). She would never respond to any of my questions.  I told her my attorney would be contacting them.  I filed a complaint with the FTC.

This #415-952-3898 Keeps calling me leaving me messages saying they need to hear from me or my attorney for a real important matter and if they dont hear from me or my attorney they wish me like on what is going to unleash on me so i called back and they said there a law firm they know my ss# where i live and where i work saying i had 3 cases of fraud against me saying i took out a payday loan and defaulted on it.This scam also is running under a couple other #s 414-448-2222 this is one of the other #s there using

I just got a call from this number today saying im going to be arrested on Monday for not paying a pay day loan. They couldnt tell me anything else but they did know my Employer, my SSN and home phone number. The lady said Michael Carter (atty) was in a meeting and then told me about my pending arrest. I then said "this sounds like fraud" and she hung up. I guess i'll talk to the cops on Monday, LOL!!

They left a message on my cell phone to talk to me or my attorney.  Do not ignore this message.  Good luck to me if I do.  I tried to call them back and I got a few rings and a screeching noise in my ear.  It was an Indian man from India.  I don't have any idea what he is talking about.

I have been receiving calls from this number Michell Brown , George and Stinson Beach, CA.
The first call sounded like Indian, carribean.  The second one sounded like an american no accent.
