I too got a call from this number yesterday about some important legal matter and that I needed to contact my attorney.  Guys name was David Johnson from "ROBERT BROWNS" office.  I was lost.  Just got a new cell, didn't know how someone got my new number.  So, I called back for the guy today.  I was told I had a payday loan that I never paid from CASH ADVANCE USA.  She said it was an online payday loan.  I knew I had never had an ONLINE payday loan, but I was all ruffled up after being told that the cops would be to my residence at 11:00 tomorrow morning, that I asked what it would cost to pay for it today just to keep me out of jail.  I HAVE NO RECORD OF ANY TYPE. I didn't want to go to jail.  When I asked her what I would have to pay today, she said to hold for a few minutes while she found out.  While I was on hold, I was online looking for this CASH ADVANCE USA place online.  Couldn't find it, however, I was lucky enough that the link for this PISSEDCONSUMER.com came up, and it was written all over the place about people complaining about MY EXACT SAME PHONE CALL.  I waited for her to get back on the phone and let her tell me all about how if I paid $998.33 today before they closed, then I MIGHT be able to get out of being arrested tomorrow and get out of in excess of $7000 in court fees.  THEN, I told her SO, WHAT THE F--- IS THIS SHI- I AM READING ABOUT PISSED OFF PEOPLE ALL OVER THE INTERNET ABOUT YOU GUYS CALLING AROUND AND SCAMMING PEOPLE FOR MONEY?  She snickered like it was a joke and said wheres that at?  So I told her where I was online, and she HUNG UP.  YOU KNOW? WHAT A WAY TO RUIN MY DAY?

I got the same call several times today.  The man said his name was Thomas Williams.  I called back and the woman started out saying her name was Michelle she was an attorney.  I stopped her mid-sentence to ask her what is the call about and she started yelling at me.  I told her I didn't have a payday loan and I was going to report her.  I called the local police department and talked to someone in fraud.  I am going to call the FTC tomorrow.  Even if you owe a creditor they have to give you the opportunity to pay what is owed.  I just know someone will be sending these people money.

If I get another call I am going to ask for someone that speaks English and I can understand.

I got a call on my personal line that went to voice mail at work 3 times today, they called my cell phone once on Sunday and then 4 more times today. In all the voicemails the person was very hard to understand and gave the name Jenny Jones. I originally got an email stating that this email was an attempt to collect a debt that I knew nothing about the email also stated that it was being sent by a division of the FBI.. When I tried to reply, it wouldn't send. When I called the number back today from work the first time I just got a loud beep (like an answering machine picked up). I hung up, waited 5 minutes and called back. Then someone answered and told me her name was Michelle Brown with the Department of Affairs and Legal Investigations. She asked me for my case number. When I said I didn't have a case number, she said oh. Then proceeded to tell me my full name, social security number, place of employment and address. They told me this was in reguards to a payday loan I took out that I falsified When I told her I never have applied for a payday loan she said " well I wish you good luck in jail and I hope you still have a job when and if you get out". I called my laywer and he took the number down and is looking into it further. His admin had the same thing happen to her today to from a different number, bet they were suprise when they got transfered to a real lawyer.
These people are crazy and need to be stopped. My grandmother who is in her 80's got a call today also from the same number stating that she was going to be arrested tomorrow.

I got a call from these people today at my job. A guy called and told me to call Michael Carder he is an attorney who will help me with the case that has been filed agianst me. Apparently I have not paid off a payday loan and after many attempts to contact me with no response charges have been filed and i will be arrest today at 4pm pacific time. When i started asking questions the lady hung up on me. I asked when? where? and what are you talking about? because I have never gotten a loan before. I had someone else call the number back and ask for Michael Carder and he is still in a meeting. Interesting!

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

Same story as above.  I actually read all these notes before I answered the 7th call in one hour.  Obvioulsy a foreigner that I could barely understand, with a name of David Miller.  He said he was from some Legal Services and that a case had been filed against me and my social secuirty number. I replied with uh-huh.  He asked me if these were the last 4 digits of my social security number, ****.  I said no, although it really was.  He seemed puzzled and asked if I would like to know what the case was about.  I said no.  He again seemed confused and asked me for my social secuirty number.  I replied with huh-uh.  He said he would need my social security number in order to tell me what the case was about, I said he could mail me notification.  He then hung up.  He had left a voicemail earlier in which I couldn't understand 95% of it but he ended with, "if you do not call me back now, all I can do is wish you good luck as the process unfolds".  Gosh, I HATE people.
