INDIAN ACCENTED CHARACTERS; 415 925 3898, "UNKNOWN" - SusieQI got the same call, telling me there were active law suits against me and it was urgent I have my lawyer call this lady with the Indian accent. It is traced back to a US landline but that line is only a port that the call comes through from India. BTW, my lady's name was Samantha! I asked them not to call back and they called back and left a message on my work voice mail. I called back again and said not call again and I hung up, then my phone rang again, and when I picked up, someone said "[***] You" and hung up on me. Real Nice.
- geezwhizzfilled out a form online out of curiosity for a payday loan. Didn't actually get one, but obviously they sold my information. guess i should have expected some d-bag to try and scam me.

- N CMy stepmom received a phone call from these people at her work, She wasn't there, but they left a message with her front desk. A Jenny Jones left a message stating that she was from a lega action firm. Complete scam. It isn't the first time that a group like this has called her, and it's really freaking irritating.

- Telma StephensI just had a voicemail on my cell and it was an Indian man claiming to have a case against me and to call my lawyer and to call them back now. I called back 4 times and no answer. I finally got a woman to answer (another Indian) and she told me that I would be arrested at 11:00 am tomorrow for unpaid payday loans. I told her I have never had a payday loan I am in the Navy and she said the sheriffs department would be contacting me to arrest me. They than called me later that Night and when I told them I looked the number up online and contacted my local police they hung up on me.
- Caller: UN KnowN
- LisaThey called me and said that there are several charges pending against me for a payday loan that I supposly took out but I never heard of the place that they was talking about. Claim that the cops would be at my house to arrest me and that they would have all the paper work. I don't know who this company is they don't give you information and when you ask question they get rude with you and hung up. So if anybody know how to report them or find out who they are because they know to much of my personal information for me.

- Harry MilesThese people have called me 6 times today. It seemed strange to me that they gave me the same phone number that they called from to speak to some attorney. First why not just transfer me to this "attorney"? Second why don't they answer the phone when I call back. And when I tell them that they are mistaken and try to call they don't answer at all or they hang up on me. Sounds like a scam to me!!!!
- Caller: Law Office Dept of Legal Affairs
- ktlyd replies to LizI got a call from this number today(10/25/12) stating that I owed a pay day loan from some years ago that I never paid on. When I asked for proof to be sent to me I was told that I'd get paperwork when the sheriff picks me up at my job. Well I decided that I would not be a victim and I called the Federal Trade Commission to get some advice. I found out that this is a big scam and the representative told me that I should no longer answer phone calls from this number. It's quite scary that these creeps have all my information at their exposure I really pray that they find these people. Anyway, here's the number for the FTC 877-382-4357. Please don't send any money to these people if they contact you...IT'S A SCAM!!!!
- ktlyd replies to AnnCall Federal Trade Commission @ 877-382-4357 let them know about the calls that you're receiving. I contacted FTC and was told that this is a scam. Please don't let them pressure you into giving them any money...they're a fraudulent company!!
- gary e.got the same call but they messed up this time. i work for the Goverment. and when they call again my phone with route them to the FBI
- gary| 1 replyeveryone needs to call them back and keep call every 5 mins. burn up their phone. These sand [***] will not like their phone ringing all day and all night. and do a conference call with the Local police on line or FBI
- Alfalfa replies to garyThis is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
ABC News released an investigative report on this scam in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:
