    Treasury Board Secretariat of Canada
Blue Valley Telemarketing in Home, KS - 1-785-799-3900 calls daily on my Canadian Fed Gov phone line. Several people on the blog suggest that I call them back to be removed from list but I do not want the Fed Gov work environment to be charged with a useless long distance call. The blog also indicates that the telemarketer does not answer their 1-800 line.

How do all of you know if they are not legal.?? Not all calls are illegal. You need to read the do not call" rules .I have called 785-799 3500 and haad good results. Maybe before you complain to much you should read the rules and follow the directions.
Or block the number on your phone.

I am a professional and receive several industry magazines. The calls are attempts to renew my subscriptions. As such, the DNC rules do not apply. However, I called 785-799-3500. Phone was answered immediately, and a very friendly woman removed my number from their database. No problem whatsoever. Entire process took 34 seconds start to finish.

I called 785-799-3500 and spoke to a person who said she would give my called number to "them" and it will be removed. She said that last time as well but that didn't stop them.  The callerID comes up as BVTM and the woman answers the phone as Blue Valley Telemarketing.  It wouldn't be as aggravating if when on the few occassions I do pick up it always drops immediately after.  This is a phone tree that must be stopped since they have no morals about what time they call.

No such thing as a legitimate telemarketer. They are trash and should be disposed of as such.

It is very easy to call and get a copy of the DNC list for the US and Canada. The number, email & address to write and request it is on both websites.

Now I have the list in hand, who do I call first?!!

The Do Not Call List is crap.

I called the removal number and a polite lady answered.  I told her I wanted my cell phone number removed from their database and gave her the number.  She asked and I told her what number showed up on my caller ID.  I also asked her to notify any affiliates or associates.  She said that the caller was probably calling about a free business magazine subscription that I had in the past.
It was less evil than I assumed, but still annoying.
