This is a phishing scam.  Did not call the number they left on my answer machine.  Called the number on the back of my card. PNC never generated a call to me and there have been no questionable purchases!

Totally a scam call. I've received two calls from them today, and one voice mail. The voice mail was automated, and was a 'fraud prevention' wanting to verify charges on my card. I did spend a lot today, so I just called the number on the back of my debit card. Transferred to the fraud department at PNC, and the lovely lady there went through and said there was nothing wrong with my card, no holds, and they would never call you to verify. If they suspected anything, they would just decline the card in order to get you to call them. It's a scam, and the lady told me to just block them from your phone.

I am not a PNC customer and nor have I ever been a PNC customer and I received a call from this number teling me there was a fraud alert on my account. I called the number back and when I asked the responding women her name or id she refused to give it to me, she did however ask me to call the number on the back of my card (I did not reveal I was not a customer), very fishy sounds like they are involved with active Mobile Phone numbers not really bank accounts. I will report this to PNC though as much as you scammers sound convincing, and I dont deal with PNC, I am convinced this is a scam, why was it ok for the woman on the other end ot ask me my name but it was not ok for her to give me her's ??

Number is fake, they have the information on the card, all they need is your billing zip code, which you know you supplied to verify it is truly you. Check your account to see the fraudulent charges.

Sorry you were scammed, this is not a legit number. The reason the charges were there after they called you, is while they were on the phone with you the charges were being made. When you called 1888PNCBANK, They were able to confirm the pending, out of state, charges.

You are working with Jon, both of you should get a job and stop stealing. This is in no way a legit number. The fraud department doesn't ask for billing zip or last 4 on card. They WILL ask for your personal phone identification code. But don't give it out unless YOU call 1888PNCBANK.  If you do give the zip, you will have an out of state charge show up on your account before you hang up.

Matt, you are part of this fraudulent ring as well.  No outside contractor is going to call on behalf of PNCBANK. if you need proof, call 1888PNCBANK.
    - All calls originating from PNC Bank will show up on your caller ID as "PNC Bank".
    - PNC Bank automated services and live representatives will never use your card number to verify your identity. It is too easy to capture by Phishers and scammers.
    - NEVER volunteer your SSN, birth date or mother's maiden name. You may be asked to confirm it is accurate when a representative provides it to you, but you will never be asked to provide it. Also, you are only ever asked to confirm that last 4 digits of your SSN, never the whole thing!!!!! If ASKED for any of this information by the system or representative, hang up, it is a scam.

It will not cost you anything but time and headaches because PNC Bank will refund the monies. However, it is allowing the criminals to get away with never having to pay for any of their purchase either.
Do not fall for this scam!
