- CourtBarksSaid they were AT&T and that my account was suspended, but that was obviously not the case since I’m using my AT&T phone right now to fill this out. Scam!
- Caller: AT&T - Scammer

- AdamMaybe the most official sounding scam call I've gotten yet. Combination of recorded human voice, robot voice, and "press one for...". Spoofed the official AT&T customer service number on my caller ID. Told me that my AT&T account had been suspended (I don't use AT&T). Recording asked for the last 4 of my social, and my account #. I entered some fake numbers to see what they would ask for next. It said please hold for next available representative, wait time of 30-35 minutes, then hung up on me after a few seconds. It only sounded "off" by about 3%. If I had an account with them, and was busy, and in the middle of something else when they called, they probably would have got me.

- Will replies to Sir BedevereI agree that they're spoofing legitimate numbers. I get similar calls that appear to be coming from within my work center. Sometimes they speak, most times not. They're probably just checking to see if it's a valid number. Anyway, when I received this call, it came originally from this number...253-905-6123. When I called this number, I got an automated response directing me to call 611 or 1-800-331-0500. Not! I just checked the numbers here and found comments.
- MBN| 3 repliesI am on the Do Not Call List. This call came to my mobile phone. I screen all unknown calls with my voice mail and do NOT answer the call. All I heard was a loud noise and then something like static. Never call these numbers back - then they know it is an active number. Report these calls to the FCC and Do Not Call sites. Number has now been blocked with Call Blocker.

- Tygerkat replies to MBNScammers don't care if you're on the DNC list.
- MaryCall came on my cell. I have Comsumer Cellular, don't like it at all... but the point is that I don't have AT&T. I thought it might be a political call, the midterm elections are almost here, and both parties are really starting to high-ball voters with mean TV ads and aggressive phone solicitations. So I didn't answer, and came here to 800notes. Most entries here say something about AT&T, and about being billed 9.99 without their consent. That is upsetting to me.
Just a side comment: I have had myncell number for at least a decade, never got crank calls on it, but since becoming a Consumer Cellular customer, I get lots of them. Solicitations, scams, political calls. Consumer Cellular is the most awful service I've ever had, and I blame them for this stuff, too.- Caller: Scam call

- Mary replies to MBN| 1 replyHoney, the FCC's main job is self-perpetuation. It's up to you to learn to protect yourself. If you still want to be a Good Little Citizen, go ahead and keep spending your time reporting these calls to the DNC line. After a while, though, you may start to think like me: it wastes your time, the time starts to add up, life is short... and just learn not to answer calls with unfamiliar CIDs.
- ThistleGot a call from 800-331-0500, automated voice says my AT&T count is suspended, and to press 1 to verify account. I don't have an AT&T account. This is a scam!!
- Caller: AT&T

- ScottIt’s a scam call. Says my account is suspended, but here I am still on.

- Mary replies to KyleI know how you feel! I do volunteer work of an emergent nature, and there's always that moment of stress as I check the CID. Does someone really need me, or is it a scam call? Occasionally I still get fooled into answering, but I've gotten better at identifying the real versus scam calls... and 800notes is such a good resource to identify the scam calls so I can ignore the Bad Guys!
- momThis number has been used for scams since 2007, at least. How can they get away with this? I received call but did not answer..no message.
- c. bentleykeeps coming to my phone. The recording is always partially cut off so what is you hear is "press 9 to be removed from the list'. No idea who is calling and won't answer anymore.
- Caller: Recording
- Call type: Unwanted
- C. BentleyRecording said to 'to reactivate your account, press 1, to be transferred to over to a representative, press 2." If this is a legitimate call, then someone is using my info for AT& T because I have not had an account with them in years!!!.

- LisaThis number called me and said that my AT&T account was about to be suspended, push 1 to keep it active. Then asked for the last 4 of my social. It showed up on the caller ID as AT&T Customer Care but was a mobile phone.
