- Aaron R.I received multiple calls from this number and didn't answer any of them. Finally they left a message but it got cut off so I had no idea what card was being marked as having a fraudulent charge.
Turned out it was my Associated Bank Credit Card. They told me about the charge they had denied and I confirmed it was not me. My card is being destroyed and a new one is being mailed.
It is always good to hang up from these types of calls and call the number on the back of your card. But do NOT assume the call is a scam and ignore it.- Caller: Associated Bank Fraud Department
- George BReceived a text from this number to contact them ASAP for suspicious activity on my account. Called my credit card company first and they did not have this number listed as an alert number. I then called the 800 number and they ask you to first enter the phone number you received the text on. After I did that I got a live person and they ask for credit card information, well I have quite a few, if you called me you should know which one shows the suspicious activity. Told him how would I know which card, then says he can't help me. Told him well it asked me at the beginning of the call to enter the phone number I was reached at, so look it up that way. Again, he says I can't help you need card number or ss number. Will not give that information over the phone to anyone. Checked several cards online and dont see any strange activity. Be careful. All these postings on this number are either positive or negative. Go with your gut feeling and contact credit card companies directly. Too much scam going around lately. You don't know who to trust.

- JoAnn B.This number is legit. I went online, though, to check the phone number posted on US Bank's website as the fraud number and called it instead. There was some fraudulent activity from a company in London with which US Bank has had issues.
- Caller: US Bank
- Bill in Fort Collinsvalid call regarding some fradulent charges against my credit card. I called the toll free number on the back of my card.
- Caller: 1-2-3 MasterCard -- Fraud Unit
- NotbornyesterdayI found the same message on my phone this evening, and then found this website with its conflicting answers. Since I very seldom use this card and usually pay it in full when I do, it should be VERY EASY to trace the source of the fraudulent charges, if indeed there are any, and prosecute the perpetrator. In fact, I paid it in full this very afternon, at the bank!! If there had been a lock on the card or a fraud alert, I would have been told when I was at the bank today.
I am inclined to think that the FRAUD is being perpetrated BY THE CALLER.. Since they already know your phone number and the last 4 digits of your card, when you call the number on the back of the card, OF COURSE the REAL fraud alert people WILL tell you that you have been a victim of fraud - BY THE CALLER - and will cancel your card and issue a new one to protect you from further abuses of your card by the caller. This in no way legitimizes the phone humber or the phone call.
I will go to the bank in person in the morning to straighten this out, cancel my card and ask for a new number. Other banks in the area have been victims of this SAME phishing scheme and have notified all its customers NEVER to respond to calls or e-mails about their accounts. Just go to the bank in person and let them handle it.- Caller: Claims to be fraud dept of US Bank
- Notbornyesterday replies to GaryThey could have hacked into the real number/phoneline on the back of the credit card and diverted the call to their own line. Do NOT call the fraud number on the back of the card. Go to the bank in person and let their customer service take care of it for you, and get a new card/number to be safe.
- RyanNumber is real. I didn't pick up the calls from the 800 number, googled the number, came here, and then called the # on the back of my card. 3 fraudulent transactions, card is cancelled and US Bank is sending me a new one.
- Caller: US Bank - Fraud Prevention
- coclyunderstand this is a scam
- TexasI didn't call that number back, BUT we DID call the customer service number on the back of our US Bank credit card and there WAS lots of fraudulent use of our card, so they're cancelling current card and sending us a new one.
- Caller: Card Member Service fraud service
- A Roy replies to ReneeIt is a legit number, but call your bank, that's the most secure process.
- "sarah" replies to US BANKThis is a very valid number! I currently work in us bank's fraud dept and it is valid. Its not a number that can be clled back. The best thing to do it call the bank directly to find out, not the branch but 24 hr banking.
- JoeThis is a valid call regarding fraud on your CC. I tried to purchase a couple watches last week and the transaction was blocked. The clerk called US Bank and I talked to the rep to get it straightened out. This morning I see to calls from this number on my work phone.
Bottom line, if you receive a call from this number, you need to contact your bank immediately and verify whether or not there is fraud on your account. Some charges won't show up right away with online banking, so best to CALL YOUR BANK!- Caller: Visa / US Bank
- Angela| 1 replyIt is a legit number. They gave me the last 4 numbers of my card that had fraudulent charges. All I gave them was the phone # they left the message on. I did not give them any additional information but I called my bank to find out it is a legit company that represents many different companies.
- Payback replies to Angela"A legit company that represents many different companies" So whats the name of the "legit" company?
- F Off ScammersThis is definitely a scam. Ignore the scumbag cockroaches on here that say it isn't. They are part of the scam. No bank or credit card company will call you asking for your information. They WILL ask for some of that information if you call THEM. YOU must initiate the call to THEM however. This number is not listed as any fraud information number from US Bank.
Thay can easily lift your name and last four digits of your credit card from most simple CC transactions. Hang up on them, or better yet, waste their time with false information or animal noises or something if you have the time to toy with these vermin.
No bank or CC company will EVER call YOU asking for ANY kind of PERSONAL INFORMATION. You must call THEM!
Wise up people and stop listening to the lowlife thieves and criminals slithering on here.- Caller: "Credit Card Fraud"
- james| 1 replyAppears legit but not positive about that... called back my REI VISA directly and they immediately transferred me to fraud prevention, and yes, someone had grabbed my card online. But that doesn't mean that this number was legit! Always safer to call back known bank numbers (why wouldn't they post this number on their website if it's legit, for example?)
- james replies to jamesfollow-up: Reading some of the other comments, I now realize I was too generous... the fact that my card was compromise IN NO WAY suggests that this number is legit, but actually the opposite. Counterintuitive approach (stealing a card and then calling to warn about it) but I would not trust that number!
- Carl replies to LukeNumber is probably legit, when I got the voicemail I called US Bank at the main number from the web site and once I entered my CC number was immediately transferred to the fraud department. Legit or not, call the number on the back of your card to be safe.
- AGLegit number, US Bank Fraud dept on behalf of Associated Bank. I have several declined transactions on my card and they took care of it. They are cancelling the card and issuing a new one.
- Caller: Associated Bank
- Frauders should die replies to US BANKThe person posting under the name US Bank keeps posting it's a scam while most peoplesay it's legit. I guess poster, US Bank, thinks he's made it. Maybe he can't get off any other way. What a l loser.
