I got a call from this number today.  Wasn't home and left no message.  But beware, If you did not call for service and someone wants control of your computor to "fix it" you are asking for trouble.  Don't do it!!!! It is a scam!

    Hey all you complainers:
I have been with HP for three years and have never had a problem with them.  I am on my fourth brand new printer and fax machine whenever it goes out of whack and they can't fix it they send me a brand new one free of charge, all I have to do is return the old one.  Their representatives have always been very polite and cooperative so I don't know what all you idiots out there are complaining about.  You must be stupid or something.  The even send me toner cartridges for free.  Some of you people out there just love to complain, what a miserable way to live, I pity you.

It's {definitely @!#%*HP}.  I just bought a HP 2000 NB w/ a 2 yr warranty ystdy. Also bought a Verizon Nokia 928.  Wanted to hook up both mainly for photography use.  Verizon tech was unable to figure out how to get photos from ph to pc.  She had me call HP.  HP wanted $59 bucks+tax to explain the process to me.  So I ended that conversation quickly.  I called Verizon again today, requested an advance tech & he ever so politely, courteously, calmly walked me through the steps for FREE of charge.

I have received several calls from this number supposedly regarding an issue with my HP computer.  I have never owned an HP computer.  I have told them repeatedly not to call me again, but I had a call come in today that I no one was on the line.  Apparently they place several calls at the same time to see if the phone is answered so they can call later.

I don't have a problem when I call them. They are always very helpful, but now I'm receiving calls from them and that is unacceptable. They don't talk, they just hang up.

About two weeks after having my new HP I saw a number listed as Microsoft being 800-705-8160 so I called them for help and I allowed a remote session.  They claimed my network had been messed with from prior back and for over $400 they would fix it. They gave me the number 855-441-1222 to  call them back as a seconded number in addition to 800-705-8160.  Anyways they made things worse, all I tried to do was find out why my new computer was resizing when I used Windows without me doing anything to cause this...  I got suspicious that I had not called Microsoft they gave me the second number to reach them at but I would not give them my card info etc..  I went back online and I saw they were not Microsoft and the add I had seen misrepresented who they were!
They messed with my computer, they made thing worse, they made changes and I tried to use RESTORE to get back to the way it was before I made the call.  Guess what, these phonies took out all my set Restart points, all of them leaving only to restore to the moment after they messed with my unit, but HP has a fail-safe so even though I would lose two weeks of setting up / customizing I had no choice they possessed my computer so I used the fail-safe and started over!
Still hoping to rip me off they called today about two weeks since the time I had called 800-705-8160 today they  called from 917-732-1678/9 representing themselves as HP, for I told the people at 800-705-8160 that I had an HP before they messed up my computer before I had no choice but to use the fail-safe and started all over as if it just came out the box, I told them I would check out who was calling and I found out it was not HP! I called them back only to get the message that those at 917-732-1678 could not take my call at this time...
Realizing from the time they called they must be the people I called two weeks back who falsely advertized to be Microsoft I called the 800-705-8160 number and heard the same voice that called me today from 917-732-1678/9.  I told them I now had this 917 number linked with the 800 number and I would report them, the man got cocky and you go ahead that's what I want you to do, he started talking fast which they do to keep you from getting all the info you want & have rights to, I said they are a fraudulent business and I am going to report them, again to intimidate me he said good that is what I want you to do.  Before these souls burn in Hell while they are still on earth they should be locked up!
I wonder how many people they tricked out of money so far???

Hi, this is what you call caller ID Masking. Basically phishing. HP's Tech support wont give you a call unless you initiated the call and have an agreement for callback. They only do outbound calls for callback. That number can be masked. Those are bogus numbers. They use HP's number for scam. HP wont ask for money, unless your device is already out of warranty. Learn from it. Most of the times they use Microsoft's number too. Again, if you did not call HP and they call you, It's not HP. :)

I was pretty happy with them too, but things have gone rapidly downhill over at HP customer service in the last year. Noticeably.

This is HP Tech Support. I've found them to be excellent. They called me to follow up on a problem that I contacted them with. I'll give them a 5 star rating for my customer experience.

I didn't get a phone call from them, but discovered a message about a "manufacturing error." I don't know how long it's been on there or how it got there. I'm glad I read all of these reports and will call HP using a different phone number to verify.

    Hewlett Packard Printer Owner
January 2015  This is the Hewlett Packard Technical Support phone line.  I know, because I was just going through the caller ID in my phone and checking to see which numbers to report to the Do Not Call Registry.  I first look numbers up on this website before reporting them to make sure it's NOT someone I've done business with. I should have recognized this was HP's number, but I wasn't paying attention.       I believe their technicians are in Manilla.  While I have just this week had "issues" setting up my new HP printer, issues that took hours, and several different technicians to resolve, I do have to say they stayed with me UNTIL it was resolved.  After a couple technicians tried to get the first printer to work, by taking over my computer screen and doing all sorts of things trying to get it to work, they finally concluded the printer must be defective.  They had FedEx come and pick up the defective printer, and they shipped me a new one immediately, which arrived quickly.  It still took several hours to get the second one working, but they stayed with it until they discovered AND FIXED the problem. It seems it was an issue between my Mac computer and their printer, and upgrading my Mac to a higher operating system (a free Apple download) solved the problem. Whenever the HP technician started a download that was going to take a while, he would call me back later after the download had time to finish, to continue working on it, just as he said he would do.  (I'm guessing the first printer probably WASN'T defective after all.)                                                                    HP technical support is MUCH better than it was years ago. They assigned me a Case Manager, who emailed me his phone number, extension, and email address, so that I could contact him easily.  After his technician reported to him that everything was resolved, the Case Manager actually called me to verify that I was satisfied.  This is a FAR cry from their tech support years ago.  This is my 3rd or 4th HP printer, can't remember which, and tech support was VERY frustrating in my early days with them. In fact, I said I wouldn't by another HP, but the office supply store sales people always convinced me the HP's were the best printer, so I gave in.   I do have to say, with every HP printer I've had, once they got them set up and working, they have been incredibly dependable and problem-free printers. In all my years of HP printers, I can count on my fingers how many paper jams I've had - almost none.  Even if I was printing something that was a hundred or more pages long, they never jam.  Also, HP seems to now have much better-trained technicians than they used to have when I purchased my earlier HP printers, to help you if you are hooking up to a Mac computer .                                                                                                                                    I can now say, BECAUSE technical support is so good now, and BECAUSE their printers run problem free, I can definitely recommend HP.  Years ago, I never would have thought I would be saying that!!               Oh yes - they do have an extended warranty you can buy, so that you continue to get free tech support after the manufacturer's warranty runs out.  I did purchase it this time, just to ensure I'm always taken care of, but if this printer is as dependable as my others have been, the extended warranty will be a waste of money.                                                                                                                                                             The reason I bothered taking the time to write this is because I saw some negative comments on this site about H-P's service, but at a quick glance they seem to be from years ago.  So I felt I should let people know their tech support isn't the same as it used to be - THANKFULLY.  I find that they now DO answer this phone number quickly when I call. And while I did have a bit of trouble understanding the accent of a couple of the technicians, when I asked them to talk slowly, it was not a problem.  Others were easy to understand. They were always courteous.

This is really irksome, very annoyed about this - I completed, in HP's site, an internal, generic  FeedBack form.   As asked by the form the preferable method of contact for me, I selected "e-mail" and made sure to unckeck 'by phone' because I don't want to receive calls from foreigners in the call center. I don't have unlimited time to spend on the phone with anyone, not a call center who called me then wants 1/2 hour of secruity verification that I am who they called.  Regardless of my wishes, because it's mandatory to include a phone number on all HP Feedback forms,  HP chose to contact me the way which best suited HP, not what was requested by customer. So far today, in the past 4 hours they have called  4 times from a non-descript Unavailable 800 number. Had I wanted to talk to someone at the HP call center, I have their number.  This is exactly why feel that I I no longer have freedom of choice to answer my own damn  phone. Sorry , I know this is only an information site , thanks for doing the legwork folks.

This is not a consumer review site, it's a site to find out who called me from a number I don't recognzize and ID'd as UNAVAILABLE.   Review HP at their site, not here. The issue is that I *specifically* did not chose to be called, to be interuped by a call center who's number is not identifiable on caller ID.   If you want to review HP customer service, do it in the appropriate place, not a phone number look up site. They called 4 times today after I'd asked them not to.

This is HP!  They may be off-shored...welcome to cost-savings by major companies!!!!  They spoke grammatically correct  English...British English mind you...probably better spoken than most American's!

My printer was over three years old.  It was out of warranty.  If they weren't HP how could they have a known my work email.  I called them.  They called me back!

I bought a new printer with them and they shipped it for free!  I got an email confirmation.

Call the number... HP Marketing support does in fact answer....800-474-6836

    Have faith people!

Really, what a judge you are. I am far from an idiot. HP needs lessons on customer service, outsourcing to call centers in India, 37 operators who do not know their products, transferred 37 times, on the phone for 6 hours, 4 of which was on hold, and my computer isn't even out of the box yet. Nope, not me.
